Together again.
Together again.
Together again.
Tig looks like she's coming in hot from a helicopter ride.
Yeah, I am.
What you're seeing behind me is the gulf of america
jesus so it really is officially renamed that um i guess uh you know some people are taking to it others aren't um imagine that
um yeah so that is it's so beautiful it looks fake yeah it's it's really nice it's um
right here in my home state of mississippi mississippi I'm right down the road, actually, from my town.
I'm two towns, three towns down.
Yeah.
Oh, just three towns down.
Yeah.
Three towns down, two towns over.
For those of you who can't see, TIG is in a high-rise hotel sitch with a very beautiful backdrop of what is, I guess, now the Gulf of America.
Formerly the Gulf of Mexico.
I'll be honest, I do still call it the Gulf of Mexico.
Well, as one does when they've known it to be that for many, many years.
And no reason to rename it.
But anyway, this is a nice little commercial, I guess, for
so.
Well, yeah, it looks like you're
like the Tinder swindler and you're trying to pretend that you have a high-flying lifestyle.
It looks like you've pulled down a backdrop.
Tinder Swindler.
I'm in Washington, D.C., if anyone is curious.
I care.
I love seat is from.
Are you there to talk about the Gulf of America?
Yeah, renaming.
I'm trying to get it back to Mexico.
Your passion project?
There are a lot of gay flags around here, so that made me feel good.
Really?
Nice.
Yeah.
There's not too many here in Mississippi.
I'll be a shocker.
I don't know.
Maybe it's...
Pride coming up or maybe it is pride.
I don't know.
In October?
Yeah, I know.
Not all the cities do the summer.
And I could be wrong.
I don't know in D.C.'s is this District of Columbia here, what they're doing.
I know Atlanta, they have their Pride in October.
Wait, why haven't they renamed it the District of America?
Tig, I'm here to also get that changed.
Okay, I appreciate all the lobbying you're doing.
Yeah.
I've got my headset on and I will be wearing it to this.
You are punching
to the White House right now
because they really want to know what I think about things.
I promise you.
I think in the White House, they just have a constant stream, like over their PA system, it's just handsome playing all the time, just piped down.
Gotta be
big fans of us over there.
Absolutely.
How long are you in Washington, Fortune?
Just until she gets that work done, right?
I'm never leaving.
Mrs.
Feemster goes, or Ms.
Feemster goes to Washington.
I like Mrs.
Feemster.
I forgot I'm not a Miz anymore.
I'm adjusting.
Are you a Ms.
or are you a Miss?
I think I'm a MS.
Okay.
Right.
Meanwhile, I'm in MS.
I guess you are.
Yes, I am.
Tig and I have to take a second to
acknowledge that we're in the presence of greatness.
Someone
on this pod has a number one hit Netflix show.
Oh, yes.
That's the word.
That's amazing.
Thanks, guys.
Numero Uno.
Wow.
In a lot of places, right?
In random places, I did not expect.
It's number one in Croatia.
It's number one in Norway.
I saw that coming.
You did?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Croatians love a thriller.
I've watched two episodes now on the road.
Thanks, Pod.
Thomas came to the screening in LA.
That was so
many.
That was so good.
I can't wait to watch the rest of it.
I know.
It's really good.
I can't wait to watch it.
May smoking hot.
Now, Tig, let me tell you.
Mae is in a girl.
Tig, girl.
Girl, tell me.
Girl, Tig.
May's in a tank.
They've fully embraced the tank now.
I'm deep in the tank.
And this is coming from someone who is in a sweatshirt.
I'm in a sweatshirt.
That is right.
Okay, so tell me about the tank.
So Mae's character is a cop,
which I feel weird about, but I will say that it's not a copaganda show.
It's not a copaganda.
And you're commenting
on
the systems we participate in.
Wait, are you spoiling everything?
No, no, I'm not spoiling.
It's in the trailer.
May's in their cop outfit.
Also, first time we see May driving a car.
Yes.
I actually.
And it looked convincing.
Really?
Yeah.
It looked like you knew how to drive, and I knew that was a drink.
Okay, see, this is what I picture is May in a car and doing like this with
her hand back and forth.
Yeah, like a child May was slow and steady like 10 and 2 Not even doing too much because you know in in some movies or TV shows there people were driving like this.
Nobody drives like that.
Your car would be
I did have to do this
I was I was told off like I was told that like I always like we did a couple takes and then my co-star was like you gotta stop.
We're driving along a fake road or a straight road.
You gotta stop.
Yeah, straight road.
Hands are steady, babe.
That was the same conversation.
She told me I have mosquito energy.
Oh, yeah.
Which
one means to the actress who plays your wife?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I said, what animal do you think I am?
She said, I think like mosquito.
And they were like, action.
In my head, I'm like, am I a mosquito energy?
Is that a positive?
She later said it was.
Okay.
I liked it.
But she's so good, right?
Isn't she?
Yeah, yeah she's really good and very believable as wait till you see that person wait till you see what she gets up to hold on i'm only two i'm two and a half old hold on hold on how does one make themselves believable as a pregnant woman oh
you know i just had energy
really good synthesis a motherly energy where i was like i believe this well you know what she had just she had had a baby six months prior to filming see okay all All right.
All right.
Fortunately.
The vibe was there.
The vibe knew it.
I don't need to be yelled at.
Not here.
Not here.
Guys,
I was so nervous for the show to come out.
And so I just ran away to Toronto.
Like I got back last night.
I was like, I got to be in my parents' basement, you know, and see old friends.
So I was just pacing around my house.
So I got on a plane.
I went to Toronto.
And I left in like a crazy hurry.
And then I got to their basement.
I have this huge suitcase because I'm only there for four days my dad's like well you packed late right and uh i have this huge suitcase get to the basement i'm unpacking open it up i had brought my synthesizer and i didn't know i i did i guess i had a synthesis
i guess i knew i just i had a i packed it in such a nice second synthesizer should i bring that should i bring this am i gonna use that this week and i thought i might want to use it so i backed packed it up haven't used it yet to this day i haven't used it that's a gnarly thing to travel with well it's about the size of like three laptops.
So, okay, I'm picturing a very long one.
This is a mini one.
No, it was just bizarre that I thought
still got a break.
Still,
still.
Too big.
Too big.
I need to get back to the important part of the show.
Oh, sorry.
Okay.
Tig, girl.
Yes, girl.
Girl, tell me.
Girl, what?
There are two times so far where
May has had to
get up in the middle of the night.
Tell me and go to the bathroom.
Nope.
Better than that.
What?
What does May do?
Has to grab a gun
and go down the steps, but like muscles a glistening.
Let me tell you this.
Whoever filmed May
going down those steps really caught those biceps.
Hello.
Hello, biceps.
Hello, good biceps.
biceps.
Hello, good biceps.
That's good.
So it was.
I'm a Word Smith.
And the show's great.
The show is great.
I'm going to say this is an extra bonus for those that watch.
Oh, my gosh.
I cannot wait.
Are they oiled up?
They are.
If I'm being totally honest,
I love honesty.
I haven't told anyone this.
I have not, definitely not flagged at an interview.
Exclusive right here.
They're not your realm.
They're not your real arms
they're they're prosthetic arms no just
uh and i oh should i reveal this well you know it's similar
it's similar to the lip tane but girls i girls
i contour
in this scenario i i contour
my muscles i got the makeup woman said should i just put a little brown shadowing under the tries
yes girl yes queen yes queen
It worked because I was like, God dang.
Thanks.
I actually did work out so much before those scenes could go.
Nobody here doubts that.
We don't doubt it.
We do not doubt that.
I saw you going down those steps and I said, this show is going to Numero Uno.
In Croatia.
In Croatia.
For sure.
This is shooting straight to number one in Croatia.
But I will say the show keeps you on the edge of your seat.
What's going to happen?
What's unfolding here?
It's spooky.
Yeah, it's spooky as hell.
It really escalates.
By the end, it escalates to real action and horror and spookiness.
But I appreciate that.
Thanks for watching, man.
I appreciate that you added humor in there at different points.
At one point, someone says they want to be a stand-up comedian, and the mom scoffs at what a terrible job that is.
The mom's just like, I'm so sorry.
There's another time when
they assume
the kid assumes that Garde is a lesbian and she's not.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Where does it take place?
In Vermont, but it starts in Toronto.
And then the girls.
Well, I don't, no spoilers.
Yes, don't spoil anything.
No spoilers.
Wait, but can I chime in?
Because we haven't talked about your show, bud.
Can I chime in?
Because we haven't talked about this, that that I went to a screening of Come See Me in the Good Light.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't get to go.
I was filming for both of y'all's things.
I can't, I actually can't, like, if I talk about it too much, I'm going to start crying again.
But, Tig, have you ever seen me like that?
After the, I was wrecked, like something,
because anyway, whatever.
I could go on and on, but, like, you know, when...
Like, Tigs talked about it so much.
And I was like, I'm sure it's going to be amazing.
I'm sure I'll cry.
But I'm like, I don't know, guys.
I feel forever changed from watching it.
So just everybody's got to got to watch it.
It unlocked something where I was actually like, like heaving, sobbing and like couldn't hang out after, like, was like biting.
And then like hugged you and then scurried away.
Cause I was like, I don't know what to do with myself.
But can I add, you didn't just hug me and scurry away.
You hugged me and held on for a good five minutes.
Oh,
I missed this handsome hug.
I know.
It was like a very emotional hug, and like it made me very emotional.
And like when I thought the hug was wrapping up and I was starting to let go, it was not wrapping up at all.
No, you were not.
You held me like a baby.
Yeah.
You know what it is?
Like, I knew I'd be moved by the, you know, exploration of mortality and all that, but it, it ticked so many other boxes I didn't expect and wasn't prepared for around gender and like
mental health stuff and just and also their relationship is so beautiful and aspirational that I just was a fucking wreck.
I don't know, but in a good way, like it was really cathartic, and then I've held on to it so much.
I'm so glad to hear it, and I was so thankful that you came.
And, you know, we're doing a few of these little screenings here and there.
Apple is like
so
behind this film.
That makes such a difference.
Oh, my gosh.
They are going, they they are going for it with us.
I should say it's really funny, too.
Like, that's that's part of why I was a mess after because it's a fucking roller coaster.
You're like, I mean, I was really laughing.
Andrea's so funny.
And I know.
That's what I always tell people: is like, Andrea's live concerts are
so insane from just the depths that they go to to like the comedy,
just the humor.
And then also
so many people respond when I say, oh, you know, do you want to come to the screening or do you want
whatever when I've talked about it?
People often say, am I going to cry or is it going to make me sad?
Which I always find interesting, but of course I understand because people process and handle things differently.
They're going through different things.
But it really is,
I really, it's truly a movie about living and
life affirming yeah it's so life affirming and really at the end as wrecked as it makes you at times
do you not feel like I gotta reevaluate everything when you walk out the door yes I want everyone to watch it also because we death is such a taboo in our society or in Western culture and it it was like such a
an incredible way to go through that process and like what a gift to everyone to be able to watch someone go through that with such grace and humor and kindness.
And
I was like, Yeah, it, it,
yeah,
it's gotta also hit really different
now that Andrea has passed.
Yeah, that does
make it so much more real, probably.
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Harder was there, and yeah, yeah, Meg was there.
Meg was there and read a poem after.
Oh, man, man, I wish I could have been there.
Meg read um Love Letter from the Afterlife,
like I was a goner.
Yeah, I'm gonna cry like a baby, yeah.

Congrats.
I have chills.
I get chills left and right, but thank you.
And
it did hit differently.
I remember, you know, Meg, when
Meg was staying with me the first couple of nights and had just
been at the screening in Maine.
And before I saw it,
Meg was saying, like, oh,
you know, it was so crazy.
I mean, crazy isn't even the word to see it after Andrea passed because
Meg was like, you know, I just wanted to pluck Andrea from the screen, you know,
but also feels very much like
she loves seeing the movie.
She doesn't want the movie to end.
She doesn't want conversations about Andrea to end.
She wants to keep talking about Andrea.
She wants to see everything.
And
a testament to
how sort of healthily
process that all, like to be able to sit in it and face it and get some positive feelings from it as well instead of just run, you know, I think a lot of people would just plow forward and bury their head in the sand because of the grief, but yeah, I and I have to say
it is very different to see now that Andrea's gone, but I somehow fall into this, like, I don't know if it's denial or what, but it makes me feel like Andrea's still there when I'm watching the movie.
And I don't know if that's hand in hand of wanting to pluck Andrea from the film, but I
can feel Andrea so
much.
It's crazy.
It is absolutely crazy.
And,
you know, Megan, well, you'll see this in the movie, but their song
was
Shania Twain's.
Looks like we made it.
Yeah.
Looks like we made it.
Looks like we made it.
We sound just like Shania.
Absolutely.
But it was wild when we got to, I was in London with my family and when we arrived there,
the first day
I was walking down the street with Max and Finn and there was just this street performer.
We came around the corner and he was just standing alone singing that Shania Toyne song.
And I just stopped in my tracks.
I told Max and Finn that was Andrea and Meg's song and they just stood there.
And we just watched this guy sing it.
And then the very next day we were having high tea
with Stephanie
with Stephanie and her mother.
And somebody
in the
room was hired to play the harp.
And
they sat down right behind us, and we looked at each other like, oh boy, because it was clearly going to be so loud right behind us.
Yeah, when someone lugs a giant harp in and sats up right behind you.
Guess what the first song was?
Stop.
That song?
That song.
Whoa.
Yes.
that's wild.
Wow, what a random song.
Yes, and that's not a harp song.
That's crazy.
Um, do you think I ever hear that song?
I'll send you, I'll send you the footage of both.
I videotaped both of it and sent it to Meg.
That's insane.
That's my harp impression.
Meg was like, Andrea clearly went to London with the Notaro Allen family.
Oh, no, seriously, yeah.
Um, and uh, and we had had a conversation about this
very exciting thing that we're going to be doing,
that Meg and I are going to be doing with a couple other people.
And
she was like, I feel like this is Andrea's
go for it.
Oh, yeah,
yeah.
Anyway, thank you again for coming.
It just really meant a lot.
And, you know, of course, I would love for
you, Fortune and Thomas, to see it, but when, if and ever you're free.
Um,
and if not, you know,
I absolutely want to see it.
I think it's worth seeing in person, wouldn't you say?
I want to I very much would like to see it in
that capacity.
Yeah, it's it'll be beautiful when people watch it even at home.
Yeah, but like in a theater, if if you s if it's coming to a film festival near you or there's a screening,
I cannot emphasize enough that like how incredible it is to see
yeah, like the way you were, like, oh, I've been getting up at dawn and watching the sunrise and walking.
And now that I've seen the movie, I'm like, yeah, it's because it's also nature is like a character in it.
It's so beautifully shot.
And it just, you're like, oh, yeah, we're on a beautiful planet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Almost as meaningful as my biceps.
Yes, yes, yes.
Well, I don't want to overshadow either of you, but I am currently playing the voice of a refrigerator on Dan Stallhouse.
so sorry to take your shine away the buds
girl congrats that's that had the energy of them why go as alf
nothing will summer to the refrigerator whoa um is it is gabby's dollhouse animated uh it's both okay okay real wait i'm sorry i'm not familiar with gabby's dollhouse it's like a popular series that's like a real girl and animated
things in the dump.
Yeah.
She like shrinks down and then goes in.
Yeah.
This is the, it's very popular with young, like,
like,
young, young girls.
And it's not a movie.
Like four?
Like, five.
Yeah, four, five.
Wow.
And
this is a...
the movie version like Kristen Wigg plays the villain and
Gloria Stefan's in it.
And then I'm one of the animated girl.
I love me some Gloria Estefan.
I know.
I love her too.
Gloria Fortune.
I will wrestle you for that woman.
I love her.
She used to watch Chelsea lately back in the day.
I love her.
She yelled my name down the hall once.
This is like when I first got on the show.
She was like, Fortune!
And I was like,
oh my God.
I about passed out.
I love her so.
I did some event with her, I think, in Florida.
And I was like, I mean, mean, I, you know, my, I'm a little more in the music world, and so my excitement.
No, no, I'm saying, like,
I just mean, like, as far as TV or film, like,
I'm like, oh my God, Gloria Stefan.
That's where I'm like, there she is.
She's incredible.
She's so cool.
She's so talented.
I just love her.
Anyway, Kristen Wigg as a villain is my, if you, like, if you had to boil down my sexuality to like a few sentences, one of those sentences would be
Kristen Wigg as a villain, yeah, hilarious.
I, of course, love Kristen Wig too, because I am alive and I am a human.
Yeah, she played the villain in Barb and Starr.
Oh, yeah.
No, wait, wasn't
wait, Barbin played both roles.
Oh, yeah, of course
she did.
Who was she?
She was
star and
her no, yeah.
she was one of them.
She was far more star.
She was in the movie.
She also played the villain.
Yeah.
She's so funny.
She's so funny.
Did you want to tell us how high tea was really quick?
Oh,
my gosh.
Well, I love that you guys think we only had high tea once.
Oh,
multiple times.
Oh, my gosh.
Max and Finn have been drinking tea since they were two years old.
And in our front living room,
there's no TV.
It's just a fireplace.
And
we got them these little tiny mugs when they were, you know, two.
And
we would put tea on and then we would go sit in that room with them.
And we would say, now let's sit down and have tea and talk.
And
so, of course, the tea was like room temperature.
But
we wanted to like get them into that world of like having tea and chatting with people.
And it was so cute because when they were two,
they would just sit there, you know, in their little diapers.
And
I mean, they had pants on, but whatever, and having having tea and talking about their dump trucks and you know
and whatever.
And it was just so cute.
So, they've tea has been in their world since they were two.
Tea for two year olds.
And
so, they were very excited to go to England and have tea.
And so every day we had
every day.
Did you go to the Wolseley?
Where did you go for tea?
Most of the time we were, Stephanie was filming in the countryside.
Oh, nice.
And so we were put up at a hotel that had
a lot of activities, like pool.
You could swim in the pool.
They have a golf course.
You could rent bikes.
They had archery.
So we stayed there for like four days and there was a little
you know there the hotel was so big it had several different restaurants and is this soho farmhouse no it's called the grove oh yeah yeah yeah oh you know the grove i know the grove um yeah so that's where we stayed and um
and so there was a restaurant in the at the grove that we went and had high tea at and also stephanie's mother's mother so stephanie's grandmother is from England.
And she met us out there.
And it was a big deal for her to
have tea every day with her grandsons.
I'll send you a little sandwiches, little
tiny little cakes.
I love all the treats.
I love all the little desserts and scones.
It was so fun.
And, you know, they were just so
they had never been, aside from Canada, they hadn't been out of the country.
And so
no way.
Yeah, they should
be ready to be in another country.
Like everything we did, especially Finn, he would be like,
everything's just so different here.
Like, wow.
Oh, my gosh.
Look at that.
Look at the, you know, like the telephone booth.
And, oh, my gosh, the double-decker bus.
It's just so crazy how different everything.
Like, they were just so excited.
Oh, I love that.
Yeah, it was really sweet.
It was so fast.
And they, if I can brag for a second,
they hardcore acclimated like nobody's business.
And we got a hotel aside, like outside of Stephanie's hotel the first night because we didn't want to bother her while we were up at weird hours.
Yeah.
And I made them stay up until seven o'clock, which was still a little early because they woke up at like 2.30 in the morning.
and we started our day at 2 30 in the morning and then we i had them stay up i was like you guys have to stay up till eight tonight and they stayed up till 9 30.
max did fall asleep at dinner but they did so well and and then after that second night they were perfectly fine wow and it's really incredible because that's a hard hard quick haul that we did
yeah and they are just nine you know.
Yeah, right.
I would not have pulled it off as well, so I'm very impressed by them.
I hope they came back with full English accents
Finn did start kind of talking, he'd be like, Should we go?
And then I also found uh, we got them journals, and I found um a to-do list that Matt Finn had put together that he checked off of like, you know, phone booth, black taxicab,
big ben and uh it was really cute did you tell him i'm good at accents um no i didn't they must know that everyone knows that a spa tea
is this australian you want a spa tea
which which accent is this the croatian i think cockney it is croatian can we hear your croatian accent I wouldn't even pretend to know how to do that.
I was impressed with Tony Kletz American accent.
Isn't it great?
It's so great.
And in my show, her accents.
When I went home, my friend showed me these old videos she found of us when I was like 14.
I just watched these a couple nights ago.
And I'm doing this weird voice.
Like, it's like I'm, it's like a...
just trying to be cool or something, but it's like, yeah, I don't know.
That's pretty cool.
Like, it's really weird.
It's just a weird intonation.
And
yeah, I don't know.
I guess it's pretty cool that we go to the store.
It's weird.
It's weird.
I don't know what movie I watched and was like, let me be that guy.
And
you were just doing it like as a bit?
No, I was like, this is my voice.
What's your new accent?
Yeah.
Hey, okay.
And we were both like, why are you talking like that?
Yeah.
And then, oh, man, some of the stuff on these videos is.
Comedy's not evergreen.
Some of the things I'm saying
would not fly.
I mean, not in a dark way.
I just kind of was like, I'm an edgelord, you know?
Yeah.

Well, should we get to our
question asker?
Okay.
Today's question asker is an Emmy and Grammy nominated Golden Globe winning actor, singer, and author who came to fame for playing Kurt on Glee.
He is the author of over 20 books.
I don't think a lot of people,
I mean, these books are very popular, but I don't think a lot of people know that.
Wow, wow.
Including the New York Times best-selling fantasy series, The Land of Stories.
He stars in the upcoming horror comedy, The Restoration at Grayson Manor.
My friend...
Chris Culfer is asking today's question.
Hey, Handsome Pod.
It's Chris Culfer here, and it is an absolute honor to be asking you guys a question.
I am a huge fan.
And my question is:
Do you believe in past lives?
If so, who do you think you were?
And if spiritualists are correct and time doesn't exist on the other side, is it possible that more than one person is walking around with the same soul at one time?
And is that what the true meaning of soulmates and soul groups is?
Oh,
this is a May question.
Barking up my dream.
I thought he was going to say, is this the true meaning of Christmas?
Christmas.
I love Chris.
He's so sweet.
Out.
I'm going to introduce you to.
Does he have the best head of hair you've ever seen?
Unbelievable.
What about mine?
Yeah, Chris is incredible, too.
Also, speaking of arms, he's he's ripped, oh, ripped, so handsome.
I feel like we even look kind of related.
Like, I think we got to have dinner and talk about it.
I'll make friends, I'll make it happen.
Yeah, he's the sweetest, he got famous at like 15 or something, and it's one of the most normal down-to-earth that glee show is humongous, yeah.
Um, and he absolutely crushed it on there.
I don't know, it's just the loveliest guy.
Also, how cool to then go and write books.
I know.
20 books is insane.
But it's a whole series that, like, with all these, this,
this made-up world, this, it's very big and creative.
And is it for kids or like adults?
It might be, I think it's like middle school, kind of?
Yeah, middle school, I believe.
And his partner, Will, is amazing.
They're awesome guys.
Okay.
Energy can't be created or destroyed.
We know this scientifically.
Sure.
Sure, bud.
So we also believe you.
Okay, but my son Max says
until we find
the source of energy.
Of course.
But how will we find it?
I don't know.
We don't know where it goes, but we know that when you die, you lose, is it 21 grams of weight?
And no one knows why.
And that might be the soul.
I don't know.
But I think think of all the theories, reincarnation does make a lot of sense to me: that there's some source energy, and then we're
little droplets of it, you know?
Yeah.
And, and
so I'm going to say, yes, I believe in past lives.
But that we might be a vapor in one life.
We might be on a different planet in another life.
A vapor?
What a bummer.
What a waste.
Would you be pissed if you came back and said,
clearly?
I want to have been something.
I want to have been something else.
Like what?
What do you want if you do not believe in vapor?
I believe in past lives as well.
Yeah, I love it.
I'm going to assume I was some sort of farmhand.
Oh, I think that's a safe assumption.
Because of the headgear?
Maybe.
What do you mean?
Why?
No, I just feel like I was probably kind of like
the farm boy in
Princess Bride.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I like that.
Farm boy, fetch me that picture.
That was me.
And
some hot chick was
falling in love with.
That you wish.
That was me.
I'm basically, that was me.
You were Wesley.
Okay.
Yes.
And so, but couldn't you?
Couldn't a past life also be
from like, what year were you born?
moi
okay
in the past life in the past life you were French my goodness you were just channeling your Napoleonic
person
1980
okay
could could a past life be from the 70s or does it have to be
yeah
an answer?
Yeah, I mean, I'm just, I'm going to say, yeah, it could be from the 70s.
And
I think that
as
you learn something, and so I think people who are old souls and have had like many lives are sort of further along in their process of the school of life.
I mean, this is all, I'm talking out of my, but you know, these are things I intuitively.
Out of your what?
Anus.
Out of my fortune,
Marie.
Not today.
Tig was a school teacher in the past life.
A Catholic school teacher.
Yeah.
But I kind of wish that we all had glasses where if we looked at each other, it would just show like special glasses you put them on and it would show how many lives everyone's on.
So I could look at it.
That would be so cool.
That's like an episode of Black Mirror or something.
Yeah, because you don't want to be...
Someone asks you out.
You look at, you put your glasses on, they're on their third life only.
No, thanks.
I want someone who's on life 20, 30.
oh but also they've learned
sometimes you meet people you know where you're like i know this person yes like i
they are so familiar to me i have to say my
poverty
and it's not just because i knew poverty from survivor but when when we met i really felt like i mean i yeah i've yeah we both were like we've met we know each other
so take what do you think about past lives do you believe in them yeah i mean i feel like it's one of those things where i
it'd be so cool if that exists you know if that's real uh i think that yeah i don't know i don't know what i have you're kind of on the fence about it i am a little on the fence that's fair but i you know there's i can follow that thought and and be like, yeah, that makes sense.
That'd be cool if that was
that was, yeah, I don't know.
I mean I'm just I'm not confidently right
Chris was talking about um soul groups and things and and soulmates and like it does I mean this is is
a lot of people are into simulation theory because it feels like there are only a handful of algorithmic types of people and so you meet someone you go oh we must be the same programmer made us like we're the same blueprint of person like
so that could be another explanation
well hit he was saying can there can what was it that can two people have the same soul so that's what a soulmate is like
you're like oh we have the same soul like one soul split into two things maybe i had to
flame that i've never thought about i don't know i just always assumed one soul was kind of bouncing around
one at a time do you think that we knew each other in a past life all of us
Okay,
you think no, Tig?
Okay, riddle.
What if it's olden timey days, and it's like a pirate ship?
And
what position would we all have on the ship?
I think I'd be cabin boy, obviously.
Cabin boy, yeah, you like that in your sexual fantasies.
Yeah, I do.
Actually, let's get off this subject.
I'm getting too into it.
Tig would probably be the captain, though yeah would you be captain why would I be captain I don't know are you good with directions I mean I can drive a boat I can drive a boat I can drive a motorcycle I can't even drive a car I'd be the one getting the people together for the poker game at night yeah you would be yeah why not the fun guy who's the fun one yeah who the captain's like can you just
Show me the map already.
I have to just focus the whole time.
Yeah, you're the cabin.
Sorry.
You're just standing at that big ship's wheel, just staring at this constellations navigating.
But who do y'all think that y'all?
Okay, Tig, say that you did believe in past lives.
I know you're not totally against it, but you're not totally for it.
If you had to guess who you were in a past life,
what would you think you were?
A cat or a bird.
Oh, an animal.
Interesting.
Okay.
Cat or a bird, two natural enemies.
That makes sense as to why you don't want to eat animals.
Right.
Because you were one.
Deep.
Deep, right?
Real deep.
Deep as the Gulf of America.
But why
those particular animals?
I just...
When you asked me that question, my brain did not go to, my heart, soul, brain, everything did not go to a person.
It went to
cats.
I mean, honestly, as we mentioned, I'm on the 26th floor here.
Birds come
flying by
so close to this window with wingspans of like,
I mean, honestly, it seems like three feet.
Gigantic birds.
And
I just, I'm so envious of them.
I just think birds are the most incredible,
incredible creatures.
And you know, I love a cat.
Yeah.
It's interesting that if you were a bird that you would then choose to be
you now.
Like you maybe you got tired of that.
You wanted to have a an earthly terrestrial experience.
You wanted to have feet like
Ariel and the little mermaid.
You were always singing it when you were up in the sky.
You were going.
Was I?
Flapping around.
You don't get too far.
Too far.
legs are required for different stand-ups
but yeah that's what i didn't i didn't connect at all
up where they run
up where they stay all day
in the sun
three
what is that from little mermaid oh because stephanie sings that at our house all the time Because you wanted to have legs.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, anyway, I just didn't, my
brain did not, my brain, heart, soul, nothing connected with a person.
Okay.
Actually, I would also be
a fish, I think, too.
Oh, a little dolphin or something?
Yeah, that sounds, yeah, that sounds about right.
I don't connect with being a human in my past life.
Fortunately, you're going farmhand.
I'm going farmhand like the guy from
Princess Bride.
What year would be the farmhand?
What is the era that was?
I want to say, what is that, like 1600s?
It's kind of medieval like that.
See, that's why I was asking.
It seems like people with past lives, ghosts, all that stuff, it always seems to be hundreds of years ago that people go to.
That's why I'm like, could it be just from the 70s?
Yeah, it could be, but maybe after you live a life, you're like exhausted and you just chill up and you take a rest, take a break, and then you're like, all right, here we go.
See, I think a bird probably slammed into a window or something.
Like here in the hotel.
And you were born in.
And then I just, yeah, I was born in Mississippi right after that happened.
On the wings of love.
There's a boat behind you.
Where do we think it's going?
That way.
That way.
Now, May, what did you think you were in a past life?
Well, if my dreams are anything to go by, like if I'm tapping into past lives in my dreams, then I was a murderer with them
because I keep having recurring dreams.
I know, recurring dreams where I've killed people.
I don't, I never, and in the past, I never see myself kill them, but basically I'm on some kind of road trip with friends.
This is a it's happened recently.
And a dream analysis.
Yeah, the police are closing it.
Yeah.
No, no, dig, don't.
That would ruin the pod, dig.
Yeah, I can't pod from Priz.
Tig, thank you.
May pod.
May is completely replaceable.
I can't pod from Priz.
Wait a second.
Not at all.
You're just going to get Chris Cole for.
No, in my dream, I've hidden the bodies badly, and I know that.
And I'm like, any minute now, they're going to float up from the bog that I sunk them in.
And
you know what that is?
Imposter syndrome.
lies that have come to light.
Fortune, I don't have lies that are going to come.
I've never lied.
We know this.
Your internet's coming on at 10.30.
May has only, only told me.
I think it's imposter syndrome.
I think it's feeling like at any minute people are going to figure out, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
And
that's the thing.
And I always, I feel awful in the dream.
I'm like,
my friends are going to be so mad.
And
God, you're, you're even feeling guilty in your dreams.
Yeah, I'm a guilt, I'm a shame-based person.
No, we gotta, we gotta change that.
I know, right?
But the body keeps the score because you got nothing to be guilty.
Guilty.
Oh, I love.
I got a song for everything today, baby.
Yeah, I like it, baby.
We got baby, me or me.
Oh, both of y'all.
Oh, girl, girl.
We got to get this shame guilt stuff out the window.
That's why I'm going to this institution.
Oh, that's right.
You're taking a holiday.
No, not a holiday.
I'm going for.
May is finally going to be locked up.
I'm going to a med spa.
I'm going
to also life coaches.
No, it's actually, I mean, I don't want to say the name of it, but don't say the name of it.
It's like well known, and it's been around since the 60s.
It sounds kind of like the plot of Wayward, so I'm a little worried I'm going to get brainwashed or something.
Well, let's think about the pod, though.
Do you think May's going to change?
Oh, yeah, I already talked about it on the pod, Thomas says.
What do you mean?
Do I think May is going to change?
What if May goes to this and changes?
Guys, I can hear you.
We're like, hold on a second.
You're not as funny as you used to be.
You're all serious now.
If you think I haven't thought about that and I got worried, you're wrong.
And then I felt guilty about it.
And then you felt guilty.
No, but I do want to shake off some past.
Another boat.
Do you think you did that when you were a bird, too?
Guys, look at that.
Guys, boat.
Boat.
No, I want.
Maybe you'll just get really
introspective for a minute.
Oh, for sure.
I think I just want to shed this constant sense of dread and
guilt that I seem to have been feeling.
And then you've got guilty.
I would love for you to get rid of that because you don't need that.
It does not serve you anymore.
I just want six days away from my phone.
And
six days?
They take your phone, man.
Isn't that crazy?
Is that why you're going to get away from your phone?
Honestly, I think that's a huge part of it because it's like a dopamine detox almost, right?
Like, I'm on it way too much.
And
with the show just coming out, like, I'm so glued to my phone, it's impossible not to be.
And it's such a weird, unnatural experience for a person to have, like,
reading stuff about yourself in like
international press.
And it's like,
even if it's positive, it's weird to read.
Cause also
it's not just reviews of the show.
It's always about me personally.
It's like ex-drug addict, trans person, Mae Martin.
And you're like, oh, is that who I am?
Like, it's very weird and unnatural.
Now, are you only reading news from Croatia?
Of course.
That's where I get all my news.
Yeah.
What a wild thing to have as the headline, though.
That wasn't an actual
headline.
You know what I mean?
Like every article is sort of about, it's just like overwhelming.
And you think, oh my God, I guess that lives on the internet forever now.
And it's so exposing and
weird.
Even like a description of your appearance and stuff, it's just not normal to read that.
kind of thing you're like this is fucked so get me to the institute right well you have the double whammy of it.
You're starring in it and also created it and wrote a lot of episodes.
And you know what?
I will say in today's climate, it is like a little scary to stick your head above the parapet as like a trans person.
And already I'm getting a lot of hate.
And I can tune it out.
Yeah, I don't look for it.
So
I don't really have to interact with it at all, but it's like.
you know it's it's creepy and scary and yeah yeah and you think yeah and you know what's interesting because in the show, there's not a single conversation about my character's a trans guy, not a single line of dialogue about it, but people are still so mad, so then you're like, Oh, you are just mad that trans people exist because that's just it's not, and they're like, Stop shoving it down our throats, this ideology, and you're like, What ideology?
Like, it's just a crazy thriller for once and for all,
if you don't have anything
nice to say or any interest, move it along.
If you don't like the show or the movie or the podcast or any, just go find the comedian.
Go find something else.
I don't understand.
How is it affecting you?
I really don't understand when people have to stop and negatively comment.
Write you about the thing they don't like.
Just don't watch it.
It ain't for you.
Yeah.
It's just move along.
It's good enough for the people of Croatia.
Like, come on.
Yeah, but anyway, I went on a little tangent there, but mainly that's why it's good timing, I think, to just go for six days away from my phone.
Yeah,
sorry you're dealing with that, but also how exciting that you're number one in a lot of places.
And also how exciting that Come See Me in the Good Light is coming out.
Also, trans issues and
just
yeah, compassion.
That was one thing I took away from it was like Andrea talking about in the past before they kind of
came into their own identity, like how they felt self-destructive and sort of
didn't like their body and stuff.
And I really relate.
And that's why it's so infuriating because it's like whatever shit I've done in the past couple of years to sort of embrace this identity and I got top surgery and stuff.
It's like, it's only made me just a more productive member of society and a happier person who's kinder to people, kinder to myself.
So it's like, who cares?
Yeah, move it along, move it along,
move it along,
move it along.
If you don't like this episode, move it along.
You don't like the show, move it along.
You don't like the show, move it along.
If you don't like the movie, move it along.
You don't like our comedy?
Move it along.
You don't like the Gulf of
Mexico?
I'm glad you move it along.
I'm glad you brought that full circle.
Yeah, me too.
Move it along.
I actually, everybody's all up in everybody's business.
Just
fucking live your life.
Like, when I like something, I am so into it.
I can't wait to tell everyone about it.
If I don't like it or I don't like a comedian, what do you do?
I'm moving along for it.
I'm not going to tear anyone down.
I'm going to move it along.
Yeah, I hope when I get to this therapy place,
you're the coach, and that's the message.
Well, listen,
should we see what
Chris's answer is?
Yes, I forgot about that part of the show.
Let's move it along.
Let's move it along.
My answer, no.
I don't think the universe would put more than one of me in any place at one time.
All right, love you guys.
Wait, that was good.
Wait, wait, wait, Chris.
I would have bet my life that there was going to be an in-depth answer here.
When did he move it along?
He moved it along.
He sure did move it along.
Yeah.
Wait a second.
So we don't know people even in past lives.
It was kind of like a Cindy Lauper situation where she's like,
Did you
write a cookbook
and then come back to her?
I would.
And
that was such an amazing episode.
But yeah, he had such an
in-depth question.
And then, yep, nope.
He's very,
I mean, what do you think?
Who do you think Chris was in a past life?
You know him, Fortune.
Oh, man.
Well, that he's bird or cat.
That's the two of us.
He also had that high-pitched voice.
So a pretty little lady at some point who's an opera singer beautiful voice have you heard it's from glee but it's him him and i think leah michelle singing sing hallelujah come on get happy the duet that barbara streisand and judy garland did and he he plays judy
stunning his uh he was a thing on tick tock for a long time um that everyone played you know they like mimic what was that oh like they lip sing
that was him one more symptom what did it get me like what is that what is that gypsy rosalie or something i don't know but that was him singing it he's very talented that guy but also doesn't like to answer all of his three questions yeah
and let's go to chris now
uh the answer is no
well what a treat you guys what a treat yes indeed
good to see you guys and um uh i'm headed back to Los Angeles tomorrow.
Great.
I'll be waiting at your front door for one of those emotional hugs.
That was a good hug.
Oh, man, it was actually.
I'll remember that.
I'm on tour.
I'm going to be in Atlanta this weekend.
At the Symphony Hall, if anybody wants to come to that.
And then Chicago Theater,
San Jose and Fresno, California, Charlotte, North Carolina, St.
Petersburg, Florida, and Orlando.
Then for New Year's Eve, Seattle, Washington, Vancouver, and then a bunch of new dates that have been rescheduled to January and February.
So I'm going on my first ever big tour.
What?
Speaking of big.
Stand up or music.
Stand up.
And I'm going on a tour bus and everything.
Oh, yeah, you mentioned that.
Yeah, I'm so scared, but tickets are on sale today.
You can go to maymartin.net.
