Speaker 1 All right, Smirnoff, official vodka of the NFL, world's number one vodka. Chris Cody, you're with me here.
Speaker 2 Smirnoff!
Speaker 1
Wow, you're on the money with Smirnoff. Spinoff.
I'm gonna ask you, Chris, what's your favorite game day food? Smirnoff! Not your favorite game day drink. What's your favorite game day food? Smirnoff!
Speaker 1
All right, here's the deal: game day is everything. The noise, the rituals, the passion, the dip, the wings, the dip again.
Spirit off.
Speaker 1 Smirnoff off belongs in that mix because if you're tailgating or hosting or just sitting there checking your fantasy lineup every 30 seconds, you need Smirnoff! Otherwise, it's not a real game day.
Speaker 1
They've been doing it since 1864, which is... I don't even want to do the math.
It's a long time. It's like when Greg Cody was born.
They're award-winning.
Speaker 1 They make cocktails super easy and they're all about bringing fans together. So yeah, we do game days.
Speaker 2 That's their thing.
Speaker 1 And if you're over 21, you should too.
Speaker 5 Why, Chris? Smearing off.
Speaker 1
Grab a bottle of Smearin' Off at your local retailer and head to Smearin'Off.com to find recipes of delicious cocktails perfect for game day. Smearing off.
Please drink responsibly. Smearing off.
Speaker 1
Number 21, vodka distilled from grain, 40% alcohol by volume. The Smearin' Off Company.
New York, New York. Please do not share with anyone under legal drinking age.
Smearing off.
Speaker 5 Folks, losing at fantasy football has consequences.
Speaker 1 It really does. I mean, a new tattoo, a bad haircut, waffle challenges.
Speaker 5 I've seen those waffle challenges. Those look delightful.
Speaker 5 You're stressing me out with that soundboard. Well, fantasy football is stressful.
Speaker 1 So stressful that it can lead to nighttime teeth grinding. Dentech's mouth guards help with nighttime teeth grinding.
Speaker 5
I'm actually a grinder, and it's a problem I have. And that's why Dentech wants to protect your teeth while raising the stakes with this fantasy season.
This is very exciting.

Speaker 1 Welcome to the Big Sue,
Speaker 7 presented by DraftKings.
Speaker 3 Why are you listening to this show?
Speaker 8
It's a podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Lepertard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that.
In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging.
Speaker 9 I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's prize if they're just there.
Speaker 2 If that hasn't happened to you guys, I've done it.
Speaker 8 And now, here's the marching man to nowhere, fat face, and the habitual liar.
Speaker 4 This episode of the Dan Lepartard show is presented by DraftKings. DraftKings, the crown is yours.
Speaker 9 You delivered that with excellent enthusiasm. Zaz, of course, is a professional, has been a professional for a long time, but he just did something that made me a little bit sad.
Speaker 9 There was just sadness that swept over me. I don't know if you know what it is that you did, but Chris Cody asked you to go get that reed, and you got out of the chair.
Speaker 2 Oh, no. Yes,
Speaker 9 with a groan, and then just sort of marched over to the reed in a way that made me sad. sad about 20 years of radio.
Speaker 9
It was a grunt. No, it was.
No, you got up with a groan and you you trudged over there to do it. And normally that kind of age is something I only get around here from Greg Cody.
Speaker 9 And I've noticed, you know, he's walking with a cane, he's coughing. So there's some mortality here
Speaker 9 that's happening to our show. And I was just talking to Carl about this the other day because I'm like, Stugatz is working on his thing.
Speaker 9 Where's Stu Gotz? Cody comes in one day and he's like, after 21 years, Carl says, there's going to be some wear and tear on the vehicle.
Speaker 9 And so seeing Zaz, one of the the newcomers one one one of the youngsters get up with a groan to do the live read made me sad and you you didn't even know you were being watched that's what happens when you buy a used car dan excuse me certified pre-owned
Speaker 9 so one of our new personalities chris cody who has uh learned a lot at metal arc media and has been growing as an executive producer has produced very few things very few uh that are magical uh but big mac's take of the day oh that's my dog big Mac.
Speaker 9 Yeah, well, Big Mac is, I don't even know what would his job be because he's a very affable man who greets us every single morning with dolphin takes.
Speaker 9
And he's happier now because Chris Greer has been let go. And he generally just gives off a lot of happiness.
But the dolphins have made him miserable for a long time.
Speaker 9 And so how would I describe Big Mac's job here at the El Ser, the luxury Elser?
Speaker 10 What is that job?
Speaker 5
We have a parking garage downstairs and he's kind of the guy who lets people in. All right, you can go through.
No, you don't stop.
Speaker 2 I think he's like security. No, but I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 So he's not the DM?
Speaker 9 This is a big job.
Speaker 2 No, he's parking czar.
Speaker 9 He keeps it.
Speaker 5 That's a huge job of like, you're allowed in here. Okay, you're
Speaker 2 delivering in a condo/slash hotel in downtown Miami.
Speaker 5 Docmaster is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 Docmaster. Yeah.
Speaker 9
Okay, so he's the, so Big Mac is the dock master here. And I learned the other day that he's got a twin brother.
He's got a twin brother, and I met both of them. But so he's got his takes of the day.
Speaker 9 Are we all getting the same takes? Because he greets us all. It's his way of saying hello: to tell us what's going on with the Dolphins.
Speaker 5 He must tell all of us because this one in particular that we're about to play, the morning of Monday, when we came in after that big Dolphins-Bills game,
Speaker 5 everyone was like, Did you hear Max take? Like, I think he just gives it to everyone as they walk by.
Speaker 2 But it's the same take?
Speaker 5 Not always, but this one, he's very, he wanted to get this message out. He has a theory on why the Dolphins beat the Bills.
Speaker 9 All right, this is one of the finest things that Chris Cody has ever produced.
Speaker 1 Big Max take of the day.
Speaker 2 Man, you know that game was a bitch, right?
Speaker 2 Boy, I saw it. I saw how Dalvin Cook was acting.
Speaker 2 I ain't never seen him fumble no ball. And then I saw how the
Speaker 2 quarterback.
Speaker 2
Oh, he was acting off a deep like it was 90 degrees. Yeah, he looked weird the whole game.
You already know. And then the way he was scrambling, Chris.
Speaker 2 He was scrambling like, come on, guys.
Speaker 9 Is that you walking away from him?
Speaker 2 Big Mac.
Speaker 2 Take him today.
Speaker 12 Does he know you're recording him?
Speaker 1 He knows that I have the ability at any moment to be recording.
Speaker 4 I thought Big Mac was walking away from you, like doing his job. You were ditching him?
Speaker 2
I mean, he gave me the good stuff, so I'm like, all right, that's it. I'm walking away.
So the sound is going.
Speaker 9 The sound is you walking away from him in a surreptitiously recorded conversation that may have been illegal, that he does not know that you are airing.
Speaker 5 Right, you're gonna hear the first 20 seconds of this.
Speaker 2
This is illegal. I think he's fine with it.
Man, you know that game was a bitch, right?
Speaker 12 Fine with that accusation.
Speaker 2
I saw how Dalvin Coop was out still next to him. I ain't never seen him fumble no ball.
And then I saw how the
Speaker 2 quarterback.
Speaker 2
Oh, he was acting all fatigue like it was 90 degrees. He looked weird the whole game.
You already know.
Speaker 7 And I'm like, all right, we're good here.
Speaker 2 He was ramping, Brit. Yeah.
Speaker 2 That was a fake laugh.
Speaker 1 Big Max take of the day
Speaker 11
when I worked at the Suns. There was a security guard named Kim.
And this dude was the most positive man in the world, but his claim to fame was he always had the last word.
Speaker 11
You could never have the last word on him. So you'd walk in, say, Good morning.
Good morning, Kim. How's it going? Not bad.
Make us better. Thank you, sir.
You do the same.
Speaker 11 Like, yep, always moving upward.
Speaker 1 I'm like, all right.
Speaker 2 And so, like, he would greet you right then. You got to take take the escalator upstairs and i'm up the escalator like all right you have a good day you have a better one like
Speaker 2 the whole way

Speaker 14 You know that switch from the lazy days of summer to the chaos of fall?
Speaker 2 I'm struggling.
Speaker 14
I have zero energy. I can't keep up.
Running between shows, the main show, Miss She Crate, going to this meeting, that meeting, trying to organize dance costumes, like, I have no energy.
Speaker 14 That's when I reached for Liquid Ivy's new sugar-free energy multiplier. Hydrating energy that actually keeps up with me.
Speaker 14 It's got electrolytes, vitamins, and natural caffeine, so I get steady energy, not the jittery, crashy kind.
Speaker 14
Zero sugar, three times the electrolytes of the leading sports drink, plus five essential vitamins. I gotta always keep a few packets with me wherever I go.
It's so easy. You tear, pour, mix, and go.

Speaker 2 take a a picture stugats i would die i don't know where it is this is the dan levatar show with the stugats
Speaker 9 I know that people get frustrated at the amount around here that I talk about sports media things, but I do not care, so go ahead and play that imaging. We haven't played it in a while.
Speaker 9 Play the imaging of us talking about sports media beef.
Speaker 2 Do you get annoyed every time Dan Levittard pontificates about the sports media industry? Well, too bad, mother f. He knows you don't give a damn about what he's gonna say.
Speaker 2 It's time for sports media talk
Speaker 2 today.
Speaker 1 I made that one too.
Speaker 9 Before I get to that,
Speaker 9 Jeremy, can you just give me some live YouTube chat? What are the people saying to make fun of me and us before I run all of them off, right now?
Speaker 1
Definitely making fun of you the most here. Let's see.
I've gathered a few. So from Ty J, more Jeremy because of no Billy is really a kick in the groin.
From Winneo, Jeremy embracing togetherness.
Speaker 1 Who would have thought? Dot dot dot cupcake.
Speaker 1
From Krautcat, Jeremy is a lucky J who knows all the right people. Shocker with a lightning bolt emoji of what he's doing.
What do you think by that? That's to signify the SS, of course.
Speaker 1 And then from Datalism. Jer Emmy is a saint and should be protected at all costs.
Speaker 11 Oh, that's nice. The Emmy in Jeremy is.
Speaker 1 Everyone was so nice.
Speaker 11 What's a lucky J? Is it because your name is Jeremy?
Speaker 1 It's either Jeremy or journalist.
Speaker 2 Was it a Big J?
Speaker 1 It is a capital J.
Speaker 2
Okay. They do that with Pablo.
Okay.
Speaker 9 Zazzlo, why are you smirking? Because he made it about himself?
Speaker 4 I just, I like hearing from the listeners.
Speaker 2 That's all.
Speaker 4 I like getting their thoughts.
Speaker 1 Zazzlo. Big Jay as well, Jonathan.
Speaker 11 You're a lucky J as well.
Speaker 2 You are a lucky J.
Speaker 4 That's what my mom told me. I'm a special boy.
Speaker 10 Lucky Jay.
Speaker 1 The one who gave you your bar mitzvah bonds, right? That's right.
Speaker 4
I got those bar mitzvahs. I got those stocks and bonds on Sunday night.
Hell yeah.
Speaker 2 You're one lucky Jay.
Speaker 4 One lucky Jay.
Speaker 2 That's his name, Jonathan. What team are we buying? Diamondbacks? Let's buy the diamondbacks.
Speaker 4 I'm weighing my options here, all right?
Speaker 4
Lucky Jays do love diamonds. Your boy fell into some money.
That's right. I'm going to take it.
I'm going to take it to the bank. I'm going to cash them in.
Speaker 3 Oh, that's right. I'm going to control the banks.
Speaker 2 Since it's a little bit.
Speaker 5 Spend it all on John Cena's final match.
Speaker 7 What's a little bit?
Speaker 4 Well, let's just say, you know, I'm probably going to spend it all at John Cena's final match.
Speaker 2
So not the diamond bags. Zaszlo.
Might have to contribute a little on my own.
Speaker 9
When you talk about Lucky, Zaszlo has been on an incredible hot streak. Everything he says turns to gold.
Mississippi State wins its first conference game.
Speaker 2 Sticky decent.
Speaker 9 Its first conference game in two years. Every time there's a punch on a football field, someone somewhere internationally is reaching out to Jonathan Zaslow.
Speaker 4 Stop telling me if I know about that lamb man.
Speaker 9 The sports media story that I want to talk about, though, Zeslo, and I wonder amongst all of you, I think you're going to find parts of this interesting. We know all of these people.
Speaker 9 I like and respect all of these people.
Speaker 9 But this beef is
Speaker 9
ugly in a way that's public now. And so you've got, it starts with Michelle Beadle, who is a friend of ours.
Michelle Beadle has been very critical over the years of Stephen A. Smith.
And
Speaker 2 this is long running.
Speaker 9
They don't seem to like each other very much. And so here's what Michelle Beadle is saying most recently about Stephen A.
Smith.
Speaker 16 Because I don't respect him and I don't, life's too short.
Speaker 16 The minute, literally the minute, the morning of my last day on GetUp, as Greenie was giving me a heartfelt goodbye and I awkwardly sat there as I was leaving the set.
Speaker 16
They started a promo that Stephen A. Smith will be on the show tomorrow.
Like it is him. So let's stop acting like the guy gets worked to death.
It's him. Yeah.
Speaker 16 So that being said, I'm like, he made you look like fools for handing him a blank check in the first place because he doesn't even give a shit about the stuff that he's paid a gazillion dollars to talk about.
Speaker 16 And now he's turning around and turning that into a money-making opportunity. And then the money-making opportunity turns out it looks like it's a fraudulent crap business to begin with.
Speaker 16 Honestly, I'm not a religious person, but I pray for the downfall.
Speaker 2 I really am. It's going to be amazing.
Speaker 2 It's going to be amazing.
Speaker 16
It's gross, man. You got to have principles in this thing.
Look, my principles have definitely cost me money. I'm sure they've cost me jobs.
I get it. But I don't regret a single one of them.
Speaker 16
And sometimes I've been very holier than thou, probably, in some of the things I've believed in. All right, it was true to myself.
But man, at some point, you just say no. You think?
Speaker 2 You got to say no. But why, my problem is, why are the other people not saying no? Like, listen.
Speaker 4 Why is this downfall going to be amazing?
Speaker 4
I don't know. It's just like a stupid, stupid opinion.
Like, why is Stephen A.'s downfall going to be amazing?
Speaker 9 Oh, a lot of people are going to enjoy that downfall because a lot of people don't like the climb and don't like many of the things that Stephen A.
Speaker 9
Hit Smith has done, including who he's been critical of. Because this, of course, is going to become about race.
And I want to have the larger conversation about everything happening around Stephen A.
Speaker 9 Smith politically, where he's being used as a very useful tool by the right, but also profiting with great results on all the conquering he wants to do, but bringing to his doorstep fights that are now much larger than the ones he was having when it was just sports as he continues, because he's a conqueror, to gather audience and welcome all of these fights.
Speaker 9 But this one surprised even him because Kerry Champion, after what Michelle Beadle said, this is what Kerry Champion said he should have done in response to Michelle Beadle.
Speaker 2 Stephen A.
Speaker 17 I played that Michelle Beetle clip for one reason and one reason only.
Speaker 17 I'm old enough to remember being on that show and getting in trouble based on some comments you said about women and whether or not they should know their place when it comes to abuse or non-abuse.
Speaker 17 Ray Rice comes to mind. Not gonna get into the details of all of that.
Speaker 17 But Beetle just came for you yet again, like she did when I worked at ESPN.
Speaker 17 I wonder: do you have that same smoke for her
Speaker 17 that you have for Jasmine Crockett, that you have for Michelle Obama, that you sometimes display for me and Jamal Hill? Do you have that same smoke?
Speaker 17 I'm sick of it.
Speaker 17
Keep the same energy. And I call you and I root for you and I say, hey, I got your back.
I'm happy for you. But you keep that same energy, sir, for everybody.
Speaker 2 I understand Carrie's comments. We'll get into that for a second, but I just want to see some useful tool kind of minimizes Stephen A's convictions on these matters.
Speaker 2 I don't think Stephen A is down to be used by anybody. I think Stephen A knows exactly what he is doing.
Speaker 4
I'll preface it with, I don't know any of these three people. I mean, and I've literally never talked to Michelle B.
B or a Carrie Champion before. I don't know any of these people.
But I,
Speaker 4 like, I hate that from Kari Champion. And the reason I, the reason I personally, I have personal feelings about that, just the way that I am, is, like, it's very clear that Stephen A., and Stephen A.
Speaker 4 says this, it's very clear Stephen A certainly played a role in Cari Champion's career. And
Speaker 4
Carrie Champion, sorry. And loyalty is a big deal to me.
And And it's why you're going to see Stephen A. is really upset about it because clearly he feels betrayed in this spot.
Speaker 4 And I feel like if someone was really good to you and someone was a good friend, I don't know why you would do what Carrie Champion did right there, where she's essentially saying, hey, you know,
Speaker 4
speak down about Michelle Beadle the way you speak down about these other women. But I mean, loyalty is a really big deal to me.
And I think it's really lame what Carrie Champion did there.
Speaker 9 Okay, so let's get to
Speaker 9 Stephen A's response here in a second. But just so that you know, I mean, this goes without saying, this is something that I would say to Stephen A.
Speaker 9 Smith and probably have, because he finds himself to great profit in the center of these race and politic wars,
Speaker 9 obviously not a great look. for anybody to have a fight with the white woman and then come back strongest at the black woman when you're critical because Stephen A.
Speaker 9 Smith lit Kerry Champion on fire taking credit, I think, with truths that he was saying about really trying to help her career.
Speaker 9 And this is, I believe, as hurt and betrayed as you will ever hear in an honest fashion,
Speaker 9 what Stephen A. Smith is saying, because
Speaker 9 even before you've heard this entire sound, what Zaslow is saying about Carrie Champion there, when he says that's the part that's wrong. Well, no, the part that would be wrong is what Stephen A.
Speaker 9 accuses her of here, which is saying, I never said those things about you and Jamal Hill. What things are you talking about?
Speaker 9 And at that point, it's beholden on Kerry Champion to show us what those things are. Because here, Stephen A.
Speaker 9 Smith is just accusing her of flat-out lying in order to get the clicks that come from being the person who piles on in this situation and takes out Stephen A.
Speaker 9 Smith, who is having all sorts of trouble with the black community because of the number of things that he's saying that are disparaging to the black community.
Speaker 18 You should be ashamed of yourself.
Speaker 18 You just said, Kerry, you called me, you root for me. Why would you root for somebody that called you out and Jamal Hill, who's your good friend? Because it's never happened.
Speaker 18 Never.
Speaker 18 I've shown you nothing but love.
Speaker 2 What are you talking about?
Speaker 18 You were hired at first take.
Speaker 18 in large part because of me.
Speaker 18 You stayed as long as you stayed and had the support of the people that supported you because of me.
Speaker 18 Do I need to get bosses to confirm that I'm telling the truth? You know I can.
Speaker 18 When we see the diverse people that come on first take, black people, women,
Speaker 2 the list goes on and on. Who did that?
Speaker 18 That wasn't happening when Skip was there.
Speaker 2 How would me?
Speaker 2 What are you talking about?
Speaker 9 That's, I guess, the dirtiest part of that sound, but that's a shocked, hurt, and betrayed Stephen A. Smith.
Speaker 9 Like, whatever it is that you might think about the character or persona, and wherever it is that he's a wrestling character who's made for television, that one hurts.
Speaker 9 And it's one of the things that sucks that being at the center of this war, I will also say to you,
Speaker 9 it's exactly what ESPN didn't want, and it's exactly what ESPN chose when they put Pat McAfee on and cowboy hats and no politics and flannel shirts.
Speaker 9 Like, it's a conscious decision, and we're going to interview Donald Trump because they didn't want these wars near the sports. And now that Stephen A.
Speaker 9 has got more power to do this stuff in politics, he's not allowed to do that on ESPN.
Speaker 9 He's got two different deals now: one's a sports career, the biggest you've ever seen in sports, and one's a giant political career now that's got real possibility because he is in a really useful lane to use all of the sports stardom and media platform to now become a real true political player.
Speaker 9 And it doesn't matter whether you agree with him or not.
Speaker 11 Are you listening to him?
Speaker 9 Because the attention of the day and the currency of the day, all that matters is the attention. Like the currency is just, can you get eyeballs?
Speaker 2 And he gets eyeballs.
Speaker 9 And he has to say things in order to get those eyeballs. And he has to keep up when other young, everybody's at this trough trying to chase him down.
Speaker 2 So, what did we learn?
Speaker 2
This is just so gratuitous. It just feels like high school gossip.
I don't even know what our opinions are on this other than it's just ugly.
Speaker 9 You don't know what my opinion is on this? What are you unclear about?
Speaker 2 I mean, I hear your take, but it's not like I don't need the gossipy angles to know that take about where you stand on Stephen A. I mean, I think like earlier, like we victimized Stephen A.
Speaker 2
I'm not down for that either. This is just all ugly.
And I understand it gets traction and people like when people talk about it, but this one's this one's empty. It is.
Speaker 9 And so this is where all of the sports media beef goes to die? Because this is.
Speaker 2 No, I think some of them have stuff, but this one doesn't. Like, it's just people that are willing to talk and air stuff out.
Speaker 2 Like, I don't even know what is at the heart of the beef between Carrie and Jamel. It's just mudslinging.
Speaker 4 No, Carrie feels that he's not speaking about white women the way that he speaks about black women.
Speaker 2 Yeah, but there seems to be more there that she alluded to, and we didn't get to. Like, it's just none of my business.
Speaker 1 There is more there.
Speaker 1 Like, when she mentions jasmine crockett like stephen a said that she has rhetoric for the streets like he called ben shapiro like a genius he nick fuentes nick fuentes the the guy who agrees with that guy from before who called me a big j
Speaker 1 he he ultimately said that stephen a is clearly red-pilled in embracing the right wing.
Speaker 1 Like when Nick Fuentes is saying he believes you're coming to his side, maybe your rhetoric is what's sparking some of these things with Carrie Champion.
Speaker 1 he had to apologize or decided to apologize for what he said for regarding jasmine crockett but there are examples what feel like weekly where i'm looking at stephen a and going man i'm pretty surprised he's on that side of this conversation and at this point it's no longer surprising it's just where he is i'm not getting surprised by stephen a so it is what like it is what it is but that's that's the beef it's i don't even think it's personal i think that there is an element of like
Speaker 1 man here this is almost the final straw i don't think that this is Well, she said she's tired of it.
Speaker 2 That was the final straw.
Speaker 9 But
Speaker 9 you guys don't find it interesting when you step back and just look at the last, let's make it the last 10 years in sports and let's make it Colin Kaepernick was too hot for the league. All of that is
Speaker 2 blackballed.
Speaker 9 And just make it everything that's happened, the entire timeline, pandemic and everything else.
Speaker 9 Football, getting in bed with every single corporate partner and growing as, you know, taking racism, you know,
Speaker 9
out of the end zones where they were stenciling it. Patrick Mahomes says something.
Roger Goodell says, I was so wrong. And you still see that it's Portnoy and Craftsbox.
Speaker 9 And you see what's happened with the move of what happened with Joe Rogan influencing young bros has now happened, okay,
Speaker 2
over here with sports. No, but I want to talk about the all of it.
Yeah, but I don't want to talk about the all of it because it becomes like the same conversation we've always had.
Speaker 2 Like it moved because progressives are much better at taking it on the chin.
Speaker 2 Because the right is actually effective when it comes to cancel culture. Like you see what they do to major corporations.
Speaker 2 They kowtowed to a right base because they're the ones that actually get up in arms when it comes to cancel culture. Progressives have had to take it on the chin for 12 years.
Speaker 2 And if you want to use empty tweets as an example for snowflake dumb and all of this actually moving a conversation, it's all BS. It's all BS.
Speaker 2
I'm a huge sports fan. Donald Trump has been inescapable when it comes to sports.
The divide of keeping sports and politics,
Speaker 2 that lament that came from the right, it's all BS. They just wanted to keep away politics that disagreed with their personality.
Speaker 9 But how do you not find interesting the obvious shift of that over the last 10 years? That's not something that you find interesting.
Speaker 2
There was a societal shift. There was a societal shift.
And I think it's at the heart of it, it's money because the right is far more effective at actually canceling people.
Speaker 1 I mean, the rights and leadership, right? Like the, the, like, the people who are comfortable bringing Donald Trump onto the McAfee show and having him be like, hey, look, it's Veterans Day.
Speaker 1 He's the commander-in-chief. But, I mean, let's be real, the guy's really funny.
Speaker 1 Like, that type of stuff happening on ESPN is because the people who are in power at Disney and everywhere else, like that. That's who they want in power, right?
Speaker 1
And white men continue to seek and have that power. And it's just, it's all laid out right in front of us.
It has, sports media is sort of a result of where everything has gone.
Speaker 1 It's a it's a microcosm of what we've seen generally in society as we've shifted this way.
Speaker 2 Yo,
Speaker 2 what does it mean?
Speaker 14 Hey, Daylon, that's where you've been this whole time.
Speaker 2 What's up, man?
Speaker 9 I literally thought he had left the room.
Speaker 9 I was wondering because I hadn't seen, I had forgotten. It was so long ago that he dipped down under his computer.
Speaker 2 Did he hit my elevator?
Speaker 9 He didn't. It was much slower than that.
Speaker 9 at first, I thought he was looking for something, intently looking for research in a way I've never seen him try to prepare.
Speaker 9 But then I thought he was rummaging around in like a suitcase or something because he flew in this morning.
Speaker 9 I thought he was under the desk, and then I completely forgot about him.
Speaker 9 And then, because Mike Ryan is telling me, poking me in the ear with get off of this subject, I thought Amin had just left the room to go to the bathroom because he's been lately incontinent.
Speaker 9 Or the opposite of incontinent, I guess. Amin, would you like to rejoin us?
Speaker 2 Not really.
Speaker 2 Wow.
Speaker 9 Tony's top five is somewhere out in the wilderness. Before I get to Tony, though, let me get to the useless sound of the day.
Speaker 9
I want to get to this because I feel like every week we are getting to it later and later. We only have it on Wednesday.
I'd love to have this on Monday or Tuesday.
Speaker 9 Regardless, old football sound that's useless is still tasting fresh.
Speaker 7
Howdy. There's nothing mythical about it.
I believe in the guys we have, people in the room, coaches and players.
Speaker 10 You know, football is the greatest team sport that there is.
Speaker 7
I have a good feel of our players, and I know what we're capable of. I know what they're capable of.
And so...
Speaker 7
I don't know. But it wasn't just buying that we have.
We have staying also. Realistically, it was a full week of preparation.
That was diligent and quite honestly a little salty.
Speaker 7 Yeah, it's unfortunate, but you know, unfortunate he got hurt. They're in big people, and you know, there are some small spaces to get through, and our guys created some good spaces.
Speaker 7
I always love to fight. You know what I mean? That's why I love coaching, is that they fight and they compete.
It is truly all 11. I don't know.
I don't really think about scoring points.
Speaker 7
I just say it's unfortunate he got hurt. Part of winning in the National Football League is sustaining.
Bad on the coaching, bad on the players. Right now, we just had a tough one here, Connor.
Speaker 2 We'll take a look at everything.
Speaker 7
They just block all that crap out, man. They just go and they play football.
It's the unintended consequence of adversity.
Speaker 7 I think we've had our fair share of reps of having things not play out the way you kind of set out for them to play out.
Speaker 7
Didn't feel like they did anything unanticipated, but certainly they outperformed us, particularly in possession down play. He's been doing a great job.
I mean, he's been busting his rear.
Speaker 11 He does every day.
Speaker 7
When he comes to work, he grinds on it, man. Their players made plays.
Our players did not. A week-to-week league, you got to bring your A-game every week.
Speaker 7 I truly believe is once you build a foundation if it's truly stable, then you can sustain winning. When he was going in there, somebody said something like, what?
Speaker 10
Like, don't put him in. There's ebbs and flows and you just have to stay steady, stay even killed.
I think our team has a bunch of mental toughness, resilience, and the ability to be able to respond.
Speaker 10 They stay connected through the good and through the challenging moments.
Speaker 7
You know, third down. Yeah, I mean, the reality is we gave up a 19-point lead to lose the game.
I can't see anymore. I was actually really pumped.
Speaker 7 I told Tua on some third-down calls to let it rip down the field and kind of operated as an opportunity ball to, you know, act as a punt. Look, I'm not sure exactly the play that it happened, Connor.
Speaker 7 We didn't play well enough today. I don't know the exact play that it happened for him relative to
Speaker 7
getting hurt or not getting hurt. We'll be back, we'll be better.
We have to be. I don't know the play.
Like I told him, man, I need you. You know, I need you.
I don't know the play.
Speaker 7 I think for me, the more I try to focus or overly focus or overly try to do something, I tend to get worse at what I'm doing.
Speaker 1 Did Dan Campbell say that someone was grinding on it?
Speaker 4 Grinding on it, dog?
Speaker 2 Come on, taste the taste of wetness.
Speaker 9 That is what he said. He said, busting his rear and grinding on it.
Speaker 2 Slow grind.
Speaker 3 Oh, look, who's back?
Speaker 2 You know how most home security systems wait until after something bad happens? Just like a goalie just standing there until the puck's already in the net. That's reactive.
Speaker 2 Simply safe, on the other hand, well, that's Sergei Pobrowski and net. It's for proactive protection.
Speaker 2 The new active guard outdoor protection uses AI-powered cameras and real monitoring agents who spot trouble before it happens.
Speaker 2 If someone's lurking around, they'll talk to them, hit the lights, sound the alarm, even call the cops, all before anything gets through. That's a shut-out-level defense.
Speaker 2
No contracts, no hidden fees, and named best home security system by U.S. News ⁇ World Report five years running.
I've got Simply Safe at the house, and let's just say, nothing is getting past it.
Speaker 2 Right now, our listeners get exclusive early access to Simply Safe's Black Friday sale. Save 60% on any new system.
Speaker 10 This is their biggest deal of the year, so don't wait.
Speaker 2 Go to simply safe.com slash DLB. Again, that's simply safe.com slash DLB.
Speaker 2 There's no safe like Simply Safe.
Speaker 2
When I think about the holidays, I think about the little moments with my dog, Roma. The ones that make the season feel special.
Put little elf ears on her. You know the deal.
Speaker 2 Take some selfies, post it for people that probably seen it too much.
Speaker 1 I love my dog.
Speaker 2 That's what I'm trying to get at. That's why I'm joining Chewy Claws, who's out here making pets' wishes come true.
Speaker 2
From November 4th through December 24th, you can share your pet's wish at chewy.com slash chewy claws. It might come true.
And it helps others too.
Speaker 2 Every wish triggers a donation of five meals to shelters and rescues across the country. And if you share your pet's wish through the Chewy app, they'll double that donation.
Speaker 2
That's 10 meals for pets in need just for participating. I've been using Chewy for years, legitimately.
They've made my life easier for me and my dog Roma.
Speaker 2 Food, toys, meds, all of it shows up fast, no stress. And being part of something like Chewy Claws, where a small thing like a wish can make a real impact, that's the kind of stuff I care about.
Speaker 2
Every pet deserves a wish come true. Send your pet's wish to chewy.com slash chewyclaws.
It might become a reality. Plus, your wish means Chewy will donate five meals to pets in need.
Speaker 2
Folks, the leaves are turning. The weather's getting a little chillier.
That means the football games are more important. That means football time should be Miller time.
Speaker 2 Game day hits different with a Miller light in your hand. From jaw-dropping touchdowns to fantasy heartbreaks, my fantasy season's over already, but you know what makes that better? Miller time!
Speaker 2
It's the beer that's been there for every moment. 50 years of great taste, simple ingredients, and that iconic golden color you can spot from across the room.
And here's the kicker.
Speaker 2 It's just 96 calories, 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. The original light beer since 1975 and still hitting different five decades later.
Speaker 2
So whatever your game day looks like, remember Miller time is always a good time. Miller Light grape tastes 96 calories.
Go to MillerLite.com/slash stan to find delivery options near you.
Speaker 2
Or you can pick up Miller Light pretty much anywhere they sell beer. It's Miller time.
Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces.
Speaker 15 Don Lebatard.
Speaker 2 To us residents.
Speaker 2 Oh, wow. That's pretty good.
Speaker 2
I think I haven't been practicing. Stugats.
Oh, oh.
Speaker 2 I didn't realize we had a substitute complicated legacy joke.
Speaker 2 441 Powerline Road. Second down and nine.
Speaker 15 This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugats.
Speaker 9 Tony, I don't know where he was. I saw a screen on preview that looked like an area of Miami that I've often seen Guyena.
Speaker 9 I've seen roosters in that particular area, which doesn't seem like an area where roosters should be. But where are you joining us from? You're under a highway, Tony.
Speaker 2 Dan, yes, thank you so much. I am at the foot right now of the I-95 right next to Jose Mati Park.
Speaker 2
And Dan, you may remember, and movie watchers may remember this scene, this place from Scarface Rebenga. Oh, right.
Underneath the I-95, Freedom Town, Dano.
Speaker 2 Yes, the 1980 Mariel Boltlift, all the Cubans, they sent literally right here. They had a huge town of tents, tenth city, right underneath the I-95,
Speaker 2
right here. And that's where I'm at, Dano.
A very little little-known part of Miami.
Speaker 9 That is hugely
Speaker 9 small movie trivia.
Speaker 2 10 minutes of
Speaker 9 10 minutes of Scarface was filmed in Miami, and then the Cubans got mad and sent it to Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 What do you have that kind of thing?
Speaker 9
It's a strange, it's not exactly a movie hall, Mark. No one goes to that place saying, I remember this scene from Scarface.
This is not a tourism place.
Speaker 2 I mean, it's actually like a historic place, And the fact that you have to be like, it's the place from Scarface is kind of crazy.
Speaker 2
Yes, thank you. Thank you, Amin.
Thank you so much, Mike. Yes, Dan, it's a massively important piece of our history.
Speaker 2 Imagine how many people, 250,000 people got let out from Cuba, sent right here because we didn't have space for them.
Speaker 2 Okay, and it was just like, all right, you're going to live underneath the overpass. Is that okay? And everybody's like, yeah, I guess it's better than communism.
Speaker 2 So, sure, we'll live under the overpass.
Speaker 2 Also, a lot of people from insane asylums and jails because Fidel Castro sees on an opportunity and sees on an opportunity to purge his country of people and knowing that the U.S.
Speaker 2 would not turn anybody away.
Speaker 11 Like Tony Montana.
Speaker 2
Exactly right. And that's why they said, you know what? It's better than living in an assailed asylum or in jail in Cuba.
I'll live under the overpass. It's okay.
Speaker 2
So Freedom Town, 10th City right here, baby Rebenga. Dan, we're going to start in the OLI.
I got a lot to say this week. All right.
Speaker 2 We're going to rife through the OLI real quick. Number one, Bears are sneaky tough.
Speaker 9 The Bears are sneaky tough. I don't think anybody would disagree with it.
Speaker 1 Sneaky tough.
Speaker 9 Oh, Amin disagrees with it.
Speaker 10 They beat the Giants
Speaker 2 without Jackson Dart?
Speaker 2 They overcame a 10-point deficit against the Giants at home. Who can do that except three other teams?
Speaker 9 They've won two-thirds of their games.
Speaker 3 A six and three.
Speaker 8 Not impressed.
Speaker 5 Let me jump in and remind the people Tony's top five is presented by Smirnoff, the official vodka sponsor of the National Football League. Smirnoff, please drink responsibly.
Speaker 5 The Smirnoff Company, New York, New York, vodka, 40% alcohol by volume.
Speaker 7 How many other OLI you got, Tony?
Speaker 2 Four more, but again, we're going to get to them real quick. Number two, Davis Mills, gamer.
Speaker 2 Aha!
Speaker 2
Wait a minute. Somebody once told me.
Davis Mills, there's something there.
Speaker 9 Amin has something to rival Tony's hello.
Speaker 11 Apparently, not that quick.
Speaker 9 Cody's hello.
Speaker 2 Aha.
Speaker 2
That's very Eddie Murphy. Where's the spoon? Acha.
There it is. Acha.
Speaker 11 Lucky Jay.
Speaker 2 All right.
Speaker 2
Number three, Mike McDaniel. Talk your shit, boy.
Let's go.
Speaker 2 I want to see him riding on that Matt Blentley and that Matt Black Bentley with the arm out and elbow room. Like, yeah, what's up now, baby? What's up now? We beat that ass, baby.
Speaker 2 What do you say, Zaz? We took that ass?
Speaker 4 Yeah, but like, they're three and seven, Tony.
Speaker 2
What kind of behavior is that? Yeah, but you don't like football. What do you know? What do you know? You don't like football.
You know about that landman, by the way.
Speaker 2 Everyone's talking about stop texting me.
Speaker 4 You know about that landman.
Speaker 2 I don't care.
Speaker 2
All right, Oral eye number four. Two teams won 44-22, which is cool.
Nothing important. Just wanted you guys to store that away for your record.
Speaker 9 That's not a useful observation by any kind.
Speaker 2 What?
Speaker 2 Two teams won 44-22 exactly. Okay, we always cheer Skoragami in this place.
Speaker 2 How about not Skoragami, but like something cool to just store away for your record?
Speaker 2
Week nine, 2025, 44-22. It happened twice.
Okay, whatever. That's asinine.
Speaker 7 Baby cart walking by.
Speaker 4 I'll tell you what else, Tony. Jacoby Brissette in that game was 22 for 44.
Speaker 2 Weird.
Speaker 2 No way.
Speaker 2 Stutter?
Speaker 2
No, no, no. But hey, I thought you were doing a thing on me, bro.
You've been a sucker lately.
Speaker 2 Number five.
Speaker 2
Number five. Last one.
Or no, last OLI here. Here come the Ravens, Dano.
Hello.
Speaker 2 Thank you, Greg.
Speaker 12 Tony, these lads, these, these, okay, these all deserve to not be mentioned.
Speaker 9 Everything you just said deserved to just start with.
Speaker 2 On the outside.
Speaker 1 Start with defense. I mean, OLI for a reason.
Speaker 2
Start with number five. Exactly.
All right, number five, Bo Nicks. More like Bo Stinks.
Yeah. Oh.
Speaker 2
Get it down with the X. Stinks with the X at the end.
Stinks.
Speaker 9 All right, put it on the poll at Levittard Show. Does Bo Nicks stinks with an X?
Speaker 2 Number four.
Speaker 2
With an X, yeah. Number four, Jonathan Taylor's on pace for 2,200 yards and 30 touchdowns.
You know what that means, Dano?
Speaker 9 Are you going to put him in the MVP conversation?
Speaker 2 No, I'm not going to put him in the MVP conversation, but the RB is back. Jack, running back is back in a big way, baby.
Speaker 9 I don't believe that's accurate.
Speaker 10 Number three.
Speaker 1 Number three, then you might not like this one.
Speaker 2 And I might get a lot of flack for this one online. Josh Allen is Phillip Rivers.
Speaker 2
He'll never win a Super Bowl. He's going to be a great guy.
He's going to go to the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2
He'll win an MVP. He's never going to win a Super Bowl.
It's just not in the cards for him. Josh Allen is Phillip Rivers.
I love Philip Rivers. I love Phillip Rivers.
Another great.
Speaker 2 Hall of Famer.
Speaker 9 So hold on.
Speaker 9
So I cover this correctly. Just to cover the spectrum.
Yesterday on the show, this is one week after beating the Chiefs.
Speaker 9
Losing to the Dolphins is such an indignity that Zaslow says the Bills window is closed. Tony says Josh Allen will never win a Super Bowl.
And Greg Cody says the window was never open for Buffalo.
Speaker 9 That it hasn't been open for 50 years. There's never been an open window because they're Buffalo.
Speaker 9 That happens two weeks. No, one week after beating Kansas City.
Speaker 2
Yep, exactly. Thank you.
You're tracking.
Speaker 5 And Juju's been telling us the Bills are not good for a while.
Speaker 9 So it's done.
Speaker 9
So none of you said this after they beat the Chiefs. Not one of them.
We all did.
Speaker 4
They're 5-0. They're 5-1 against them in the regular season.
Who cares?
Speaker 11
That's literally Zaz's announcement. No, no, no.
Who cares?
Speaker 9 So the game beating the Chiefs means nothing, but the game losing to the Dolphins means everything.
Speaker 2 Wow.
Speaker 11 Beating the Chiefs in the regular season means nothing.
Speaker 4 Losing to the Dolphins is so much worse than beating the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 It's good.
Speaker 11 It's like playing well at Summer League.
Speaker 11
Dan, if you play well at Summer League, nobody cares. It's Summer League.
But if you play poorly at Summer League, everyone's like, oh my God, it's Summer League. How can you be so bad at this?
Speaker 11 Same thing.
Speaker 2 Number two.
Speaker 2 Number two, I think the Patriots are legit Super Bowl contenders, Dano.
Speaker 2 I think the Patriots are legit Super Bowl contenders. I think they could be a sneaky one seed in the AFC.
Speaker 2 And I think if things break their way, Drake May takes that next step within the step that he's already taken this season. I think they can find themselves in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 9 One win in Tampa and one loss in South Florida.
Speaker 9 And you guys have now given the AFC East to the Patriots, and it's over, and you're going to make the Patriots Super Bowl champion possibilities when none of us would have said that four games ago.
Speaker 2 Maybe it's muscle memory. They've been doing that for 25 years down here.
Speaker 9 You're just scared of them?
Speaker 1
That's it's Pat the Patriots. That's how good Drake May looks.
Pat in the uniforms this weekend.
Speaker 2
Good. That crossing round throw.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 He's good. Yeah.
Speaker 2 Number one.
Speaker 9 You've got two.
Speaker 2 You've got
Speaker 9 to be better than changing the entirety of the AFC East.
Speaker 2 Yeah, and this one might not be a popular pick, and especially after what happened Monday night, I think the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 It happens every year, okay? There's a team that is in flux. There's a team that has this great potential that in the middle of the season, there's turmoil, there's turbulence.
Speaker 2
We don't know what's happening with this team. A.J.
Brown is putting weird quotes. Jalen Hurts, what is he doing? He's throwing the ball into the stands.
The Eagles are just fine.
Speaker 2
They're going to win the Super Bowl, Dano. Remember, I said it here.
The same week that we had 244
Speaker 2 wins, that same week, I said Eagles are going to win in the Super Bowl. We'll replay this in February when the Eagles beat
Speaker 2
the Seahawks or something in the Super Bowl. Excuse me, they can't beat the Seahawks.
My bad. When they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl, rematch of 2018, Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 9
I don't know why I said Seahawks. There's the dismount right there.
Tony's greatest of all the achievements was Philadelphia and Seattle in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2
Put it on the poll. Back in the day, it could have happened.
They were in the ASC. Did you know that?
Speaker 9 Weren't the heat in the Western Conference?
Speaker 2 They were Astros in the AFC.
Speaker 2 We were?
Speaker 4 Southwest Division.
Speaker 2 Yeah.
Speaker 9
Thank you, Tony. I can't believe that the ending of Tony's top five is a Philadelphia-Seattle Super Bowl.
Thank you. You're joining us from something that is definitely
Speaker 9 temporarily a homeless encampment.
Speaker 2 Do you know about that landmark?
Speaker 9 It's a strange place to join us from.
Speaker 9 Thank you. I don't.
Speaker 2 Hello.
Speaker 9 I can't believe that Scarface says
Speaker 9 held up for 45 years so that Tony's joining us from a parking lot I actually recognize.
Speaker 4 I'll bet that inaugural Western Conference heat team wasn't taken off a back-to-back as a rest. Tell you what.
Speaker 11 No, it's because they sucked.
Speaker 1 You think Ron Rothstein would let that happen?
Speaker 2
You think Ron Rothstein would say, hey, you can rest tonight. You're going to rest.
Another lucky Jay.
Speaker 11
Is that your limited fake Ron Rothstein? Yeah. Well, until tonight, I'm going to see him tonight.
I'm going to say, this is what Zach was.
Speaker 2 That was kind of Ron Rothstein.
Speaker 2 That was not a good idea. You're going to rest tonight.
Speaker 2 You need to rest.
Speaker 9 Ron Rostein, the coach
Speaker 9 of the 15-win heat.
Speaker 2 He's so tired.
Speaker 9 Is the guy that you want managing today's player?
Speaker 2
Zaz, Jeff Perlman. He can put a podcast episode on the show.
I'm dying to talk to him.
Speaker 4 I'm dying to talk to him. It's going to be my favorite Zazzlo show 2.0 ever.
Speaker 2 I want him on my channel.
Speaker 9 He calls the 1988 expansion team the greatest expansion team of all time.
Speaker 11 That's a great episode.
