Speaker 1 Now's a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila.
Cuervo. What are you doing here?

Speaker 2 Cuervo. Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up.

Speaker 1 Well, I do know that to be true, but even during ad reads, like Cuervo, I think you could lay out, especially for one of our great partners.

Speaker 3 Sweet, delicious Cuervo.

Speaker 1 Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots. The same family, the same land, the same passion.
Cuervo. So, enjoy the tequila that started it all.
Cuervo. Cuervo.
The tequila that invented tequila.

Speaker 4 Proximo, eruvo.com. Please drink responsibly.
Cuervo.

Speaker 5 I am so excited for this spa day.

Speaker 4 Candles lit.

Speaker 5 Music on.

Speaker 4 Hot tub warm and ready.

Speaker 5 And then my chronic hives come back. Again, in the middle of my spa day.
What a wet blanket. Looks like another spell of itchy red skin.

Speaker 5 If you have chronic spontaneous urticaria or CSU, there is a different treatment option. Hives during my next spa day? Not if I can help it.

Speaker 4 Rose is making me dissorry. Rose is making you what? I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. Three, two, one.
Rose is making me say this. The NHL is in the upside down.

Speaker 4 I don't know what that means. This is the hockey show.

Speaker 4 David Droker, the hockey news is to my left. Rose and Ethan are in there somewhere.
It's like dark. I don't know.
The light's red. I don't know what's going on over there.
My name is Roy Bellamy.

Speaker 4 This is the hockey show, and we have a new YouTube page. It's not new anymore.
Follow us at hockey show, at the hockey show

Speaker 4 DLS. We also have a TikTok, the Hockey Show 7.
And on X, Instagram, and Threads at Hockey Show DLS, we have some breaking news coming from Winnipeg.

Speaker 4 The Jets goaltender, Conor Hellebuck, underwent knee surgery. He will be out four to six weeks, and injuries this season have been pretty overwhelming.

Speaker 4 As you guys know, we cover the Florida Panthers down here. And

Speaker 4 a little injury issues. Yeah, a little injury issues.
Now, of course, that's why we talk about the Panthers most often because we cover them. We go to the game.

Speaker 4 So if you have a problem with that, sorry. Anyway, they have seven players out now.

Speaker 6 Let's see. Barkov, Kachuk, Nozik, Gadovich, Kulikov, Schwint, Lusterinen.
I stopped counting. Is that seven or eight?

Speaker 4 I didn't count. No sick.
You said Nosik. I did.
Yeah, so yeah, that's about seven. That's a lot.
And most of them are out months at the least, right? Like Gajovich is out three months.

Speaker 4 Schwinn is out two to three months. No sick, we don't know anything about.
Kacuk's return, we're starting to see could be around the corner. We all know about Barkov.

Speaker 4 Like Kulakov was out five months when he got injured. These are all long-term injuries.
These aren't week to week, except I guess Luce Drinen is literally listed as week to week.

Speaker 4 But these are long-term injuries for some very important players for the Panthers right now. Well, I checked on Wednesday.

Speaker 4 The Maple Leafs, Penguins, they all have seven players out, just like the Panthers do. Buffalo, New Jersey, Vancouver, they have six players out.
It's just ridiculous. Like, it's like...

Speaker 4 Things are going on right now in the league that are getting these players hurt and out for a significant amount of time.

Speaker 6 I'm surprised Rose hasn't chimed in with some Stranger Things reference as to why all these injuries are occurring.

Speaker 4 We're only three minutes in.

Speaker 7 No, but the thing is,

Speaker 7 if you've seen these injuries, they haven't been even like at games. One was in

Speaker 7 practice. The other one was grilling.
The other one was

Speaker 4 chasing something, did some dinner.

Speaker 1 You know what?

Speaker 7 I just think, yeah, we are on the upside down. We're getting there.
So that's the NHL is in chaos also.

Speaker 4 Yeah, let's get into these injuries injuries because Luce Ryan got hurt from burns at a propane tank in front of his barbecue.

Speaker 6 I don't know if I've ever seen barbecue accident as a valid injury reason before. So that's a new one.

Speaker 4 This is why I don't use propane. I use wood.

Speaker 4 I have a smoker.

Speaker 4 You don't even use charcoal?

Speaker 4 I do have a Weber.

Speaker 4 So I use charcoal, but I do not use propane. at all.
But you smoke your meats. You don't grill your meats.

Speaker 8 Yeah.

Speaker 4 Yeah, I can grill on the the Weber, and I can smoke on my Cabelus grill. So, yeah, that's why I don't use propane because of stupid shit like that.

Speaker 4 Before we really dive into the Panthers, can we go back to Hellabuck for a second? This is a four to six week injury. First of all, did either of you guys know that he was dealing with anything?

Speaker 4 Like, this caught me completely off guard this morning.

Speaker 2 And then also,

Speaker 4 four to six weeks, it's November 21st. He is the presumptive starting goaltender for the United States at this year's at this upcoming Milan Olympics.
Starts February 6th, 2026.

Speaker 4 Six weeks, guys. It's getting really close to that date.

Speaker 4 He's not coming back in six weeks. He's going to try to get back earlier.

Speaker 6 Yeah, I would think that this is something that they're keeping in mind that he's very cognizant about, keeping that in mind. And he's having a pretty good season.

Speaker 6 Like the record is whatever, eight and six, but two and a half goals against 9-13 safer. I mean, he's Tony Hallebuck.
Yeah.

Speaker 6 It's the regular season, so you know he's going to perform well.

Speaker 4 So Luce Ronin with his burn injuries, he joins Jack Hughes on the

Speaker 4 weird injury front.

Speaker 1 Weird injury.

Speaker 6 Injuries that occurred while preparing or eating food.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 4 From what I heard, he slipped and fell, and I guess his hand landed on a wine glass is what I heard. That's Hughes.

Speaker 4 That's Hughes. That's Hughes, Luce Ryan.
Yeah. Yeah, I said that.
That's Jack Hughes.

Speaker 4 I already said that Luce Rona got injured in a barbecue grill accident with his propane tank. So yeah, Hughes cut his hand and he's going to be out a significant amount of time.

Speaker 6 Eight weeks. Luis Ryan's going to show up looking like a gold member.

Speaker 6 Unfortunate barbecuing accident.

Speaker 4 Well, the other thing is, Maurice said he's going to be out a few weeks, and then they're going to have to try and get the pads back on him and see if he's comfortable enough with the pads on him.

Speaker 4 Well, they tie into each other.

Speaker 6 Like, it's just a matter of, because it's not like he can't move his body or it's a strength thing. It's just a matter of his skin being comfortable wearing anything, let alone hockey gear.

Speaker 6 So it's just going to be a huge

Speaker 4 bandages on top of what most likely will be a shirt, which would end up having his pads over, and then the jersey. So, yeah, that's a lot of layers right there.

Speaker 4 And those burns are going to have to be protected.

Speaker 6 Actually, from what I heard, I think it was lower body.

Speaker 4 Oh, Jesus Christ.

Speaker 4 Oh, no. Oh, no.
Hopefully lower, lower body. Yeah, I was going to say.
Yeah.

Speaker 6 No, I think it's lower, lower.

Speaker 4 I don't

Speaker 1 know. Like a big toe.

Speaker 4 Let's just calm down.

Speaker 6 Let's everybody take a breath. Let's just relax.

Speaker 4 Let's not put that out into the world.

Speaker 4 That's not good. Jim Parsons of the Hockey News wrote about some odd injuries over the course of the last, I would say, 30, 40 years.

Speaker 4 And here's a couple of them. Joe Sakic, if you remember, broke three fingers and had tendon damage trying to fix a snowblower.

Speaker 6 See, I've got nothing for that at all.

Speaker 4 Brent Sopol hurt his neck picking up a cracker.

Speaker 6 What?

Speaker 1 Yes, Yes,

Speaker 4 that happened. That's like Howard Bryant tearing both his hamstrings, getting out of bed.
Yeah, just about. Yeah, somewhat similar to that.

Speaker 4 Dustin Penner had back spasms after leaning forward to eat pancakes.

Speaker 6 See, the last two ring true in terms of a getting older and random things going wrong for everyday activities. Like, that all kind of sounds a bit familiar.

Speaker 4 And this one is

Speaker 4 really, really weird here. Glenn Healy cut through his hand with a knife and a pair of scissors, respectively, trying to fix a set of bagpipes from the First World War.

Speaker 4 Wow.

Speaker 6 That is a hell of a mouthful.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 6 So he cut himself not once but twice while trying to fix bagpipes. Yeah.
He might be the only person outside of Scotland to ever do that.

Speaker 4 Yeah, I am not making that up. You can find the article Jim Parsons wrote about that.

Speaker 6 That's spectacular. And of course, it was a goalie.

Speaker 4 Yeah, of course. I mean, because you guys are weird.
Who? Glenny?

Speaker 4 Glenny. Coolies are weird.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 I mean, we heard on the big show,

Speaker 4 who was it? It was Cooley for

Speaker 4 the Flames on

Speaker 4 how in his mind he accepts, what was it, losing? Yeah, he accepts losing. And the Flames are dead last.

Speaker 4 They're bad. They stink.
And it's not even because of the goal today. It's because they can't score.
They're second worst in the league.

Speaker 6 in goals fourth. Yeah, what was it that he's like, nothing matters.
We're all going to die.

Speaker 4 The funny thing about the Flames is they're sixth in the league, right behind the Panthers in expected goals percentage. How?

Speaker 4 They just don't score. Like, they're good defensively.
They're sound defensively. And Dustin Wolf, while struggling not as good this year as last year, like, it's just crazy.

Speaker 6 What a weird team. There's only one team in the league that has scored less goals than the Calgary Flames.
Can you guess which one it is? I think I know.

Speaker 4 Noah Phillip.

Speaker 4 Okay.

Speaker 6 It's not your rippy ice player. It's not no.

Speaker 4 Is it the Rangers?

Speaker 6 It is not the Rangers. It is a Western Conference team.
It's the Oilers. It is not the Oilers.

Speaker 4 It's not the Oilers, bro.

Speaker 6 The Oilers have actually scored a lot of goals this year. They've given up way more, but they've actually scored a lot of goals this year.
No, the answer to the question is the Nashville Predators.

Speaker 6 They've scored two less goals in two less games than the Calgary Flames.

Speaker 4 I want to get into this Noah Phillip situation because what we're doing lately is we are taking packs of cards. Packs of up-a-deck cards.

Speaker 6 Yes. I have a box in my bag out in the bullpen, actually.

Speaker 4 Yeah, you do. And we're opening them up.
It's a pack of four cards, and we're taking at least one of those cards.

Speaker 4 And one of those players, depending on how they do during the week, there's a point system.

Speaker 4 Whoever has the most points out of me, Rosie, and David ends up being the winner for that week, and a collective over the season. So right now, Rosie, back-to-back weeks of being dead last,

Speaker 4 currently with Noah Phillip, who is a rookie for the Edmonton.

Speaker 4 And Philippe Forsberg last week has brought out the rear.

Speaker 6 That's because Rose built into her game the ability for us to choose each other's cards if we spin and get a certain spot. So Rose kind of stubbed herself in the toe.

Speaker 7 Roy's one lucky guy.

Speaker 6 Yeah, Roy's gotten very far.

Speaker 7 17 points, and I just have three.

Speaker 4 Stubbed herself in the toe.

Speaker 4 Yeah, that was. That's a new one.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 I forgot who I was. Who did I have last week?

Speaker 6 Last week, you had freaking Nietzsche.

Speaker 4 Oh.

Speaker 6 Oh, that's a good guy to have right now.

Speaker 7 And now he has, he could have, or Maclan celebrini or uh another good guy to have

Speaker 6 timmy uh panerin

Speaker 6 for

Speaker 4 jersey card god how good is jersey how good are the colorado avalanche

Speaker 4 i was watching them last night they're amazing to watch just play beautiful hockey yeah uh macklin celebrini

Speaker 4 hat-trick the

Speaker 4 night after i picked him i was like oh no

Speaker 4 but uh automatic six points for the card that i picked which was paneron and uh rosie is not happy Sorry, Rosie. No, I'm not.
Bye.

Speaker 6 I love how, as you were breaking down the game, I looked over at Rose, and she was like, the expression on her face was like, don't bleep this up, Roy. This is my baby.

Speaker 4 You're...

Speaker 6 Sending it out to the, like, she, the look on her face was, I've never seen her, like, so, like, laser-focused on you before.

Speaker 4 She created the game.

Speaker 7 No, you know why I'm laser-focused? Because he's so lucky. He's like, I don't want to play because I don't want to play.

Speaker 7 That's the thing. When you don't want to play and you don't take seriously that game,

Speaker 7 everything goes well. That's why I am great at other games, Katana and all of that, because I don't care about the games.
But these ones, I do care.

Speaker 4 So

Speaker 4 it's just.

Speaker 1 Maybe you care too much.

Speaker 6 You got to send in your redemption card, by the way.

Speaker 4 Don't forget to do that. Oh, I already did.

Speaker 6 You already sent it. I love it.
You already sent it in. Yeah.

Speaker 7 Yeah, but it's a savers.

Speaker 6 But who cares? Yeah.

Speaker 4 Let's send you back a card. It'll be fine.
Don't worry.

Speaker 6 Who's Buffalo's big rookie this year?

Speaker 4 Nobody. No one.
No one.

Speaker 4 I want to talk about New York Rangers captain JT Miller and

Speaker 4 what he did the night before. Again, he's their captain.
All right.

Speaker 4 He's also the guy who divided the Canucks locker room with his beef with Elias Pederson, the forward,

Speaker 4 which is what led him to be traded back to the Rangers in the first place. Now, look at this play here.
He turned the puck over,

Speaker 4 kind of gave up on the play, and then just skated away. That led to a goal for the Golden Knights.
They went up 2-0. They won 3-2.

Speaker 6 That's really bad. I mean, we're looking at this through Panthers colored lenses.

Speaker 6 Like, we've been watching Paul Maurice build the Florida Panthers into a team that nobody would even think about doing something like that.

Speaker 6 So to see somebody of his caliber give up on a play like that and it immediately leading to a goal, like that's disturbing.

Speaker 4 Yeah, he's one of those loud, fiery, well, talk at you type of leaders. He's not one of those leaders by example

Speaker 4 players like alexander barkov is but i mean that's the type of play that mike sullivan really should sit him down and read on the riot act i was listening to uh what chaos the other day and they had johnny lads on the show and he was basically saying that jt miller is the kind of guy or there was a quote that came out that jt miller is the kind of guy that

Speaker 4 when

Speaker 4 things are going really good he makes everything go that little bit better. And when things are going really bad, he kind of drags everything down and makes things go a lot worse.

Speaker 4 So it's kind of an interesting choice as captain, even though he is that fiery guy and they kind of need that fiery guy in the New York locker room, I think.

Speaker 4 And there are signs. He was one of the guys that fought at the Four Nations, right, with the Kachuk brothers.
He was the third guy that fought.

Speaker 4 So you can see that he elevates, he rises to that occasion and brings that kind of energy. But then you see that kind of effort there.
And to have that out of your captain, that's just unacceptable.

Speaker 4 And especially in a season where the Rangers are struggling and all the things that have been surrounding them for the last two or three years or so.

Speaker 4 That's a strip the C situation, man. Like, you got Trochek on this team, too.
So he can easily be a captain.

Speaker 6 Meek is a banana jet or Temi Pinarin. There are options.
Adam Fox, he's a great guy.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he is.

Speaker 6 But no, to Ethan's point, you shouldn't be asking these questions of the guy wearing the C. Like, I don't know if we've ever had a conversation like this about a captain.
So that is jarring me.

Speaker 6 Like, that... in and of itself is a little weird.

Speaker 6 It sucks for the Rangers because we all talked about the Rangers as a team. We thought they were going to kind of step back into relevancy this year after a down year.
So, yeah, rough start, man.

Speaker 6 That's a weird year for them.

Speaker 4 Like, they're playing well. Their underlying numbers are great, but they just can't get any goals.
And right now, I didn't think this was the case, but it is.

Speaker 4 They're in last place in the Metropolitan Division. Now, we all know that East is very scrunched up right now, and that doesn't really mean a lot.

Speaker 4 They're only like a point or two out of a playoff spot. But, man, it's been a weird year.
The vibes have been weird there for two years now, and it's continuing this year.

Speaker 4 let's talk about game etiquette for fans here as you know again the David and I are in the press box I love that you put this in the show I love this yeah

Speaker 4 whatever home games for the Panthers and for the past I would say three seasons as you just heard

Speaker 4 there's a fan in a section to I would believe the right of the press box who is whistling it's

Speaker 4 Just about that annoying.

Speaker 6 No, it's worse than that.

Speaker 4 No, it actually is worse than that because it's louder than what she's doing.

Speaker 6 And there's no like,

Speaker 6 there's no organization to the whistling. This guy just randomly interjects his whistles at random times in the game.

Speaker 6 And I probably wouldn't notice as much if you didn't loathe it so much.

Speaker 4 I swear to goodness. Like I'm in the press box.
I'm sitting next to you. And

Speaker 4 I just want to scream, shut the f ⁇ up.

Speaker 6 Yeah.

Speaker 4 And that would get me. Blip that.
And that would get me kicked out of the press box most likely. But yeah, I really want to say that to this guy.
That is just poor form. Now.

Speaker 6 I hope this guy's not listening because we're going to get it.

Speaker 4 I hope this guy is listening.

Speaker 6 No, because we're going to get it way worse.

Speaker 4 No, I hope this guy is listening. I hope he is listening.
This is bad behavior.

Speaker 4 So, yes. So, Ethan says that's bad behavior.
What about you and Rosie? Is this bad behavior for a fan?

Speaker 6 I think I'm kind of wishy-washy on it because, like, on one hand, I think going to a game and cheering and whistling and that kind of thing is part of it.

Speaker 6 On the other hand, if I was sitting in that man's section as a season ticket holder, I'd want to blow my brains out so it's incredibly annoying hearing it from a few sections away I can't imagine sitting on top of it so yeah I don't know man um you're not gonna like my answer but the man paid for his tickets he's cheering

Speaker 4 let him

Speaker 4 that's kind of where that's

Speaker 4 everybody's loud that might be your point but that's disturbing the fans and disturbing why if it's I do love Roy using our show to air his grievances just be like you suck your behavior sucks I hope you're listening I think that's a great this is a great forum.

Speaker 4 If you're not talking about

Speaker 4 puck, let's talk about fans behaving poorly. No, let's talk about fans behaving poorly while watching puck.
How about that?

Speaker 6 How about that, Sam? Fans need to be watching out because if they're not on their best behavior at a Panther game, they're going to hear about it.

Speaker 4 Yeah, so yeah, I'm not happy with this guy, and I believe he needs to stop. Please.
We'll see. Stop.
We'll see what happens tomorrow. It's time for Puck Luck.
It's sponsored by DraftKings.

Speaker 4 DraftKings, the crown is yours. Dave,

Speaker 4 what is our parlay this week?

Speaker 6 All right. Tonight, we are going to Buffalo first for the Blackhawks in Buffalo.
First, we're going to take the Blackhawks in the money line because we're getting great value.

Speaker 6 Chicago will be playing a second end of a back-to-back. However, it's the first time all season that they've played a back-to-back.

Speaker 6 Chicago is also above 500 road team, and they've won three straight on the road. And Buffalo is Buffalo.
The only time they win is when we bet against them, and we're going to end that streak today.

Speaker 6 Also in that game, we're taking Connor Bedard over three and a half shots on goal. He's hit this number in seven of nine games, and Buffalo allows the most shots on goal in the NHL.

Speaker 6 And we're going to wrap up our parlay with Adrian Kempe in Los Angeles. He's hit his over three and a half shots total six games in a row, and Boston allows the ninth most shots on goal in the league.

Speaker 6 And this parlay, this three-lead little parlay, will give you odds of 10-39. We're going to make some good money tonight, Roy.

Speaker 4 All right.

Speaker 4 It's time for the stat of the week.

Speaker 4 The hockey stat of the week.

Speaker 4 Hey,

Speaker 4 I was just talking to you. I know, but hey,

Speaker 3 it's time for the hockey stat of the week, guys.

Speaker 4 Somebody we need to be talking about more. Dave, you're going to love this.
Yaroslav Askarov out in San Jose. He had a very rough month of October.
Really, really rough.

Speaker 4 But he has turned it on in November so far, guys, guys. He's got a nine percent.
Guys, guys. Guys, guys, I don't know what that was.

Speaker 4 He's got a 952 save percentage percentage in November. He's got a 1.53 goals allowed average in November.
Oh, what was the save percentage again in November? 9.52. That's a lot.

Speaker 4 He's 11th in the NHL now with 7.6 goals saved above expected. He's got 10.5 of those in his last

Speaker 4 10 games, which is fourth in the NHL over that span. He's done all of this without pitching a single shutout.

Speaker 4 He's not allowed more than three goals in the month of November, and that occurred last night in the Sharks' 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The guy's been phenomenal.

Speaker 4 A lot of people have been saying he is the next big thing in goaltending in the NHL, and he is turning it on in November and proving that.

Speaker 6 I love the young goalie movement we're getting this year between Astarov, Spencer Knight, Wallsted in Minnesota is playing spectacular. The young goalies are stepping up, Roy.

Speaker 4 Yeah, all right, it's time for Rosa and Un Minuto. Hit it, Rosie.

Speaker 7 Let's hit this. Let's hit it.

Speaker 4 Yeah, let's hit that. Go ahead and hit it.
Go and hit it. Hit that.

Speaker 7 Okay, everybody.

Speaker 4 So,

Speaker 7 hola ijo, sesto su minuto que biene con que spoilers. Yes, vista stranger things via the voyage,

And then the room started changing.

Speaker 4 Yes. All right, that was Rosa Enuminuto.
Thank you, Rosie. And now it is time for Rose in a minute.
Hit it, Rosie.

Speaker 7 Hit it, Rosie. Okay, everybody.
Hello, warning, kids. This minute has spoilers.
So if you haven't seen Stranger Things, run. Three, two, one.
Okay, you did not run. You stay at your own risk.

Speaker 4 Where am I going to?

Speaker 7 Today is no hockey because Stranger stranger things come back on November 26th and I'm just woohoo! Five days. All right, Express recap.

Speaker 7 Will Byron's disappears because Demographic drags him into the upside down. His mom, Joyce, talks to the Christmas lights that today were WhatsApp.

Speaker 7 And his friends, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas, fall in love with the psychic girl who survives exclusive with Eggowaffles at Queen. Season 2, the Mind Flyer shows up.

So don't kill Steve. Buffer Brothers.

Speaker 7 I'll go kill you.

Speaker 7 I'm Rose.

Speaker 4 It's worth one minute. I'll show you things.

Speaker 7 Stay in the upside down case.

Speaker 4 All right. I haven't seen a single episode of this show.

Speaker 6 Well, you should have been paying attention.

Speaker 4 I was paying attention.

Speaker 4 I don't understand what she's saying.

Speaker 4 I can hear.

Speaker 4 It's time for wins and fails of the week. Yes.
Presented by Jagermeister. Serve it code or don't serve it at all.
Jagameister. Damn, that's code.
For more, visit yagermeister.com. Drink responsibly.

Speaker 4 David, what you win?

Speaker 6 My win, we're going junior hockey this week. We're doing the British Columbia Hockey League, the Spruce Grove Saints.

Speaker 6 They have a mascot named Chucky the Angel.

Speaker 6 And his new bit this season is if there's an opposing player in the penalty box during the TV timeout, he skates out onto the ice, stands right outside the door, and stares them the hell down.

Speaker 4 Oh, wow. Shame.

Speaker 6 He's done it a few times this season. He did it the other night when they beat the Vernon Vipers 5-4 in overtime.
And look at him. He looks like an emoji from the back with a little halo over him.

Speaker 6 He's got the wings. I almost want to take a penalty just to experience this.

Speaker 6 I don't know. I love it.
I saw it. I love it.
I think it's one of the coolest things a mascot could do.

Speaker 4 Well, take a safe penalty, delay a game, flip it over the glass.

Speaker 6 No, I'm taking someone out.

Speaker 4 Oh, wow. Okay.

Speaker 6 Never mind that. Two minutes for severe interference.

Speaker 4 My win of the week are the Winter Classic uniforms. The Rangers and Panthers have unveiled their

Speaker 4 new unis for the Winter Classic. The Rangers are going with a road version of their Centennial uniforms.
White jersey that says New York on a diagonal.

Speaker 4 Red pants, blue and red stripes on the sleeves, bottom of the jersey and the socks. The Florida Panthers have brought back an updated version of the Leaping Panther.

Speaker 4 It's not like the current alternate that they have in the locker room.

Speaker 4 As you've seen, obviously, it's more of an updated version of the old one. Go pants, go gloves, go stripes on the sleeves and socks.
Both teams will have special patches.

Speaker 4 I think the Panthers should have gone with the alternate version of the Leaping Panther in the locker room.

Speaker 6 they said they wanted to make it look like it was made in

Speaker 6 the 20s, 30s. Like the whole uniform is like a throwback to the bottom.

Speaker 4 Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, because they do have a patch.
They have a sun patch. Yeah.

Speaker 4 From, what was it, the Tropical Hockey League?

Speaker 6 Back in the 2008. Yeah, the South Beach somethings.

Speaker 6 It's pretty cool how they're tapping into hockey that we didn't even know existed literally 100 years ago.

Speaker 4 I think the coach's jacket. I think the reimagining is really cool.

Speaker 4 Yeah, it would have been cool to just go with the original Leaping Panther logo and for nostalgia and everything.

Speaker 4 But the reimagining and kind of trying to make it, what would would this look like if the Panthers were a team in the 1920s, I think, is really cool.

Speaker 4 I think if the Panthers go and have a stadium series game in February, because they can't have it in January because of college football, then they should do something similar to that.

Speaker 7 Can I say something? I don't know if it's unpopular or popular, but I like the Rangers one better.

Speaker 4 Dude, the Rangers. Better? The Rangers ones are really nice.

Speaker 4 It's clean. It's very clean.
It's beautiful.

Speaker 7 Yeah, we look like bees, the Panthers.

Speaker 4 We look like bees?

Speaker 7 Yeah, the socks in the Panthers ones, they look like bees.

Speaker 6 The only thing I don't like is the tan pants. They feel very Boca Ratone, elderly.

Speaker 4 Gold.

Speaker 6 No, they're supposed to be leather.

Speaker 4 Yes, gold leather.

Speaker 4 And that's the color. But yes, I mean, that's Panthers.
It's color. I like him.
Yeah. Ethan.
My win of the week comes from last night's game between the Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils.

Speaker 4 It was the only goal scored in last night's game, and it was an absolute beauty from our guy, Sam Reinhart. Look how he goes near post here.
This kind of reminded me of

Speaker 4 his goal in game six of the Stanley Cup final last year where he went around Evan Bouchard. He was so good last night, ran the game every time he was on the ice, in complete control on every shift.

Speaker 4 And this goal is just beautiful up over the near shoulder of Jake Allen. Absolute gorgeous.
Put that one in the highlight reel. Rhino is having a great year.
Been probably the best player.

Speaker 4 Keep in mind that move that led to that under the stick of the defenseman. He got back possession and was able to go bar down on Jake Allen.
Rosie, what's your win?

Speaker 6 Rosie's chirping me. You guys don't even hear it.
She's chirping me because I hear it.

Speaker 4 I hear it. I hear it.
I'm looking right at you.

Speaker 6 I should have had Sam Reinhart for our card game this week, for Rip the Ice, and you guys robbed me of it. I would have had a game-winning goal there.

Speaker 4 A goal. And I didn't even think about it.

Speaker 6 Rose is in my ear, like, you know, you would have had Sam Reinhart game-winning goal.

Speaker 4 Unbelievable. Dude.

Speaker 7 I wanted you guys to guess what my win is.

Speaker 4 Stranger, stranger. There we go.
Put it up.

Speaker 7 Strange things is coming. September 26th.

Speaker 6 Rose is kind of R11.

Speaker 4 September 26th for that. Yeah, thank you very much.
I mean, you know, you talked about it on your minute.

Speaker 7 Twice, mind you.

Speaker 7 That's why

Speaker 7 I was like, I'm going to give you a quiz that it's easy.

Speaker 4 Okay. There we go.

Speaker 6 Is there a Stranger Things what the Puck this week? Please tell me, though. Yes.

Speaker 4 Oh, God.

Speaker 6 Of course it is.

Speaker 4 God damn it. All right, Dave, what's your fail?

Speaker 6 My fail, we're going to Buffalo.

Speaker 6 Rob Ray, Sabers,

Speaker 6 color commentator. The Sabres hosted the Edmonton Oilers this week and beat them down, scored five goals on Edmonton.

Speaker 6 And when the Oilers pulled Stewart's dinner for an extra attacker in hopes of trying to come back in this game, Rob Ray made a nice little comment that I think we all kind of snickered at.

Speaker 4 Empty net. Sorry, Rob.
Go ahead.

Speaker 1 Yeah, empty net for Edmonton. Yeah, it has been most of the night, so it's a difference.

Speaker 1 But Dallas has been fantastic.

Speaker 4 Ouch, baby.

Speaker 6 Ouch. Rob Ray.

Speaker 4 He's kind of got a point.

Speaker 6 Pulling no punches. Yeah, for sure.
It's just to hear it, you know, kind of blasted out like that. And of all the teams to be talking shit about anybody else, the Sabres? Yeah.
But, you know.

Speaker 4 And who's going to chirp back at them?

Speaker 6 An empty net.

Speaker 4 My winner of the week is within the last 11 games. I'm sorry, my fail of the week.
Within the last 11 games for the Blackhawks, Conor Berdard has scored two hat-tricks.

Speaker 4 Jesus.

Speaker 4 Keep in mind, those are the only two hat-tricks of his career. Berdard scored his second career hat-trick on Tuesday.
The fail in this situation didn't come from the Flames.

Speaker 4 It came from this Blackhawks fan who took his phone out to film himself, throw his cap on the ice.

Speaker 4 And all he was able to do was throw the cap and completely miss everything. He ended up hitting the glass.
Nice. Yeah, that was a weird.

Speaker 6 He was standing like the fourth row. How do you miss the ice? Yeah.

Speaker 4 I mean, it wouldn't be as, yeah, exactly. From the fifth row.

Speaker 6 That's bad.

Speaker 4 And

Speaker 4 it wouldn't be as bad as if he didn't have the phone out. Well, that's the thing.

Speaker 6 He's documenting his fail for everybody to see.

Speaker 4 Yeah, and so did Local TV because that was on

Speaker 4 the Black Carts broadcast. Got to be careful.
Ethan, what's your fail? You know who else documented their fail this week? Was Bill Simmons.

Speaker 4 He went on his show this week and claimed that the Columbus Blue Jackets are, quote, the most irrelevant franchise in professional sports.

Speaker 4 Now, listen, you might have an argument, but the problem I have here in the fail of the week is he said, quote, I have never had a conversation in my life about the Columbus Blue Jackets. My brother.

Speaker 4 So why are you starting with that? My brother, you've never sat down and talked with your buddies about Zach Worensky? I feel terrible for you. That must be a miserable existence.

Speaker 4 Well, hold on, hold on, hold on, because I've heard what he said. All I do is talk about Zach Worensky with the fellas.
I heard what he said. He got half of his information wrong.
He did. He did.

Speaker 4 They had been

Speaker 4 past the first round of the playoffs before. He said something about losing to the Panthers in 2019.
They lost to the Lightning in 2019. He had a lot of it wrong.
He might have an argument.

Speaker 4 Again, but again, Bill, look at me. You've never talked about Zach Worensky with your boys before? Sit down with your boys and talk about Zach Worensky.
It's a great experience.

Speaker 6 He's a great player.

Speaker 4 You should talk about him more. We should all talk about Zach Warinsky more.
You know what? He's going to be a huge part of Team USA coming up in Milan. I'm not making wrong because he used AI.

Speaker 4 You're probably right about that. Yeah.
Rosie, what is your fail?

Speaker 7 I'm sorry, but I'm going to repeat this. It's Noah Philip.

Speaker 4 Thank you. Okay.
Nice. If you are watching on DraftKings Network coming up next, we have Adnan Virk from Prime Canada's Monday Night Hockey.
We are going to talk about movies.

Speaker 4 That's all in your things. And apparently, Stranger Things.
I don't know if he's ever watched the show before.

Speaker 3 He likes Stranger Things.

Speaker 4 I think we've asked him about this before.

Speaker 4 That's right. Well, Rose is in for a disappointment.
You can watch that on YouTube and listen to the audio podcast. And Nan Burke is coming up next.

Speaker 3 What does Zen give you? Not just smoke-free nicotine satisfaction, but real freedom.

Speaker 3 Warning, this product contains nicotine.

Speaker 4 Nicotine is an addictive chemical.

Speaker 4 And it's time for our monthly check-in with Ad Nan Verke. He is the studio host for Prime Monday Night Hockey.

Speaker 4 Ad Nan, where were you this week and where are you going next week?

Speaker 8 Roy, great to always see you and David and Ethan and Rose. Of course, I was in Columbus, which I'd never been before.
And it's always struck me as odd.

Speaker 8 Cleveland, which is a great sports city, not the best city overall, but a great sports city, has every major pro team, but it does not have hockey.

Speaker 8 The hockey team in Ohio are like, man, we'll get that in Columbus. So first time ever in Columbus, to be honest, I work my travel schedule on my beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 8 So five o'clock fight to Columbus Sunday. I had to watch Eagles line Sunday football.
We win in a very boring game, great defensive battle. Next morning, morning skate.
Dr. Marty St.

Speaker 8 Louis, Habs, we're in town. I thought I thought I would explore Columbus a little bit.

Speaker 8 I got got to be honest, fellas, I think if I was there for an Ohio State game in like, you know, late September or something, it's better.

Speaker 8 I just kind of wandered around and was like, oh, it's such a great city.

Speaker 8 I really didn't see much of Columbus earned money. It kind of just felt like Ohio.
I would still run ahead of Cincinnati, if we're being honest. But as far as the game, the cannon was awesome.

Speaker 8 And for years, I had not known. I said, why are they called the Blue Jackets? And for those who don't know, because I didn't know,

Speaker 8 after the fact, the, that was the name of the jackets that were in the Civil War, exactly the Union Army. So that's why they're called Blue Jackets.
And the cannon is unbelievable.

Speaker 8 I went to go see the cannon, and everyone kept warning me. This, it's a lot louder than you think.

Speaker 8 And I asked the guy, I said, let's be honest, why is it so loud? Like between us? And he was like, well, there's a firework inside.

Speaker 8 And he goes, we pump in some noise. I'm like, hey, exactly.
So there's no. Oh,

Speaker 4 really? Breaking news on John Show.

Speaker 8 Breaking news. There is a firework inside the cannon, but they also have noise being pumped up through the rafters.

Speaker 6 That was the game, Adnan, that the Canadian's goalie, Jacob Dobish, shot. He scared the bleep out of him when the cannon went off before the game, right?

Speaker 8 Yeah, you nailed it because that's the big thing, David. I was like, well, I just hope they score a lot of goals.
He's like, well, don't worry. You'll get it in the warm-up and it will jolt players.

Speaker 8 And that's exactly what happened.

Speaker 8 Holy crap. Like, if you're not ready for it, it is loud.
There's no question about it. A great game.
Habs are down 3-1, tied it up, and then lost it in the shootout.

Speaker 8 Merchenko in the shootout, by the way, is unbelievable. Jody Shelley's like, watch this guy.
He goes, he is so borderline arrogant in the shootout. It's amazing.

Speaker 8 And of course, he scored on Dobish, but fun game, good atmosphere.

Speaker 8 I just feel overall, fellas, if I send you a hockey franchise that feels relatively irrelevant, and I believe Bill Simmons was going on this rant the other day.

Speaker 8 The Blue Jackets in 25 years of history have won playoff series. That's almost tough to comprehend.
Like you would have thought at one point you could have got to a conference file.

Speaker 8 It's like, no, one playoff series victory in 25 years.

Speaker 6 With Bob against the Lightning a few years ago, that was what got him the big contract in Florida.

Speaker 4 Yeah, what Bill Simmons thought was the Florida Panthers. Yeah.
Oh, God.

Speaker 6 Side note, what the hell happened to Montreal? They've lost eight of nine.

Speaker 4 All they do is play overtime games, and now they're just losing losing those overtime games instead of winning them.

Speaker 8 And Marty's one of my favorites. I asked Martin St.
Louis about it because in the previous game, they'd had two five on threes and didn't score.

Speaker 8 And I said to Marty, what are you going to do next time? He's like, pull the goalie.

Speaker 6 They've given up five, seven, and eight goals in three of their last five games, and they're all losses.

Speaker 8 Yeah. Montembo, not Montembo, not good.
Dobish had been really good.

Speaker 8 And collectively defensively are not good. But even Marty said to us, he goes, honestly, you just got to get one point at a time.

Speaker 8 Like, I saw him after the game and he was in a relatively good mood because they're like, they were down 3-1, scored twice. At least they got a point.
That's the way hockey is now, right?

Speaker 8 Felts is about the win. Let me just try to get a point.
The regulation should be.

Speaker 6 Let's not talk about the loser point. Over time.

Speaker 8 Exactly. The loser point.

Speaker 4 Where are you going this next week, Atnan?

Speaker 8 Off to LA, Roy. One of my favorite cities.
Of course. I love Los Angeles.
Go check out 75 and Sunny and the beach. And I've never seen a hockey game at Staples.

Speaker 8 I've been to see a couple Lakers gave a farm at Staple, the JW Marriott, right there next to the arena. It's a gorgeous hotel.

Speaker 8 When I used to do sports in LA with the great Neil Everett or Stan Varette, they would put us up in that hotel. So I can't wait, man.
Off to Staples.

Speaker 8 Although, Roy, I did not realize the Kings don't practice at Staples.

Speaker 4 They're in El Segundo.

Speaker 8 Right, David, that's annoying. So Monday morning, we're going to have to...
How far? El Segundo?

Speaker 6 It's like 20, 25 minutes. The last time I was out there, I actually stayed at a hotel next to the practice rink.

Speaker 8 Okay.

Speaker 6 So, yeah, the commute downtown wasn't that great, but it's only like 20, 25 minutes. It's not that bad.

Speaker 8 Okay, so we'll get out there and see Jim Hiller in the morning.

Speaker 6 And it's a cool practice ring, too. It's like multi-levels.
It's, you know, do a little exploring.

Speaker 8 Okay. I look forward to it.
The Kings, by the way, as you guys know, last year were unbelievable at home. This year, they played the fewest home games, and they've been terrible.

Speaker 8 One, four, and two on home ice. They're almost as bad as the Rangers on home ice.
So we'll see what happens when the Ottawa Centers are in town on Monday.

Speaker 4 We mentioned the win-win classic uniforms with the Rangers and the Panthers.

Speaker 4 I believe personally it's a seven out of 10 for each of them, respectively. What say you at, Nan?

Speaker 8 You know,

Speaker 8 I think around seven probably sounds about fair. Like, I think most times people either have really a jarring reaction.
It's a true love it or hate it, but I just think it's decent.

Speaker 8 You know, I think in today's world, I'm the old guy who just likes, you know, the classic Blackhawks jersey or the Red Wings jersey. There's just a third jersey, alternate, this and that.

Speaker 8 But winner classic, I get it, it's going to be different.

Speaker 8 I think the fact it's not too flashy, not too overdone. I think it's Dason.
I'm with you. I give it a seven.

Speaker 4 There's an update on the jersey front, by the way. You brought up the Blackhawks.
They are bringing back the black jerseys that they had in the mid-90s. These are good.

Speaker 6 The Eric Dase.

Speaker 4 Yeah, the Eric Dase.

Speaker 1 He's the very suitors.

Speaker 8 That is great pull by David. Eric Dase.

Speaker 6 That was Dase, Alfredson, and Jovanosti. That was the rookies in 96.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 The Tony Ormantis. Yes.
Adelphi.

Speaker 8 Monte, Jeremy Ronick, keep going. Great Blackhawks the past.

Speaker 4 Krimer Krasov.

Speaker 8 Blackhawks, by the way, good start. I'm a Connor.

Speaker 4 I love watching them. I love watching them add in.
I watched them the other night. I was like dialed into their game against, I think they were playing Calgary and like Calgary in Chicago, whatever.

Speaker 4 But oh my God, they're fun to watch, man. Especially that Bedard.
He's amazing.

Speaker 8 So, yeah, interesting what happened. Bedard had a great rookie season.
Sorry to cut you off, David.

Speaker 8 Last year, he regressed. We went and did a game in Chicago, and there were whispers around, like, is Bedard really the real deal? Like, was it too much too soon?

Speaker 8 And this year, he's come like a house on fire. Like, between him and Celebrani, like, we always talk about how the game is in good hands with great young players.

Speaker 8 And how many years has it been Crosby and Ovechkin who are still going and still performing? But now, like, you can make a case. Like, Macklin Celebrity, Connor Bedard, two great young guns.

Speaker 8 Celebrity is on pace for like 130 points this year, and Bedard could score 50. It's crazy.

Speaker 6 Man, it's fun. We were just talking about the youth movement among goaltenders, and it's kind of all across the board.
It's pretty cool, Adenan.

Speaker 6 Now, you're going to hate me for this question as a Canadian man, I imagine.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 6 But right now, there's only one Canadian team in a playoff spot.

Speaker 6 And I know the standings are really tightly packed and everything, but major disappointments, I would think, between Vancouver, Edmonton, obviously Calgary, Montreal.

Speaker 6 We just talked about, they've kind of fallen off the side of a cliff lately. Which Canadian team, when all is said and done, is going to give your nation its best chance at a Stanley Cup this year?

Speaker 8 Well, it's certainly not Calgary. Let's go through each one.
They've been terrible. I love Brian Husk.
He's a great guy.

Speaker 8 Last year, they were like that classic team with not much offensive punch aside from Nassim Kadri.

Speaker 8 Wolf.

Speaker 8 Yeah, and Wolf is the guy who carried them, right? As a rookie, it's like, oh, he's in the collar conversation. And this year, it's like, well, even Dustin Wolf can't help this team.
They're awful.

Speaker 8 Tank for McKenna. Away we go.
The Oilers, I still think, are the answer. Honestly, David, because they have that collective talent that they're off to a slow start.
You're absolutely right.

Speaker 8 They're way too reliant on those two guys. I do think getting Hydeman back is big.
A couple of years ago, he scored 54 goals. So clearly he's going to help with their secondary scoring.

Speaker 8 Pickard played great last night, deserved a better result. They just weren't able to get any goal scoring, quite frankly, and lost 2-1.
Vancouver is a weird team. I think they're a bit of a mismatch.

Speaker 8 It feels like they got a dark cloud hanging over them, which isn't just the rain in Vancouver. I don't like them that much.

Speaker 8 And the Leafs right now are a fascinating story because, as you said, the East is very tightly bunched up.

Speaker 8 They're like two points in the last place in the East, but they're four points in a playoff spot, but they have not been good.

Speaker 8 Like when your general manager and President Bradshaw Living's coming out and giving a press conference in November, just addressing the state of the team, They've been really disappointing.

Speaker 8 Now, Still Arts has been out. Matthew's been out.
I get it, but you shouldn't still be a 500 team with the Leaves Collection of Talent. Neil Andrew's wonderful, but they really do miss Mitch Marner.

Speaker 8 And it's more of a Craig Bruby team. And the fact they're heavy in the puck and slower, but they're certainly not better.
And there's a lot of concern right now in Toronto for a good reason.

Speaker 4 Just to close a loop on the youth movement in the NHL right now, if you look at the point leaders in the NHL, number three, Macklin Cellabrini. Number four, Connor Berdard.

Speaker 4 And number five, Leo Carlson, who was the second pick behind Connor Berdard in the 2023 NHL draft. These guys are here and they're all really good.
Adnan, I want to ask you about it.

Speaker 4 I saw a clip, I think it was a couple of weeks ago. I wish I had it, but I don't, where Biz's friend Oldie crashed the Monday night hockey.
What was that experience like?

Speaker 4 Because he is an interesting fella.

Speaker 8 Here's what happens, Ethan. When you go on these different shows and meet different people, sometimes you need a scouting report.

Speaker 8 And so with regards to Biz, like I've seen him on TNT and I know he's working, I'm a huge fan of his, but I am not, forgive me, an avid listener of the spit and chicklett's podcast i know that they're irreverent and outspoken and all the rest of it so when we got to the arena i just saw oldie and these guys and again i don't know them i'm making it sound like i know them now but i'm being totally honest i'm like i just knew that they're buddies of biz i could just tell the mustache the trucker hat i'm like all right you guys are clearly with biz

Speaker 8 but i don't know the deal so when the show is going on

Speaker 8 It's like if you didn't know the Lebertart show, you had no idea about Greg Cody and the hard out. Like if you don't get the show, you wouldn't know it.
So I'm just like, oh, these are buddies of biz.

Speaker 8 I'm assuming they're part of the podcast. I don't know what's going on.
At the end of the the show, what Ethan's referring to, Biz is firing up the crowd when we get a CNX.

Speaker 8 He goes, oldie, get out of here. Do what you'd always do.
And I'm like, oh, this guy's a part of the show now. And he gets out there and does the splits.

Speaker 8 He also appears to have some packaging below the waist. And at one point, Biz like tried to hand a microphone to interview his crotch.
So this is clearly when things have gone awry.

Speaker 8 And afterwards, people are telling me, oh, oldie is so great. And I'm talking with oldie as if I know him.
I'm like, hey, good to see you, buddy. All the best.
Hey, great job.

Speaker 8 And I was like, no, he's known for doing the splits. Even more, Ethan, this past weekend at Columbus, we interviewed Rick Nash.

Speaker 8 And the first dancer to Rick Nash, apparently, he's known oldie since they were kids. So I apologize.
I should have known this guy's a big deal. He's a big deal now.

Speaker 8 He's doing the splits and he's boyhood friends of Rick Nash. Oldie doing the splits.
Gotta love it.

Speaker 4 Apparently, Nash used to like bring him into the locker room to fire up the guys and he would like do dances before the games and stuff. Like he is an NHL legend, apparently.

Speaker 8 Yeah, doesn't take himself too seriously. Really fun guy.
I look forward to seeing him the next time we have Biz with us.

Speaker 4 What did you think of the Miko Rentinen hit on Alexander Romanov and Patrick Waugh's reaction to it?

Speaker 8 I loved Waugh's reaction. I mean, he's so fiery, Roy.
And I love the fact he was passionate about it. I understood his point.
He's like, once you see the numbers, you have to hold up.

Speaker 8 But I am, I wouldn't say defensive of Ranson. I do think it was awkward.
I came with who the player was, but he kind of was brushing with him. And then it kind of went into the player Romanov.

Speaker 8 So I don't think Ranson had ill intent. So I don't think he was trying to drill a guy and injure his career, especially check from behind like that.

Speaker 8 But I totally appreciate Patrick Waugh being fired up and being outspoken. It's one of the reasons why we love Patrick Waugh.
As a goalie, he was always outspoken.

Speaker 8 As a coach, he's been the way you've got to support your team. So I personally did not think the hit was malicious, but I understand Patty being so upset.
And I love the fact he was so vocal about it.

Speaker 8 It was good theater.

Speaker 4 The Red Rings and Rangers got together at Center Ice and had a brouhaha as the benches cleared. What did you think about that?

Speaker 8 So after watching the Beloved Eagles game, there was no NFL network in the hotel in Columbus. They didn't have NHL network, which is great.
Got to watch on the fly.

Speaker 8 But I'm trying to watch NFL coverage just to get caught up.

Speaker 8 So in the meantime, I'm just watching Sports sports center which i don't do often these days it's not a slide just don't do it and i said they get to a hockey alley they roll the font rangers red wings and they pick it up nine seconds left and i go wow this must have been a hell of an ending like this is a 10 second highlight and they just show uh obviously off the quick losing his mind i get an example roy where i get both ends like i i understand in this instance a player going i'm not going to wait till the sound like if i have a shot at a free goal i'm taking a free goal like i just shoot the puck and then the horn sounds fine but i get quick thinking hey it's my net i'm going to defend it what i didn't like is Paneran and the rest of the Rangers not really having Quicks back.

Speaker 8 You know what I'm saying? Like, I get to shoot the puck for a goal, and then Quick's like, F that, this is my net. But then the other Rangers starts to come in and mix up a little bit.

Speaker 8 So it's one of those unwritten rules. Again, I asked Thomas Hickey about it, one of my colleagues on the Prime Minister Hockey, and he goes, I get it from both ends.

Speaker 8 Like, if I have a chance at Free Goal, I'm taking it. But I love Jonathan Quick.
Say, no, that's my net. You don't mess with it.

Speaker 4 That's the type of season that the Rangers are having. I mean, you saw what happened with J.T.
Mueller and that him just giving up on a play and the go-to-night scoring.

Speaker 4 I mean, it's like they don't have each other's backs on that team.

Speaker 6 That was a bad thing. That was ugly.

Speaker 8 And there could be no greater indictment of a team, right? If you're bad, at least you have each other's backs, fine. Drop the gloves, do something.

Speaker 8 If it's like, no, we don't even care together, like, that's a really bad sign. And again, it's mystifying how bad they are at all mice.

Speaker 8 You would think on Broadways for the Rangers star hasn't been the case.

Speaker 6 I just was taken aback by Jonathan Twitter reacting like that. Like,

Speaker 6 I don't know. The game's over.
The Nets empty.

Speaker 6 You just lost. Like, is that really the time and the place to be getting all pissed off about a goal?

Speaker 6 Even if you do it during play, during the game, and it's like a delayed penalty or something, I get that. But the game's over.
Like, everybody's skating away.

Speaker 6 Your own teammates were right there when it happened, and nobody seemed to care. Like, read the room.
And I'm a big Jonathan Quick fan.

Speaker 8 Sure.

Speaker 6 I just didn't like that at all.

Speaker 8 One of the great American goalies of all time.

Speaker 6 Rubber tips, dude. It's amazing.
It's a great point.

Speaker 8 If it was a delayed call, you're right, Dave. It's in the heart of the game.
You're like, okay, I can understand.

Speaker 8 The game is over. Like, why is it that big a deal? But Carly, I think he's frustrated for reasons beyond just that play.

Speaker 4 Next week is Thanksgiving as the magic day where all the teams look at their rosters and look at the standings and see where they are in the league so far this season.

Speaker 4 Outside of Canada, because we talked about what's going on up north, let's look at the entire league, look at the standings, who's going to make a move, who's not going to make a move, who's going to make the playoffs, and who's going to miss out.

Speaker 8 So we look at specifically the East. Just to again show the parody here, like it's crazy how many teams, like from 24 points to 22,

Speaker 8 there's 12 teams. Like it's crazy.
So how tight it is. So in the East, it's very difficult to predict who's going to be better.
Like Carolina and Jersey, the head of the class, Islanders.

Speaker 8 But again, you've got literally every team separated by six points. So I would expect that your Florida Panthers are going to be better, 23 points in 20 games.

Speaker 8 The Bruins are a fascinating story because they look terrible. And we interviewed Marcus Sturman in Ottawa and he's a great guy.
He's grinning the whole time.

Speaker 8 Like, he ain't going to be smiling in February. His team keeps it up.
They lose 7-2. Then they ripped off like seven straight wins.
Like, oh my God, the Bruins are atop the Atlantic.

Speaker 8 Now they've only had one win their last four games. So I find them very fascinating and schizophrenic, but I think they're a better team they've shown.
The Capitols, they've taken a step back.

Speaker 8 The real question to me, Roy, at least in the East, is like, which of these so-called surprises continues? Like, I think if you look at Carolina and New Jersey, it's okay, I expect them to be good.

Speaker 8 But Islanders, Detroit, Pittsburgh, which of those three is actually legit?

Speaker 8 Because once you get the 20-game mark, which we're about to hit by Thanksgiving, you say, all right, these teams are actually good or they're not good. So that's concerning.

Speaker 8 As far as the West is concerned, Colorado is incredible. This is going to be one of the great teams ever.
14-1-5. Them and Dallas together.

Speaker 8 We knew last year how good that matchup was in the Western Conference. We can only hope to get that perhaps in a Western Conference final.
I think Anaheim is here to stay. Pleasant surprise.

Speaker 8 Seattle, I'm interviewing Lane Lambert today. He's done a great job with their defense.
Decor looks like he's taking a big step. Eberly, as far as the leadership role.

Speaker 8 And those bottom drag teams, I think, are not good. Vancouver, St.
Louis, Nashville, Calgary. Edmonton's better.
Hopefully at some point. That's kind of it.

Speaker 8 The Chicago, like Ethan mentioned, 10-6, and 4, like 24 points in 20 games. They're a fun team right now.
I hope they can hang.

Speaker 6 So I said before the season, I felt a little sheepish after the first couple weeks of the season, but before the season, I said that I thought San Jose was going to contend for a playoff spot by the end of the year.

Speaker 6 Now, they're one point out right now after a horrible start, Adnan.

Speaker 6 Am I going to be proved right or are the Sharks going to sharks?

Speaker 8 It would be an incredible prediction, David. I don't think it'll happen.
I think the Sharks are going to shark. But I'll tell you this.

Speaker 8 We had this conversation with the great Chris Bronger, Hall of Fame defenseman, one of the greats ever.

Speaker 8 And I said to him, who is is going to be quicker to a Stanley Cup, Connor McDavid or Connor Bedard? And he said, I'll go a wild card with you, and I'll say Macklin Celebrini.

Speaker 8 I was like, Wow, imagine Celebrity and the Sharks win a cup before McDavid and the Oilers and Bedard and the Black. Can you imagine?

Speaker 4 People love Celebrini around the league, man. Can you imagine? They love him.
Their heads would explode.

Speaker 6 They would be crazy. Oh my God.

Speaker 8 Adnan, do you ever won a Stanley Cup and you're telling me Celebrity's going to lead them to a cup before? McDavid to the Sharks.

Speaker 6 Here it goes. McDavid to the Sharks.

Speaker 8 That's what happens. I love it.

Speaker 7 So, Adnan, I am very eager for also for Thanksgiving, but not because of hockey.

Speaker 4 The lights again. Yes.

Speaker 4 Oscar movie.

Speaker 3 Of Stranger Things.

Speaker 8 Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 8 No, no, I don't watch it. I'm aware of it.

Speaker 4 My wife and my kids watch it.

Speaker 8 I gave you a yeah. Like, I know, Rose.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 4 Adnan, you're killing me here.

Speaker 8 This could be like Stranger Things. I'm like, yep, I'm aware of it.
I know it. My wife watches it.

Speaker 8 They're excited. The final season.
Yeah. I love Maya Hawk.
Only because I love Ethan Hawk so much. He's got a great film called Luke.
She's ticked down. I know that's his daughter.

Speaker 8 So by association, I root for her. Once again, Rose, I'm unfamiliar with the topic.
Go ahead. Tell me how excited you are for Stranger Things.

Speaker 7 I'm telling you, this is one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. And people are like, have you watched Breaking Bad and everything? I'm like, yes.
The Sopranos. Yes, I have.

Speaker 7 I have watched all of them. And I still rank it as one of my favorite shows of all time.
And people are like, why would I watch it?

Speaker 7 And then I'm telling you, if you like movies, if you like how it's done, the arts of characters and everything, I am telling you, go watch.

Speaker 4 If you like movies. I can't get past that one.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 4 I think he likes movies.

Speaker 7 I know. It's a masterpiece.
Like the music, the art, the acting.

Speaker 7 everything.

Speaker 7 This voice I cannot call.

Speaker 6 She's giving you an assignment.

Speaker 4 But yeah, I think.

Speaker 8 David, Rose, it sounds like a lot of work. The two of the shows you mentioned, by the way, are my two favorite dramas.
The Sopranos and Breaking Bats. So I can't imagine stranger things.

Speaker 8 It's going to be better than those two. So I'm skeptical like all those other people you're talking to.
But, Rose, more importantly, isn't this like the fifth season?

Speaker 8 I'm guessing at least 10 episodes. That's like 50 episodes you're expecting me to pound through.
That's a lot of work.

Speaker 6 Not in time for the new season, Adnan, but you could certainly get started and work at your own pace.

Speaker 7 24, because season one is eight, season two is eight. So it's just 24.
And the new season is going to be nine.

Speaker 6 The new season is like, every episode is like two hours, too, right?

Speaker 4 Yeah, because

Speaker 7 yeah, and the last

Speaker 4 episode is going to be two parts of two hours. How about this?

Speaker 8 How about this?

Speaker 8 Since my wife and one of my kids is definitely going to be watching, they're locked in. They're excited, like you.

Speaker 8 Why don't I just pick it up with them watching the final season and they can fill in the holes for me as I'm watching? Okay. Is that possible?

Speaker 4 Okay, so

Speaker 7 yes. So you can talk theories and then you can be like, okay, my guess is here.
These people are going to die. These are not going to die.

Speaker 4 So we can play the game. Yeah.
Yeah.

Speaker 8 Imagine not watching the Sopranos, but then watching the final season.

Speaker 8 Oh, man.

Speaker 6 We've missed so much.

Speaker 4 You're going to

Speaker 4 two-hour episodes. Get over yourselves.

Speaker 1 Who are you saying that to us?

Speaker 4 No, not you guys. Right, in general.
I get it.

Speaker 1 I get why you like the show. It's a great show, whatever.

Speaker 4 Just two-hour episodes in general.

Speaker 4 Just make 18-hour-long episodes. That's fine.
I'm good with that.

Speaker 6 I think what they're doing is they're trying to not make the mistake that got made at the end of Game of Thrones, where they knew they had to end it by X season.

Speaker 6 So they crammed in so much shit to what was it, like five or six episodes in that last season of Game of Thrones and basically ruined one of the best shows of all time.

Speaker 4 One of the best shows of all time. One of the best shows of all time.
For sure. Yeah.

Speaker 6 So I'm thinking maybe Stranger Things said, okay, we're going to still finish it this season, but we're going to pack each episode. We're going to get every piece of crucial information.

Speaker 6 Every storyline is going to make sense. So I'm hoping that they're not going to ruin this one because, God, I don't know.
I love Game of Thrones almost as much as I love my kids.

Speaker 6 And the way that they ruined it in that last season, they ruined it.

Speaker 4 I was like, almost as much as you can. I'm going to start it.

Speaker 4 That show was so good.

Speaker 7 So, but when I started Gum of Thrones the first time, I was like, what is this? No. Then the second time, I was like, oh my God.

Speaker 7 And then when I got to the seventh, I was like, I was better off because watching that last season was the worst.

Speaker 6 Like, I can get through the first two or three episodes of the last season, but once you get past the big battle, it's like, all right, I'm done.

Speaker 4 Oh, okay. All right, all right.
And

Speaker 4 I've had enough, and Ann's had enough.

Speaker 8 I've definitely had enough, but Bros was in Bruce being like flavor-flavored, like David's hype man, whatever he was saying. She was like, Definitely one of the best.

Speaker 4 Yeah, girl,

Speaker 4 and Nan Burke of uh Prime Monday Night Hockey. Have fun in Los Angeles, brother.

Speaker 8 I appreciate you so much.

Speaker 4 I'll see you soon, Adnan. Yes.

Speaker 8 I bet you I'll see you in two weeks. I booked my rental car.
I'm landing at the Orlando International Airport. I'm picking up the rental, driving to Miami.

Speaker 8 I will see you boys in two weeks, December 6th. Let's get it.

Speaker 6 Absolutely.

Speaker 4 Looking forward to it. Thank you, brother.

Speaker 8 Thanks, boys. Appreciate you.

Speaker 7 The Florida Panthers do better in the upside down.

Speaker 4 We are in the Panthers then, as Rose just decided to start this segment and not tell me about it. So I'm a bit off on what we are doing here.
Thank you very much. The upside down.

Speaker 4 That was good, though. Yeah.
The Panthers have won four out of the last five. Here's what happened so far.
This week,

Speaker 4 on Saturday, they lost to Tampa 3-1. Monday, they beat Vancouver 8-5.
And last night, they beat New Jersey 1-0. They have Edmonton.
Tomorrow, before they go on the road to Nashville, now,

Speaker 4 as I said, they won four out of their last five. The win versus the Canucks, vastly different from the win last night against the Devils.
They played everybody. Both teams played in mud.

Speaker 6 That was a weird game. Weird.
Weird game.

Speaker 4 The Canucks game was weird. Yeah, that was a really weird game.

Speaker 6 They were down 2-0. They were up 5-2, tied 5-5, and then they won 8-5.

Speaker 4 Yeah. That's exactly what happened.
A lot of staying power by the Panthers there. I mean, they can score.

Speaker 6 They gave up 15 shots. They scored eight goals and they gave up 15 shots.

Speaker 6 Like, forgetting how the final ended, that right there, it's like, okay, even though they gave up five goals, like, that's, that's a really dominant game, you would think.

Speaker 4 Sorry, they outshot Vancouver 41 to 15. Like, you can say it's a bad night for Bob because five went in on 15.

Speaker 4 The Panthers got out-XG'd in that game.

Speaker 4 The Canucks actually had more expected goals because all of their shots, like, if you watch back, all five of their goals were like point, one of them was weird. The first one was really weird.

Speaker 4 Like, Bob had it covered and then he kind of didn't, and then it went in.

Speaker 4 Like, all of their shots were like right there point blank chances so like yeah bob when you see five on 15 you're like god he had a terrible night but at the end of the day like you know a lot of those chances were right out in front and the defending was really bad for the panthers but they really tightened up last game they were fantastic uh defensively yesterday and bob was great as well sergey borbroski

Speaker 4 whenever he has a bad game comes right back and has a very good game. That's what happened against New Jersey.
In fact, both goaltenders had good games. Jake Allen was good as well.

Speaker 4 And

Speaker 4 it seems to be a common occurrence where the Panthers can't finish the shots, especially Cardiver Hagee. What's going on with him?

Speaker 6 It's been the last couple years now that Verhe is just not finding the net the way that he had for his first several years with the Panthers.

Speaker 6 Talking about shooting percentage, his first, what, four years with the Panthers? 16.8, 14.4, 15.3, 13.8. That's all pretty solid for a goal scorer, right? Yeah.
Last year it got cut in half to 8.3.

Speaker 6 This year that's been cut in half to 4.3. Carter Hagee is just snake-bitten right now when it comes to finding the back of the net.
Is that just it?

Speaker 4 He's just snake-bitten?

Speaker 6 Yeah, he's still getting shots. He's still creating opportunities.
He's still great both sides of the ice. He's still the same tenacious player that he's always been.

Speaker 6 It just feels like he can't beat goaltenders right now.

Speaker 4 Jack Devine had his first game last night, and he looked... He looked good.
I mean, he made plays. He's confident.
He had that. Yeah, he made confident plays.

Speaker 4 He had that one turnover in his first shift, but he kind of got it together after that. And

Speaker 4 really, we saw some good plays, good passes by Jack Devine last night.

Speaker 6 It was nice to see. Like, he's leading the Charlotte Checkers in scoring this season.
Obviously, Paul Maurice has talked about his championship predigory.

Speaker 6 He won the national championships with the University of Denver before coming to

Speaker 6 the pro hockey. I was going to say the NHL, before coming to pro hockey.
Then he went with Charlotte last year on their run to almost winning the Calder Cup.

Speaker 6 They came up short to the Abbotsford Canuts and Sheilovs with your Penguins. But no, I liked what I saw a lot.
And just the word that you said, that I said, confidence.

Speaker 6 When you see it from a guy playing his first NHL game, that the game's not too big for him, that's big for me.

Speaker 6 Because I think this year, with like Mackie Samostevich talking about younger guys, the confidence that he's shown this season, it's been spectacular.

Speaker 4 Couple things. One on Verhege, that 4.3 shooting percentage, second worst on the team among players that have actually scored a goal this year.
The last, the worst would be Erin Eck Blatt at 3%.

Speaker 4 Guys, let's all do an exercise here. It's 20 games in.
Let's all just take a big, deep breath. Ready?

Speaker 4 With me. Ready?

Speaker 4 I get it. Big, deep breath, guys.

Speaker 2 This is 20 games in.

Speaker 4 20 games in.

Speaker 4 20 games in. The Panthers are one game off of their pace the last two seasons, and that's without Alexander Barkov, Matthew Chuck, Dmitry Kulakov, Jonah Gadjevich, Etu Los Serainins now on

Speaker 4 the injured list.

Speaker 4 Tomas Nosek,

Speaker 4 Cole Schwint, now like seven, what is it? six, seven, eight guys that have been out.

Speaker 4 It's crazy. The Panthers, for all the injuries, and it looked rough.
Like some of those games at the beginning of the year were tough. They were getting beaten down.
They're 6-3-1 in their last 10.

Speaker 4 They're one point out of a playoff spot with a game in hand on the Washington Capitals.

Speaker 7 Penalty for time.

Speaker 4 They're going to be fine. Wasn't it you?

Speaker 4 That was panicking? I'm doing

Speaker 4 a dang Roy. I'm doing a thing.
No, that was

Speaker 4 panic. Here's what I said during training camp.
What I said during training camp was that if the Panthers don't have Alexander Barkov in the playoffs, they're not going to win the Stanley Cup.

Speaker 4 And I stand by that. I still don't think they're going to have to get Barkov.
The season was over today. I said, it feels like your season ends before it even starts.
Semantics.

Speaker 1 When the Panthers, when you've won two Stanley Cups,

Speaker 4 when you've won back-to-back Stanley Cups, get out of here.

Speaker 4 Not winning the Stanley Cup is a failure, right? When you've won two in a row. So it feels like your chances at a Stanley Cup end when Alexander Barkov goes down.

Speaker 2 We'll see how everything plays out. But

Speaker 4 the Panthers are in a really good spot. They're still going to be a playoff team.

Speaker 4 They're playing really, really good hockey despite all the injuries. Kachuk will be back, hopefully, soon.
You know, Nosic eventually, Gajovich eventually, Cooley eventually.

Speaker 4 And then we'll see about Barkov come playoff time. This team is going to be fine.
Well, listen, not winning the Stanley Cup is a failure, even if you did win the Stanley Cup last season.

Speaker 4 That's just the way things are in this league. The Panthers are coming up on the Edmonton game tomorrow at home, the last game in this

Speaker 4 homestand before they go up to Nashville and then come back for another homestand.

Speaker 4 What do you see in this Edmonton game? Because Stuart Skinner has not been good.

Speaker 6 No, I don't think he's going to play either. I think Calvin Pickard, he played pretty well.
Was it last night in Tampa or Tuesday?

Speaker 4 Yeah, last night in Tampa.

Speaker 6 And Skinner has just not been good at all this season. I mean, his goals against is three.
His save percentage is 882.

Speaker 6 And he's not coming up with timely saves, which was an issue in the the playoffs so uh i think you're gonna see a motivated oiler squad they've lost four or five um they've given up a ton of goals lately so i'm i'm excited for the game ethan roy i'm i'm you know nice little stanley cup final rematch but i'm excited for the game if the panthers don't win it would be a disappointment You said Ethan Roy, Rose?

Speaker 2 You're going to be in Gainesville, Rosie.

Speaker 4 You're going to be at the Gator game. No, Rosie's going to be at the swamp.

Speaker 7 But you can be excited, though. I can also be part of the Ethan.

Speaker 6 Well, I know why you're excited because your guy, your Rip the Ice guy, will be playing.

Speaker 7 No, he doesn't play.

Speaker 4 Oh, he's not.

Speaker 4 No.

Speaker 7 I'm telling you, he's the worst.

Speaker 4 Yeah, he's probably going to be screwed.

Speaker 7 Cruz for you, Noah, but you're not giving me a shit.

Speaker 4 I expect the Oilers to come out firing in this game.

Speaker 4 They're pissed off after the last couple years.

Speaker 4 They're not playing well at all. Pickard, I agree with you, Dave.
I think that's a great point. He's going to be their starting goaltender for the immediate future.
Like, we'll see.

Speaker 4 They need to make a move, though. I think everybody knows they need to make a move.

Speaker 4 But I think they're they're gonna come out fired up it's gonna be a great game i'm gonna be in the building can't wait for it and i'm going to be in the building of course i'll beat the game can't wait

Speaker 4 and uh i'm i'm fired up like this should be this is a

Speaker 4 the oilers are gonna want this to be the game that turns their season around right they're gonna want to give everything they have to come out and beat this team that's beat them twice in a row in the standard cup final but i think the panthers are going to have some good pushback and it's going to be a fun game on saturday night for sure want to put all my heads in that basket if i'm the oilers but to each their own man like if they want to say, we're going to, the Panthers have got, like, no, like, I would now be a good player.

Speaker 4 Smart now, when, right?

Speaker 6 I just don't know if it would be smart just because it's the Panthers.

Speaker 4 For sure. And they don't.
For sure, right?

Speaker 6 They do. In the press box last night, I don't remember who said it, but somebody was talking about quality losses in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 And who's got more quality losses over the last few years than the Edmondson Oilers?

Speaker 6 Like, they've got so much experience.

Speaker 4 Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. We are off next week.

Speaker 4 We will return December 5th for Ant Nan Burke. Thank you for joining us.
For Gino and Danny Benitez in the video room. For Ethan and Rosie, who

Speaker 4 has me upside down with all this crap shit.

Speaker 7 Welcome to the upside down. And if we don't get Bucklock right, we're all trapped in the upside down.

Speaker 4 Oh, God. I don't know what that means again because I don't watch the show.
For David Dwark, my name is Roy Bellamy. We will see you in two weeks.

Speaker 1 Now is a good time to remember where Tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila.
Cuervo. What are you doing here? Cuervo.

Speaker 2 Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up.

Speaker 1 Well, I do know that to be true, but even during ad reads, like, Cuervo, I think you could lay out, especially for one of our great partners.

Speaker 3 Sweet, delicious Cuervo.

Speaker 1 Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots. The same family, the same land, the same passion.
Cuervo. So, enjoy the tequila that started it all.
Cuervo.

Speaker 4 Cuervo.

Speaker 1 The tequila. That invented tequila.

Speaker 4 Brooksimo, Cuervo.com. Please drink responsibly.
