Good morning, girlies.
It's the toast.
It's Jackson Claude, and we're your hosts.
It's your favorite show, the fast-five things you need to know.
We'll start your day off swirly.
It's the toast.
I sound amazing.
Welcome back to the toast.
Happy Thursdays.
Good morning.
Good morning.
You know, good morning got cut.
Oops.
It faded out, I'll say, because we have a theme song.
If you're listening to today's episode, you've just heard our pargilicious theme song.
And there wasn't really space for Good Morning Millennials anymore.
And I personally was shoving it out the door because I like to evolve and change and grow.
I love it.
And I just felt like it was limiting us.
It was holding us back from our destiny.
I still do the crunch every day just for
remembrance.
You and Ben still are holding us to that crunch.
And I love the crunch.
And I'm not trying to get rid of the crunch.
Welcome, Joey Camasta.
That's the last time I'll say your name right because I just can't stop saying Joey Comaster.
Yep, say it all how you like it.
And And I was thinking, I say everything, like Taylor, Celine, or you're the only person on earth who does that more than I do.
Yeah, well, it's a big East Coast Italian thing.
Everyone adds an ER to anything that needs it.
It's an Italian thing?
I don't know.
I think it's just like a dialect thing in like Long Island and New Jersey.
I'm obsessed.
I'm Italian.
Yeah, you are.
Are you Italian?
I think so.
Yeah, a little bit.
I think so.
I'm a mutt.
I'm a little Italian, a little Irish, a little sassy.
A little bit of everything.
Yeah.
Well, welcome to the toast.
You have co-hosted the toast so many times, but you and I haven't co-hosted the toast in like five years not since the pink backdrop oh right when we were out in long island city yes good times with the palm trees with the palm trees how we've evolved i know and now we have now we're doing naughty neutrals no and you're so naughty neutral you know what because i saw your set yesterday um and i was like oh my god how chic so i had to get glam today i got a haircut like 9 a.m and i got you know did my makeup and i had to put a cute outfit on to be tonal because everything looks so chic and aesthetic and i don't want to show up here in a hoodie and like, you know, sweatpants.
I understand, but it was hard because it's raining.
I thought about wearing a sweatshirt and then I was like, I'll do a sweater.
Yeah.
I'll keep you a sweater.
Yeah.
This is a toast cardigan, one of my faves that we've ever made.
Well, welcome to the toast.
We'll give everyone like a little, if you're new here to the toast, not you, you're not new here.
We'll just let everyone know, who are you?
Well, I'm a podcaster, a comedian.
Yeah.
I was a makeup artist, a career makeup artist for many moons.
Do you still do makeup?
I'll do it if the timing's right.
You know what I mean?
Like it's, it's like, I'm not like out there like getting jobs and like showing my portfolio and like going on, you know, things like that.
But if something pops up that's salatial, like it's a celebrity I want to work with or like a brand, a brand I'm trying to get something free from.
What was the last makeup you did?
I mean, I do, I do anything for MTV.
So I do a lot of, you know, all the Jersey Shore.
I'll do anything for the Paramount Pluses.
I'll do like Dexter things for Dexter.
Dexter?
Yeah, anything Paramount.
I do a lot of that stuff right now.
Okay, cool.
And you do a podcast with Snookie also, and you used to do Snookie's makeup.
Yeah, that's how we met.
I still do it for you now.
I was going to say, like, if you guys are doing a live show and she needs her face, you're going to do it, right?
Getting on duty, jumping on back on Judy.
Honestly, Claudia needs to learn to do my makeup for those shows.
I know.
Or vice versa.
Yeah, it's hard.
It's hard.
But yeah, I'll do anything for her all the time.
But yeah, we have a podcast.
It's happening with Snookie and Joey every Friday.
We're finding podcasts to be found.
It's such a good podcast.
You guys have been doing it for so long.
You've done it.
Over 10 years.
It's crazy.
You know, the original crew when like when the girls next door were doing podcasting.
Seriously.
And I also had KFC on this week from Marshall, who's also been like, we're in, I know we're all like, I'm in podcasting for eight years, but let's just call it 10.
Like we're the decade-long podcasting club.
Like we've been here for a while.
Yeah, we didn't even know what it was.
I thought it was a radio show.
I mean, I guess it sort of was.
And it was just like a low lift to also upload it on demand.
So sure.
Yeah.
Let's do that.
This is like the toast, I feel like, is like the SNL of the podcasting world.
So like, you know how there's lifers, like, you know, like John Hamm has hosted SNL how many times.
I feel like I'm going to feel like I'm a lifer because I have, this is probably my fifth or sixth time co-hosting.
Yeah.
And you're a fan favorite, like most requested TRL, like everybody.
At the Justin Timberlakes of the.
It's true.
And you're also a professional, which makes my job easy because you're a great podcaster, hence the 10 years in the viz.
10 year.
Is that what that means?
10 years?
Does it mean over 10 years?
Like, actually, no.
But it should.
That's what I always sound.
So I thought I had to be 10, but then like, I could be tenured working as a lunch lady for eight years.
Yeah, no, but then there are some professors I think that get tenured early, and that's a bit of a Skandahl.
And then there are some professors working 20 years who aren't tenured.
That's like the that's also like i guess i have word association if that's a real thing but that same thing like the alzheimer's i was thinking means alzheimer syndrome like it's like you know something that like an old timer gets yeah no no no it's not so far-fetched for both alzheimer's and tenured i think if it sounds the same it should have the same meaning let's just ask chat gbt like what does qualify someone to get tenure i just like now i'm curious i'm curious if we have to like an audition for it
to yes yes are we tenured artists
i think i'm tenured at the toast my watch is backwards.
Which means I'm due for a sabbatical.
That's what it means.
Yeah, well, you get, oh, that's another thing.
You're probably going to, when did you go on pregnancy leave?
Not for a while.
Like, I'll be here for a while, but we are taking a bit of a sabbatical this summer.
Oh, good.
And so we're just working less, which I'm very excited about.
Oh, it's a permanent academic appointment that protects faculty from being dismissed without cause.
Oh.
Commonly after a probationary period of five to seven years at the institution, right?
So we're coming up on like eight years of toast.
So we got a sabbatical.
Yeah.
We gave ourselves one.
I love it.
Yeah,
You were just telling me you have big summer plans.
What are you doing?
Well, you know, I'm just going to, I'm doing me.
That's what I'm doing this summer.
Okay.
I'm just going to focus on passion projects.
It's not necessarily a gap year, but it's like,
it's like, it's like, I'm just going to like, you know, things I haven't done before.
Like, I want to, I want to just do like, you know, pottery making.
Ooh.
You know, there's like, that's not what I thought you were going to say.
Well, I'm traveling.
I'm not traveling a lot.
I'm just going to the Hamptons.
Okay.
Just Hamptons.
And then South Carolina.
I'm going to Charleston for a little bit.
My sister and family lives there.
I haven't seen them in a while.
And, you know, that's a
kiki coastal town.
Yeah.
That's a nice place to go.
I've never been, but I think I would like it.
And focus on cooking things and cocktail making and just, you know, being more present with my cooking.
So yes, in addition to being a tenured podcaster, you are also an excellent chef.
Yes.
You do a lot of high-quality cooking content on Instagram.
Where did you learn how to cook?
My father's a chef.
Oh.
So he's.
I know.
Literally Ben.
I know.
Ben's dad and I,
we've keyed before talking about the biz.
Not keykeying with yours.
talked about the biz and um yeah, so we're I mean, I think that's what Ben and I have a lot in common.
I fourth of July is coming up very soon.
Fork of July is coming up.
I was gonna say, I think you mean fork.
I know, so I'm gonna have to, you know, step it up a little bit to kind of compete with that.
But yeah, I just love, you know, I always love things.
And I watched Food Network growing up.
I used to sit home and, you know, stay home after school and just watch the Food Network.
That's Gianna De Laurentis.
The
Paula Jeans.
I mean, back then, it was
what was that guy I had a crush on?
Abby Flay.
No, it was the other one.
Emerald?
No,
he's like a...
Oh, my God.
He was so cute.
Oh, my God.
I have to think of it.
Okay.
He has the restaurant in San Francisco.
I'm sure people in the comments are like screaming into their phones.
Yes, no, I love who it is.
But he's a cutie pachuty, though.
Hold on.
Who is a food network chef?
Male.
I still have a crush on him.
Sometimes ChatGBT gives us like way too long of answers.
They need to work on that.
I took a beta blocker today, so I can't remember.
What exactly is a beta blocker?
I didn't really take one.
I think it's something for people to get stage fright.
Like something about to go something stressful.
But it's like, is Xanax a beta blocker?
No, I think that's like a
anti-psychotic.
That's right.
Okay, wait.
We have so many who has a restaurant in San Francisco.
He is.
We have so many questions for GPT today.
Coming in.
I think there's a letter T.
T.
Okay, should I tell GPT starts with a T?
They're searching the web.
Several male chefs.
Tyler Florence.
Tyler Florence.
Your boy?
Your boy Ty?
Yes, Tyler Florence.
I used to watch him religiously.
He's so cute.
I love Giata De Laurentes.
Of course, Superfrancon Tessa is my kiki queen.
Paula Dean, I have a soft spot for, you know, a stick of butter and anything.
Yeah.
You know, I'm on board.
I just watch all those, you know, Rachel Ray even.
Well, how do you feel about Rachel Ray's current
I don't know what's going on.
I don't know what's going on.
You know, I'm praying that everything's up on the up, you know, she's okay
health-wise.
You know, but you know, we all get sluggish looking sometimes.
Yeah, and maybe she's been in the game for she's tenured.
She is tenured, and I feel like if she's putting out the videos, it's like her saying, like, I'm good, I'm working, I'm fine.
Maybe she just got like rigged.
I think everyone's, it's mostly about her appearance and her, like, slurring words, is it?
And also, like,
what was coming out, the content of what she was saying as well.
Okay, I didn't know about anything about that, but I do know from a little inside scoop, I knew that she had alcoholism, you know, for a long time.
Oh, wow.
A little inside scoop.
She should drink drink on the job, I believe.
Okay.
I just read it out.
Well, I used to know her makeup bars.
Her makeup bars used to tell me that she was a belligerent drunk on set.
This was years ago, though.
This is like, you know, 20 years ago.
Yeah, because also, like, the behavior in the videos could also just be chalked up to being drunk.
Oh, maybe, maybe it could be the after effects of being a
or just drunk.
Or she could be drunk.
Like, it was giving drunk.
Yeah.
So if it's giving drunk, she probably had a little couple of nibs of pina gregio before the show started.
Did you ever want to be a chef?
You know what?
I saw saw my, no, the thing is, I love fat food so much.
It gives me so much joy, but using it as a career, like a real career, like we have to work in a restaurant.
I don't think restaurant is for me.
I mean, eventually, once I become, you know, a multi-trillionaire, like, I'll open restaurants in Vegas.
I'll sell out for everybody.
I mean, like, the top level.
Yeah, but like, I'm not sitting in a restaurant.
I don't think I have it in me to be working on the line in a restaurant.
I don't think you do either.
I could be a, I could be a, you know what I'd be good at?
Like, you know, when you give like a consultant, like a restaurant consultant.
Okay, and then you give feedback.
Yeah, like I think we need a critite on this menu, or I think we need, like, you know, maybe something with cilantro or, you know, I need a spicy margarita.
Or I, my criticisms are like really like just base level.
Like, I don't have high bar, but like I want a chips and walk, you know, why wouldn't you have that?
Yeah, so I can, I'm good at like telling people what they should be doing.
Okay.
But I don't have the
gusto to start it myself.
That's definitely like a dream job.
You know, it's probably like only there's a few successful ones in the world.
But like to be a restaurant critic where you give just feedback.
That'd be the best job ever because I can go to all different restaurants and just be like, you know, I think this is what you should be doing, and then watch my fruits of my benefit, the benefits of my fruit.
What is that?
The fruits of your labor.
Fruits of my labor grow.
Yeah.
What are your favorite restaurants in the city?
Monkey Bar is one of my favorites.
Have you been?
No.
I'm like very uncultured these days.
Well, it's, you know, it's like a classic New York.
It's just that they just do everything, right?
I love the monkey bar.
I love, um, in Brooklyn, I love Antica Pesa, which is a fabulous place in Rome.
They have a restaurant in Rome.
They do.
Oh, Rome.
Well,
yeah.
Roma.
What else am I loving?
I love, you know, like Avra is always good.
Avra is always good.
Always good.
I love it.
You know, as for a chubby gal, I like a clean eating.
You know, I'll eat clean, but I eat a lot of it.
Like, I'll take down two branzinos if need be.
No, additionally, as a chubby gal, like, I just want like good, healthy food, you know?
But I guess it's hard to come by.
Yeah, but Avra is always good.
You know, anything that's crisp, I like, the thing is, a perfect restaurant, anywhere it has to have these elements.
Um, when I sit down, I need an ice-cold cocktail with a creative cocktail menu where I can choose from the house cocktails and get inspired for the what's to come for the meal.
So, if you know, if they have something, a good base cocktail menu that just also does classics really well, that's great.
I'm starting with an ice-cold cocktail, maybe a martini.
Then, I like to start to munch on something fresh and raw, like a raw preparation, like a crude, or a crudeté, a crudeté, a crude oh, a shellfish tower, a tartare, oh, okay, a raw preparation of something, a chilled raw preparation of something fresh,
Profit vegetable.
And then I like to go into,
you know, little appetizers and things that they have on the menu.
I like to always try to fit in a pasta there.
If I can, if there's pasta on the menu, I'm going to try it just because it's one of my favorite things.
Let's see Italian.
At this point, I'm switching to wine now, and depending on what courses I'm taking.
And, you know, I just like to try all the things.
And then, you know, end my meal with, you know, then switch to an after-dinner drink.
You know?
Beautiful.
You know how to live.
Yeah, I like to do, I like to have a little bit of everything.
And I think, and if any restaurant does those things well, I'm down.
Okay.
Yeah.
Easy to please.
If any restaurants want me to come and give them my advice, just let me know.
Hit me up.
That would be so great.
And you're also like an influencer, so you could also do like a little press for them.
Yes.
Make it like a bigger partnership.
Absolutely.
All about partnerships.
Yeah.
Love that.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm hungry.
So maybe we should get into the episodes.
So let's
die.
Let's crunch into the episode.
Well, we have a lot of stories to talk about today, and I'm glad that you're here because we have some big makeup news.
And so we needed a makeup expert.
That's good.
But I also wanted to update everyone because yesterday I released an interview with Lexi Wood from Summerhouse.
I had recorded it a few days ago because we were celebrating Claudia's son Briss yesterday.
Yes, the Briss of Claudia son.
She also, I feel like.
Photos dropped this morning.
Photos dropped, name dropped, and now I have to just reprogram myself to be like saying it publicly because it just feels
instead of being like so secretive, you know?
Was it name named prior to the birth?
Yes, yes.
Oh, everyone knew.
Family knew, but like really she kept did a really good job of keeping it under wraps because in the Jewish culture, you're not supposed to share the name of the baby until the breast if it's a boy.
So she did a good job of that.
And I was like, oh, well, I'm not going to be the one.
And there's loopholes.
Even now, I still haven't said it because I'm just like, that's ingrained in me.
And there's a lot of, not a lot of loopholes, but
it's a tangled web when you're naming a Jewish boy, I believe.
You have to have the first initial of someone who's passed.
Or what are the rules for this?
So it's nice to name after someone.
And yes, in Judaism, we only name after people who have passed, not people who are still living.
So you could either use the name of someone who has passed who is significant, a grandparent, a parent, great-grandparent, anywhere in the family tree.
You could come up with your own name if you really wanted to.
The initial of the.
Oh, yeah.
You could also use the first initial.
That counts.
Or you could just go rogue.
Like, there's not a rule that you have to name for someone, but it's so meaningful when you do.
Are you named for anyone?
My father, the grandfather and my father, yeah.
Are they Josephs?
Joseph Camestas, yeah.
You're so not a Joseph.
You're such a Joey.
Joey, yeah.
Yeah, but it's a good name that you have that flexibility.
Yeah.
You're not a Joe either.
I mean, I, you know, a funny story is I thought I was going to be called Joe when I was growing up.
And I remember this, remember those Playboy name necklaces that everyone had in the 80s?
No, it wasn't alive.
It was like, it was like a, like a, it looked like a, like a playing card and had like a Playboy bunny cut out and like a heart and it said like your name diagonally on it.
Cute.
And I remember like, it was like, this is real gold.
I say, I'm going to have this for the rest of my life.
So I was like, when I'm older, I'm going to be wearing this for the rest of my life.
So when I'm an adult, I'm going to be called Joe.
So I had it called instead of Joey, I had it said, say Joe.
So I was able to wear it.
So it was everywhere for the rest of your life.
Yeah, because it was gold.
But alas, you're still Joey.
So I still have it.
I still have it to the side.
You have to add a Y.
It's not so hard.
I know.
But yeah, Joseph, Joseph Camasta.
Love that.
So yeah,
that would be perfect.
So Claudia is son is named Ruben Ashre Safer, and he's named for my mom's dad, Ruben.
And we're calling him Ruby.
How did that name not get stolen already?
So
the other sister.
It's a great question.
So I had the first boy, but I went Harry for my grandpa, Harold.
Here we go.
And I just like always loved the name Harry, and that worked out well.
Then, yeah, Olivia went Levi, but she took the L from my mom's mom, Lillian.
As girls and the Australia household, were you girls like, you know, talking about boys and who you're going to marry and stuff like that?
Was that ever a conversation?
Like, no, I'm taking this name.
Don't even try it, girl.
So, like, a little bit, yes, but you can't really like take a name and claim a name, like unless you're having a baby.
So like you could say and make it known your preference.
And Claudia always loved the name Ruben and like we kind of knew that that's what she would want.
So like it wasn't, so we just sort of like left it there for her.
That's so kind.
Yeah.
And I, when it comes to like other names, no, it's kind of first come, first serve, you know, like if you want the name, have the babe.
Yeah, that's why there's a lot of pressure.
Put the ring on it.
We got to get this name before someone else gets it.
Exactly.
There we go.
Exactly.
Oh my gosh.
She got Ruben.
Ruben.
The middle names.
Do Jewish people not do middle names?
I don't know what other people do, but we just do our last.
We have such a great last name, Ashre Soffer.
Yeah, and like, we're all girls, so the name isn't going to be passed down through our family.
So it's just like a nice way to keep it in the family.
And that way, all the cousins have the same middle name of Ashre.
Like my kids are also Ashre, middle name.
Now, do you think there's going to be, do you think on the first of Fork of July, there's going to be a Reuben sandwich?
There better be.
Yeah.
There better be.
I can already see it happening.
I want it.
I know.
I think Reuben sandwich stock,
I'd invest.
It's a trending sandwich now.
What's in a Reuben?
It's corned beef or pastrami.
Yum.
With, I believe, Russian dressing and sauerkraut.
That sounds so good.
And Swiss cheese.
Yeah.
I believe.
I think we need a celebratory Reuben.
Yeah.
On marble rye.
On marble rye.
What a great sandwich.
We're going to get it.
This is making me so hungry.
I know.
I hope it's not contagious.
Turdy was pregnant.
Now you are.
I'm nine months post-partem from Wiggles.
So I'm trying to get my figure back before the summer.
It's not contagious.
I guess it might be.
Like, you come on the toast.
We're very.
I mean, I need Wiggles needs a brother or a sister.
Oh, Wiggles is your new dog.
Yes.
And you just had him nine months ago.
Yes, October 24th.
He was, he was, I bought him right off the internet.
Right.
We were just talking about it.
You did same day delivery.
Same day delivery.
He was there in about four hours.
Do you decide that morning I want a dog?
No, I knew for months.
And I knew for almost a year because I was trying to steal my father's friend's friend's dog that I was always like, I was always babysitting him.
So I had him cloned,
sort of.
Like I wanted to, I went to his like the parents of the bait of that dog that I loved and tried to have them make again.
But one of them was out of commission.
The woman wasn't working anymore as a
wet wife.
I don't know what they call them.
The dog woman wasn't, she wasn't working.
So I had to go outside somewhere else.
So I found the same kind of like, you know, cousins of whatever trickled down to
Brooklyn.
There was a breeder there that had the macro cheekcup long-haired chihuahuas.
Got it.
In tricolor sable.
In tricolor sable.
So that's how you came upon it.
And I found it and found him and it was there.
And then I was looking on
the birth date of the litter, and the birthday of the litter was the same birthday as my late mother.
So I said, Bisher, that's what we say in Judaism, Besher, meant to be.
Besher?
Besherte.
Besherte.
Meant to be.
It was meant to be.
So I said, but then I realized I adopted a Leo dog.
So I was like, oh, what is the vibe of the dog?
You know, just entitled.
Just very, just, you know, they, with rightly so, they are the stars of the show at all times.
And, you know, just, it's a big, it's a big ego.
So he prances around and owns the whole place.
What's your horoscope?
Are you a scorpion?
I'm a Capricorn.
Oh.
I'm very, I'm very,
like, I need to know everything before it happens.
I have the fear of the unknown.
I need to schedule everything and know what's going to happen.
Like, if I'm going to a restaurant, like, I'll like.
You look at the menu?
Not only look at the menu.
I'm like, where do I know who's sitting where?
This bitch doesn't eat fish.
So if I want to share the appetizer of the table, is she going to be like, oh, I'm not having any of that?
Like, this one has shellfish allergy.
If I want to get the tower, I'm going to have to sit on this side of the thing.
Like,
it goes in so deep besides just like what we're going to order.
Like, who's
going to be able to do that?
If I want to get the bottle, I mean, this is by the glasses.
This is this.
I want to spring for the bottle.
I know that she's, you know, a little cheap.
She's not going to pay for the whole bottle.
So it's going to be, it's all the dynamics.
And I stress out over something as simple as a girl's going to get lunch.
But does it wind up being as stressful as you thought it was going to be?
No, because everyone knows that I'm a psycho, so they just kind of let me.
They just kind of like by
you sit there, we're getting the tower, you can have yeah, and I'm always terrified there's not gonna be enough food, and I was like, you know, so I have to like, you know,
eat before I go because I don't really like, you know, have to not get the last shrimp.
No, that's really stressful, it's a lot of stress.
So, yes, anything in life is like that, so I have to like know everything.
That's why you stay home and cook because it's like you can plan because you're a plan, and it's in my house, and like it can, like,
do what I see fit.
And that's the category.
Yeah, if I have to excuse myself for a minute to have a breakdown,
the ladies' room,
the guests' bathroom, I'm more than welcome.
Well, I'm sorry you're going through all that.
Thank you.
I'm so sorry, but I'm glad that you're here.
And we are going to get into the show because we have a lot to catch up on.
I'm excited now, don't we?
So, without further ado, da-do-da-doo, it is time for the fast five stories that you do need to know.
And today's episode is brought to you by True Fruit.
Okay, as if we couldn't get any hungrier.
Oh, mama, true fruit.
True fruit is the most important thing that's ever ever happened to me.
I discovered it probably two years ago or maybe a year and a half.
And for me, I go dark chocolate raspberry frozen.
What do you do?
I am the exact same.
And that and blueberry.
Oh, and you like blueberry.
I didn't know that you can get them unfrozen until recently.
Oh, yeah, you can, but I'm like, I love it.
Is it a dried fruit?
That's dried fruit, but like the frozen ones are just like such a fresh, as we were saying.
We crave freshness, a sweet treat.
Oh, and like healthy.
Who to thunk?
So starting this month, all the true fruit flavors will be available in the Target freezer aisle.
We get asked all the time where to find specific flavors.
So, this is the perfect news for all true fruit lovers and fans to stock up on their hard-to-find flavors and try the new ones.
Yeah, I love, you know, experimenting with Little True Fund.
Maybe do like a bowl of mixed
decadent and satisfying treat I've ever had in my life.
It is.
So, they take perfectly ripe fruit and coat it in insanely good dark gourmil chocolate.
Then they flash freeze it to lock in all that goodness.
No artificial flavors, no weird stuff, just real fruit, real chocolate, and magic.
It's the perfect post-dinner treat.
That's when I like to enjoy my mom.
I'm watching my shows after dinner.
I want a sweet treat.
Like, I don't want to eat something so unhealthy.
Can I say that out of all the desserts I've ever had in my life?
That is, you only need a few of them, and it's so satiating and so satisfying that you don't.
I think I'm, I figure I'm gonna eat the whole bag, and then I end up saving them some for later.
But it's like, you know, you only need a few of them popped in your mouth.
It's so satisfying.
So satisfying.
So once you try true fruit, you will wonder how fruit ever existed without chocolate.
Grab your friends, neighbor, or anyone you love and get to the Target freeze aisle to try all of the flavors of True Fruit.
Or for your online grocery shoppers, you can buy TrueFruit at Target.com if you haven't tried True Fruit yet, you guys.
I'm really excited for you.

I just realized
our first story.
Elf Beauty will acquire Haley Bieber's skincare brand Rode for $1 billion.
So this was amongst the big news of the day.
Yesterday, Haley Bieber's skincare company and makeup, it's a bit of a flex company, Rode, sold for $1 billion to Elf Beauty.
So it's about $800 million in cash.
I know we're just so shook over here.
$800 million in cash and then another $200 million that will come if they like hit some goals along the way.
So
Haley Bieber, more or less billionaires club.
Billion Dollar Bieber.
Billion Dollar Bieber and not Justin.
Yeah.
So she's worth more than him.
See, you know what?
Okay.
Here's
my opening statement thoughts on this is good for you, sis.
I did not see that coming, though.
I know that, I know that the first, I think the first like influencer style celebrity billion dollar cosmetic brand was Kylie with Kylie Craig.
That's how I remember it.
Or Minnie Fenty, but they were around the same time.
Correct.
Lip kits and things like that.
I'm not saying I didn't see, I didn't see Rode.
I think that I think Kelly Bieber's capable of doing anything she puts her mind to.
I think she's fabulous.
I think she's genuine and a good person.
I think I love, I like her.
I thought the Rode,
basing on the products I've tried and things like that, I didn't think the products were that were that popular and that like globally influenced.
I don't think everyone's that globally influenced go to buy it as much as they were buying Kylie's.
Interesting.
I love the products.
Like even this morning, I think I'm wearing three Road products in my everyday and like I'm not even being paid to say that.
So I'm not surprised that it's successful because it's good stuff, but I did not realize the scale of it that I could cheat a billion dollars.
And I think I saw somewhere she more or less has 10 products.
So this is a billion dollar valuation for a brand with 10 products.
Like that's massive.
What each product is worth $100 million.
It's crazy.
I try the skincare, but I think the thing with the skincare is I'm an old lady.
So it's like, you know, I need, you know,
she has beautiful ingredients and the peptides and all the good things in her skin like the milks and all those things but you get to my age you know I need I need a deep facelift I need the Kris Kardashian yeah um
so I bet they weren't bad products I just think I was I needed something more medicinal yeah even more I think what I also like about road is like sometimes when the girlies do skincare like even Kylie skin and I love Kylie I don't want to say a bad word about her but I do feel old for Kylie's skin like I do need more and I think I had the same reaction when I tried that stuff I'm like oh this is nice if you're 18 and like you don't need heavy lift
but it'll hydrate your skin and will take care of your skin.
But like, I need more.
What I liked about Rhode Is I felt like it was, it's the right amount for me.
Like it's not too thick.
It's not too medicinal.
I don't want, because also I love to use the good stuff, like a little lemer.
But then what will I use as I get older if I'm already using the old products now?
They'll be, I'll, my skin will build up a tolerance.
Yeah.
I have to save that stuff.
Yeah.
And I got to say, I, I, I'm a toasted teddy girl.
I've got my third tube of toasted teddy.
What's toasted teddy?
It's the blush it's the pocket blush and that rusty kind of sun wind windburned color i think i use piggy not my favorite name she should work on that
i'm kidding oh yeah that pocket blush that's the third product i use in my everyday i think that's the one that maybe i think between the phone case the lip peptide and the phone case combo and then the pocket blush i think that's where she should like skyrocketed to um
to superstard i would love to know which one of her products is the most successful it might be peptide lit because you can get so many and like you know it's like I don't have road with me today.
I'm using it.
Yeah, you're using a competitor while we praise Rode, but Summer Fridays is also really good.
And I don't think it's peptide, so they're so different.
What does a peptide do?
Peptide, you know, classic.
Everybody wants peptide.
Oh, that looks nice.
That's really nice.
Yeah, medium hydration.
Totally.
Like change your look.
Totally change your look.
I haven't tried the road, but they're going to be starting to sold in Sephora, though.
So now I can try it.
Sold in Sephora.
I think Elf Beauty will help with scaling, distribution, and being more global.
I saw like a bunch of countries that they're now going to be in.
I also think on a personal level, of course, everyone wants to be a billionaire, Mazotov to Haley.
But like, we were getting to a place of like, are the Bieber is destitute?
You know, like all his money is kind of spent
and now she is the breadwinner.
Yeah.
And I think she's a lot more responsible.
I don't think he will be able to touch a cent of this because he's not to be trusted with money.
Right.
And that's for the best for their family.
By a Lamborghini.
And an island.
And a bunch of that actually would be like tangible because I feel like he spent all his money.
What did he buy?
buy?
You know, right.
I wouldn't mind if someone bought an island or a Lamborghini.
At least I can see.
Oh, yeah.
There you go.
But like, don't buy stuff that I can't see.
Like, like high tops.
Yeah, or like, I don't want to say it.
Something you could consume.
Oh,
even food.
Okay.
You spend a lot on food.
She's talking about pot brownies.
I'm talking about, yeah, even like,
yeah, food and beverage.
Okay, got it.
But I'm excited for, I think that now that we know that what she's capable of, I mean, don't, don't go crazy now, but I'm saying a fashion line with her would be insane.
Yeah.
I just think this is really amazing.
Like she decides, I feel like she said, like, I want, even in that TMZ thing that came out where she was like on tour with Justin and they gave her a plane to go on his tour.
She was like, no, I want one that's the size of Kylie's.
And they were like, no.
And so she didn't take their small plane, but I feel like she woke up and was like, I want a plane like Kylie Jenner.
I want a billion dollars.
I'm going to make it happen.
She manifested it.
And yeah, but most people, like when they set out to build a billion dollar brand, like they don't and they can't because that's not how brands get built just because you want it.
Yeah.
But like she really did it.
I think this is an amazing story for women.
I love it.
I'm excited for Elf.
Is this the first acquisition that Elf has as a brand?
I don't know, but you know, the last thing I heard about Elf, remember that interview that Megan Markle did, that podcast interview, the most recent one where she's like talking about Jamie with uh from the she's Elf, right?
No, she is um Jamie Kiernan.
She is from um IT cosmetics.
To me, ELF and IT like are the same thing.
Oh, no, it is much more luxury.
Elf is
end caps, no, ELF is the end caps in the drugstore.
It's like 99 cent makeup.
Oh, not 97, but they do, they do dupes, great dupes, everything.
That's why they have enough money to acquire Rose.
They came so far.
They, for a while, they were just like, you know, a very small brand based to like, I think.
Icelip's face.
Yeah, yeah.
Islip's face.
And then they started doing the dupes.
The primers became really big.
They had this hydrograp primer dupe that they had, this the green jelly primer.
Yeah.
They got big with that.
And then they started doing the
wand
blush, like the Charlotte Tilbury, like knocking off Charlotte Tilbury, not knocking off, but just inspired by
dupes, just like look for less.
So they found really great dupes and the products they were making were incredible.
And the thing with the lines, those cheap lines are inexpensive like that.
They're how they're able to get such quality products and like and still sell for cheap prices.
There's, is there's minimums.
Like Elf is carried at every
drugstore, CVS, Target, everywhere in the world.
And so they're ordering so much of that one product.
So they're able to get it at a lower cost because they're ordering billions of units of it.
So a smaller brand, like you know, that's only at a few department stores, select department stores, and things like that, they have to have a much higher price point because the packaging is much more elite and expensive, and they're not, they're not ordering as much of it, so they're gonna have to pay a higher premium for that.
So, that's why you can get those big brands like L'Oreal and you know, and drugstore brands, you get great products for a lot cheaper.
And that's why we have the makeup guru, Joey Comaster, on the podcast today to break this down for us.
I really thought
five minutes ago, I really thought Elf Cosmetics was IT cosmetics.
I'm like, have they have a billion billion dollars?
I'm not going to question it.
Happy for Hilly.
Get your bag.
But no, it's as if like L'Oreal bought.
Well, I don't think Elf is that big, but yeah.
Okay, so still wrong.
Like NYX.
Yeah.
Yes.
I like NYX.
Yeah, they're good.
They do great stuff.
Yeah.
They had a little store in Union Square that never opened.
It was open for like a two days.
Then it's like gone.
I think in the two days that it was open, I went there because they had a contour stick that I used to really like, like a double-sided concealer and contour.
Yeah.
And it was like the only one that worked for me and then they closed and now I use the clinique chubby stick I love clinique so nostalgic yeah it's true some things are like around long time for a reason
so yeah I use Clinique and Rode and I'm get you a girl who could do both that's right congratulations Haley congratulations to Haley like I feel like she is like just sitting pretty today like laughing in everyone's face because I feel like everyone just doubted her you know people are so mean to her before we get to the next story I said it's bothering me.
Can I bring attention to your grinder socks at your brain?
Yes, you brought attention to them before.
Can you show the camera the
icon?
Okay.
Okay, there's an icon.
So I looked down.
I said, Are you bringing the grinder symbol on your socks?
She goes, I don't know, they're Zach.
So I said, well, this makes sense.
Is that the grinder symbol?
Let me Google it.
It is the grinder.
It's a just cool symbol.
That makes sense.
I mean, I don't know if she was at
a pop-up, a grinder, pop-up, and Florida.
It's not coming up.
Oh, the mask.
Oh, okay.
I see.
Show him.
Okay, that's that's not what I show him.
Okay.
Imagine just a dick picture and turning it around.
No, no, yeah.
I'm like, I just want to like pick one.
I'm sorry.
Well, he knows he has the app on his phone.
I'm talking to our lovely producer, Chris, here.
Okay, this.
This is the Grindr logo.
For anyone who didn't know that, which is me.
And then this is my sock.
It's eerily similar.
I would ask Zach where he got them.
I will.
You know what?
Let me just take a picture and ask him.
She was down in Wilton Manor on a business conference.
He's going to be like, you have had those socks for so long.
I always think it's like the infinity symbol.
I'm sure it's a lovely athleisure brand.
Where are these socks from?
Imagine at the gay bar down the street.
Right.
They were having a chew for one.
Margarita special.
Okay, sorry to interrupt the fast five stories.
No, but I'm sorry to this brand that's just been like pretty much ruined or made, depends how you look at it.
Well, the gays love to share it.
Yeah, it depends.
Your clients are going to be up.
Father's Day is coming up.
And Father's Day is coming up.
There we go.
Our next story: some other major news.
Some legal news.
Todd and Julie Christley have been released from prison after receiving pardons from President Trump.
Pardon pardons.
I didn't even know this was Bruin, but then after this all came out, like then I was looking at the kids, social media isn't like, they've been in DC, they've been like lobbying for this.
You know who they were with?
Alice Marie Johnson.
Yes, Kim Kardashian's friend.
Kim Kardashian's friend, who she freed with the help of Trump.
So like it's part of this whole,
what's the word for it?
Like
a movement?
No, but like a
justice, criminal justice.
Criminal justice, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So there we're up next for a pardon.
Who knew?
And now Todd and Julie Christie, I believe Todd is out now.
Both of them?
Yeah, he was on his way home to Nashville after being locked up at federal prison in Pensacola, Florida.
And Julie was also released not long after her husband.
So they are both on their way home, if not home.
Where was she stationed?
She was stationed at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
So Kentucky, and the other one was in where?
Florida.
Oh, so they weren't even near each other.
No.
So
what a reunion.
What a reunion, especially because he got 12 years.
I think she had a couple years less.
And they've both been in prison for at least over a year.
It's been a while.
How nuts.
Now, the thing is with this is
how do...
How do they choose who gets to go home?
What do you mean?
Like, pardons are like, know that, I know that the president pardoned like thousand, like 5,000 people.
Joe Biden.
No,
Donald Trump.
Today?
No, I think that with this new wave of pardons, I think there was like 4,000-something people that got pardoned within the, and the Chrissies just happened to be two numbers on the two numbers on the thing.
Okay.
In this last, like, week?
I'm assuming, I mean, correct me if I wrote, we have to ask ChatGPT, but.
Okay, they were part of a wave of pardons.
A wave of pardons, yes.
Okay.
Yeah.
So it wasn't just these random two ones.
And apparently this has been in the works for many many moons because lifetime has been documenting her trying to get the parents out for so the show is already and everyone's in get the cameras there get the cameras the cameras have already been sat oh wow the cameras have been there because her going to her going to um the storming the capital or whatever it was
the going to lobby lobbying at the white house and all these things was
all being documented like about her you know her her journey and i guess so this is just like an ongoing thing so i think we're going to be seeing she announced uh what's your name?
Christley, the blonde Christley, Savannah Christley, announced that the cameras will be rolling and this is going to be a lifetime.
Well, that is so great for the viewers because this is interesting content.
Yeah, I don't know, but they obviously have been making their case for a while.
It does make sense if it's part of a larger wave of pardons because I guess that's like what you do.
Right.
And their sentencing was like really harsh for the crimes that they committed.
And I think that's like the sort of people who are eligible, not eligible.
They try to make a sense of it.
I think a lot of people, in the public eye, they try to make him an example, an example,
Michael's situation, right?
This does remind me of Sitch.
Yeah,
and so, but if Sitch got 12 years,
he got one year, right?
He got, yeah, a little 13 months, I think.
That's your friend, yeah.
Yeah, we were just together recently.
Oh, nice.
How's he doing?
Lovely.
He's got three children now.
They have a beautiful home.
He's has a new book out.
He's opening his own
Claudia, she's obsessed with his own center, is his own rehab center, rehabilitation center for
addiction.
That's That's amazing.
Yeah.
You love to see it.
We'd love to see it.
Yeah.
But yeah, so I mean, there's a lot of taboo topics about this Christleys, you know, because it's, you know, being pardoned and, you know, the rich, you know, rich and privileged people.
It seems like that seems like the trend.
Yeah, that people are mad about it.
I think so.
I've been too busy in the last 24 hours to take the pulse and see how people were feeling.
And I imagine it's how, you know, if people like the Christleys and they felt they were treated unfairly, they're happy for this.
If people don't like the Christleys and want to throw the book at him, they're like, this is.
I think Todd's a little upset because now he can't have all those prison boyfriends
you know he was probably thriving in there you think so he probably had to write something down well I saw she said he got jacked those the savannahs my father got jacked and she showed like a glimpse of his bicep and of his thigh he was wearing a I think it was a Lululemon short and maybe a half a quarter zip oh on the right he was working on his fitness yeah that's a good thing to do while you're away as they say but i want i'm excited to see the homecoming video because like remember when tradition teresa judici came home from prison walked in the kitchen I just wanted to see what her hair looked like and like when they come fresh out.
I've seen them fresh out of prison.
And I know Julie's not going to have a blowout.
No, unless she's been working on herself as well.
Maybe she's a brand new person.
Maybe she had Laverne Cox in there, like an orange and the black doing those weekly blowouts.
Why don't you have her how she kept up with that frosted color?
Do you think she's she's rooted and booted, mama?
Oh, I wonder.
I didn't even think about it.
Can you get your hair bleached in prison?
I'm sure you could maybe buy a box dye at the commissary, no?
Maybe Clorox wipes and just
do a root smudge.
But I don't know.
Maybe at that point it's just like better to just go natural and like, yeah.
I feel like the upkeep would also be stressful.
Like, how am I going to get my
high glam
southern lady?
But I feel like, you know, you could also, if she has, what up, brown, darker hair, like
that could be beautiful as well.
There we go.
But yeah, it will be interesting to see.
I didn't realize Kevin.
Ones to watch, Toasters.
Ones to watch.
Our third story are also ones to watch.
This was news that I saw the other day at the AMAs.
Zach Brown and Kendra Scott.
Oh, I saw you.
Oh, other news from the AMAs was Heidi Montag's wig.
I think that was an internet plant.
I think that was a publicity.
Clickbait.
Clickbait.
I think they knew they were doing it.
I think she knew it was a risk and it was going to be talked about.
It was so bad that...
It was that
it became a headline.
Now think about it.
She's in every, on everyone's mind.
She's in everyone's picture.
Everyone's, you know,
making fun of it.
All prints of good press.
There's no right mind that a gay person would do that to her unless it was sabotage.
Unless it was sabotage.
It was so bad.
It was stiffer than
a box of Pringles.
Okay, but I like it if it's like her idea and she's taking her power back, you know, and getting her press clippings.
Yeah.
I think it has a little bit of both.
I think they're a smart couple.
I think that I think that wig was intentional.
That is so funny.
It was a government plant.
Well, other plants on the carpet, Zach Brown and Kendra Scott are dating.
They debuted
another billionaire female founder.
They debuted their
romance at the 2025 AMA.
So Zach Brown is from Zach Brown Band.
Yes.
And Kendra Scott is the founder of Kendra Scott Jewelry, a billion-dollar brand.
She's also a guest shark on Shark Tank.
So she's just like, these people are from two completely different worlds.
She bought Kristen Cavallieri's jewelry line, didn't she?
She did.
If I'm not mistaken.
You have all the MA news.
A spin-off jewelry Brown, of Uncommon James.
Love.
If I'm correct, but Kendra Scott, I mean, that's another, another female founder.
Another female founder.
This episode is just great for female founders doing big things.
Zach Brown seems like a catch, even though as we talk about him, I'm like reminded that there was some sort of
scandal in his.
Is that scandalous or taboo the relationship?
Is there any, what's going on with this?
Is she an older lady?
I think this is good.
No, no, no.
I think he's 46 and she's 51.
So like, we're good but i feel like when he divorced his ex-wife i remember seeing a lot of headlines just about the divorce like i don't think it was the greatest maybe the timing was was was off me not with kendra though
i'm guessing because i feel like if i'm remembering correctly it was like a year a year ago at least so i think Kendra's a new woman, you know, and this is a fresh relationship on
new fertile soil.
A younger, a younger rock star.
Yeah.
She has, you know, her jewelry line
is rocks.
I was trying to make a word association.
Like Alzheimer's.
That's really beautiful.
That's really beautiful.
I actually ship so hard.
And I just want to know how two people like this meet each other.
Like, where do they run into each other in order to spark a romance?
I'm assuming, like, in Nashville.
So is she based
in Tennessee?
I wouldn't have thought so, but I guess it's possible.
What does she look like?
Do you have a photograph?
Yeah, of course.
She's a beautiful lady.
Oh, wow.
No, I didn't think that's what she looked like.
Oh, what'd you think?
I didn't know.
I didn't think she was so glam.
I assumed she'd be a little bit more granola-ish for some reason.
I don't know.
Beautiful couple.
I mean, I think that that's kind of the people you go for.
She's probably a fan of country music.
Maybe she was.
heading she you know she got went to a concert went to a concert bought a box a box for all her jewelry all her jewelry employees
and then went backstage and you know caught her eye caught an eye yeah
so that's right i'm wishing them luck and i hope that they've been dating for a while now.
If they're finally stepping out, you know, you imagine you go public on the first date or second or third.
Background band is Country Fried.
Yeah.
Chicken Fried.
Little chicken fried.
And hello, I like my chicken fried.
Colbe.
Here on a Friday night.
Little pin that fits just right.
We're probably going to get copyrighted.
We're going to get it stopped for copyright.
They sound just like them.
I don't think they're going to know what that was.
And also, Joey's a big country music fan.
Yes.
You're full of surprises.
I still have not done stagecoach yet because you know what?
My anxiety is putting it off because I want to make sure it's perfect.
So for the planner, I don't know if you can see it.
I don't need to know if the house is right.
Like, I'm not a Palm Springer, so I don't know, like, when I get out to the desert, how do I find the home?
Yeah.
How do I find the brand deals?
How do I get into all the parties?
Like, I want to make sure I'm like set up for success.
I don't want to be like a straggler in a tent sitting on the side of the road next to a cactus.
Yeah, I do feel like it's easy to end up that way.
And even for someone who's not a planner, it's very stressful.
Yeah.
And so I need like Revolve to send me or like
Quince.
I need Quince to send me to the next.
But like, even if they send you, then you have no control over like what if you're in the room that's not right for you.
Right.
So sometimes it's good to write your own.
Well, they base have what the room you get on your followers now.
Oh, is that how, yeah, that's a good one.
That's how brand trips have been working, yeah.
Okay, like people probably have an issue with that, but how else should it go?
Like someone's going to have a better room.
Like Beyonce's going, little mama are going on tour.
Beyonce's getting the master suite.
Right.
Yeah.
I guess they could like pick out of a hat, very real real housewife style, but I don't know.
Don't you want to keep like your biggest talent happiest, right?
I agree.
Do you think any brands are watching want to send me on a brand trip right now?
Would you love to go on a brand trip?
I mean, depending on what it is.
I mean, the caliber of it and other people going a lot of times these people are so young that I feel like, you know, like I'm the chaperone and like we have kind of nothing in common.
So I think if it's the right fit, I would love to do it, you know.
You know, if more, I'm more like a, I'm a real housewives error.
If it's a girl, like a real housewives girls' trip, that'd be more me.
Like going to like, you know,
like a playing volleyball on a a beach in Bali is not my thing.
Yeah.
I don't get invited on a lot of brand trips either.
Do you think if they got invited, you didn't want to go, at least they sent me and said they would notice?
No, I don't think that they would.
I think they'd be pleasantly surprised.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just, I, but if any brand ambassadors or marketing girlies are planning a brand trip, like, considering
you would be so great.
Yeah.
And you like to travel?
Love to travel.
Your passport is up to date.
It is up to date.
Okay.
I have global entry.
You'd be great for Tarte.
Because you're a makeup.
I did Tart.
I never went on a Tarte brand trip.
I went to see Beyoncé with Tarte.
Ooh.
That was fun.
Yeah, so we went there.
And then, you know, I do some events here and there, but I never did the actual sleepover private jet trip.
Okay.
Maureen, if you're watching, I know I'm sure Maureen's a toaster.
Send me on the next trip.
There's a lot of toasters who work at Tarte.
Yeah.
They send us product, but they don't invite us to Bali.
Oh.
I think Claudia actually might have done that.
I think also we don't get invited to stuff because people know we won't go.
Right.
So like, but still, we would like to be invited.
So I just want to make that clear.
It's a thought that counts.
You're right.
We probably won't go.
We have a lot going on, but it's nice to be included.
You just want to be, you just want to be included.
I just want to be appreciated.
Yeah.
Right?
Thought of.
And it's like, it's when you invite someone to your wedding and you know they can't come.
It's like, oh, well, it's perfect because like you got the credits.
You got the karma credits.
And you didn't have to pay for their place.
Yes.
That's kind of like what we are.
I love saying no to things.
Yeah.
Are you ready for our next story?
I've never been more ready.
I'm so ready as well, but I do need to let you know, I did speak hastily that today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by Fatty15.
So Fatty 15, I'm so excited.
So my nickname in college.
I'm so excited to share with you guys about C15 from Fatty 15.
It's the first essential fatty acid to be discovered in more than 90 years.
It's an incredible scientific breakthrough to support our long-term health and wellness.
And you guessed it, aging and longevity.
That is definitely a theme of today's episode.
Like we are looking to age and longevity in a graceful way.
Grow old gracefully.
Grow old gracefully.
And Fatty 15 co-founder Dr.
Stephanie Van Watson discovered the benefits of feet.
Female founder.
What is going on today?
So many themes, so many like just obvious signs.
She discovered the benefits while working with the U.S.
Navy to continually improve the health and welfare of aging dolphins.
Based on over 100 studies, we now know that C15 strengthens our cells and is a key longevity-enhancing nutrient, which helps to slow biological aging at the cellular level.
Because when our cells age, our bodies age too.
This eventually led to studies finding the new, first new nutritional deficiency in 75 years called cellular fragility syndrome caused by a lack of the essential fatty acid C15.
As many as one in three people worldwide now have low C15 levels and CFS, cellular fragility syndrome.
So Fatty 15 repairs age-related damage to cells, protects them from future breakdown, and activates pathways in the body that help regulate our sleep, mood, and natural repair mechanisms that support our overall health.
It is clinically proven to raise C15 levels, resulting in lower cholesterol levels, healthier liver function, improved gut microbiome, and improved red blood cell health within three weeks.
Best of all, Fatty 15 comes in a gargie-pargy reusable glass bamboo jar and refills are shipped right to your door.
Fatty 15 is on a mission to optimize your C15 levels to help you live healthier longer.
You can get an additional 15% off their 90-day prescription starter kit by going to fatty15.com slash toast and using code toast at checkout.
Check it out, Fatty15.

These cocktails are wine-based, colorful, effervescent, and absolutely delicious.
We made these canned cocktails because we hated malt-based hard selters.
We love wine.
We literally made the cocktail that we wish to drink in the world.
Yes.
And we've won USA's Today's Best Canned Cocktail three years in a row now for good reason because it's seriously delicious.
So here are the flavors that are now available.
Okay, good.
Lemon iced tea, which is by Craig Conover from Southern Charm.
I know you're going to Charleston soon.
Love that.
You have to stop by Sewing Sewing Down South in Charleston.
Are you going to stop by Sewing Down South?
They have Spritz Society.
Oh, I'm at the Pillow Store?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got it.
Oh, have you met Craig?
I've met him, yes.
You love him?
Yeah.
Pink Lemonade by Skinny Confidential.
My girl, Lauren Bostick.
I'm sure you've had the pickle.
Chris Colb Claussen.
Chris Colb Claussen.
And Peach.
These are like the four fan favorites.
They're so viral.
They're so awesome.
And they're perfect for summers.
So Spritz Society is now available everywhere.
Go to spritzsociety.com slash toast to find a store near you.
And be sure to follow at Spritz on Instagram for all of our exciting updates, announcements, events.
We've got a lot going on over at Spritz Society.
How exciting!
I found out the national availability for that commercial I saw you on.
Oh, yeah, we did a little commercial.
What'd you call him, Bucko?
Something you should have done a long time ago, Bucko.
I loved that commercial.
It was so good.
That was a good stuff.
Always quoting it.
Well, our next story is some musical, movie musical news.
Mama Mia is returning to Broadway, and Sabrina Carpenter is eyed for the third movie and TV version.
So lots of Mamma Mia news.
She'd be perfect in that.
She would be perfect in that.
And it might actually make me like Mamma Mia.
It was Amanda Seifert
her predecessor.
Yeah, Amanda Seifred predecessor, Meryl Streep.
And like, even though you would think I would love Mamma Mia, I love ABBA.
I love movie musicals.
Like, I don't love musicals, but I like them in a movie.
I don't like Mamma Mia.
It gets on my nerves.
Well, I think they'll all sound the same.
But in a good way.
Is that the one that everyone's playing in the like a couple of summers ago, everyone was throwing napkins in the in the club?
Yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, I remember that.
That's cute, like I like all the lore.
Like, I should, I like everything about it except the actual movie.
I don't know why.
Where does it take place?
Is it Greece and Greece?
And it's like, I think the first one, she's getting married, Amanda Sabri's getting married, and then there's like three men who might be her father, and then she sings.
And then the other one, the next one.
Does the story change?
It's the sequel.
So it's like
a prequel?
So this is going to be a sequel to Samanda Cypher's movie?
Are they going to read you Amanda Cypher's movie?
I think this will be number three.
Like maybe it's even, I don't know how you would, how you would do it in a way that Sabrina Carpenter is the lead.
Like not Amanda Saifreed's daughter.
So this was a movie.
I'm sorry.
Is the Mama Mia?
Was it a Broadway show?
Yes.
And then it became a movie?
Yes.
So the Broadway show only told one story.
Yes.
So that movie's that was emulated in the first movie.
In the first Mamma Mia, which did really well.
So maybe the second Mamma Mia.
Now they're talking about a third starring Sabrina.
I think it's good news, like, because it would be good for Sabrina to be like box office queen.
It'd be great for her.
She's got a lot of people know she's been around for many moons.
She can do it all.
Yeah.
I've not been sleeping on Sabrina Carpenter.
Like I would never.
I've been a fan of her for her whole tenure.
Yeah.
But people like don't really realize.
They think, oh, I like Espresso, please.
And then they see her in concert.
They're like, she can dance.
She's funny.
She can act.
I'm like, yeah, because she's a Disney person.
She made a brand.
She made a brand for herself.
She's got that kind of whole niche thing down pat that whatever she's doing.
Do you see her in concert?
I haven't seen her in concert.
Oh, I've seen her in concert.
Yes.
At the VMAs, she was the performance.
Oh, you and MTV.
Yeah, we were linked.
She was just like obsessed.
So she was, she's the VMAs, and she, she killed it.
She was one of the best performers I've ever seen.
So she has great stage presence.
She's marketed herself into this quirky,
you know, 50s or 60s glam bot, whatever feminine thing.
And it's just, it just works for her.
She found, she found the right niche, and I think she's, she's
appealing to a broader audience.
Men want to see her cuz she's beautiful girls like her cuz she's relatable and she says you know powerful songs about her you know about feminine femininity and she's just you know an all-around like you know pretty American girl I think she's very I like her yeah I like her too I feel like we have mostly the same opinions about people yeah I've yet to diverge with you today here we go do you like mama mia I don't necessarily not like I never saw the movie I know this I know like the songs and the thing is like I like the mama mia songs that's my favorite part but those are just abba songs Yeah.
So it's not even like they didn't, the thing that I like is not even theirs.
True dat.
So I could just listen to ABBA.
I like ABBA.
Do you like ABBA?
I do.
I think that's, it's a feel-good jam.
So put on.
I totally agree.
It's always the vibe.
Was it a cult?
Doesn't it sound like it's a, there wasn't like 50 people, 15 people in the band?
So there is an ABBA documentary that I think talks about the dark sides of ABBA.
Dorksadid.
But I think they also got their start on Eurovision.
Are they European?
the greece yeah i think there's like swedish are they swedish then they came from eurovision which is crazy
what a tangled web we weave right isn't that just not
i didn't know about that but i i i i just knew there was something i'm clairvoyant in that way i knew there was something
something taboo about it yeah oh taboo i don't know taboo let me search abba cult
Abba cult were they all brothers and sisters or were they all sleeping together something all married something was going on there oh everything you need to know about the Swedish cult classic ABBA.
No, but they're not a cult.
Oh, Torment of the ABBA star with a Nazi father.
That's not what has.
I thought there was just a little menage trois going on.
I know you have a Nazi story.
No, but there's definitely a documentary.
I'm pretty sure it was referenced in the season of Summerhouse.
Craig told Paige to watch it.
It was about the dangers of touring, right?
I think that I'm getting that right.
Our fifth and final story: a little TV news: the real households of London London cast is here.
Now, don't be like me.
I did confuse this with Ladies of London cast.
No.
Ladies of London, do you ever watch Ladies of London?
Greatest television ever made.
Very good.
They announced a few weeks ago they're bringing it back.
Now, everyone, these housewives, it's getting itselves into like, you know,
strange territory because if I was a lady of London, I'd be like, what the hell?
What's wrong with us?
Why are you bringing a whole nother cast of characters in here?
Renew our show.
And they did.
Oh, they both have shows now.
They're both having shows.
So now we're having Real Houses of London.
Oh, that's a good old-fashioned tea party.
Cast by Hiyu.
And the cast is out, and it's interesting for one reason.
And then we're waiting on Ladies of London cast, but they already said Ladies of London is going to be all new people.
Now, I'm holding out hope that there'll be some familiar faces.
However.
So is Stanberry going to jump to the news?
And she would have to be a housewife.
She lives in Dubai.
Oh, she's not a London lady?
She was a lady of London.
Yeah.
She crushed it.
Fan favorite.
Then a housewife of Dubai.
Then she moved to Dubai with her husband at the time, Jem.
They They divorced.
She still lives in Dubai with her new husband, Sergio, and she's on Real House Eyes of Dubai, which I think is
not coming back.
I think it's not working.
So it's time to move back to London, Caroline Stanberry.
She's also like an aristocrat, like a British aristocrat.
I like watching her.
I love her.
She's one of my favorite reality TV stars ever.
And now there's two London ladies shows for ladies in London.
And she needs to be on one of them.
And there's no show in Dubai at the moment.
Why not?
Jump the pond yeah i think her whole family is in london she's like from there she has history she's like tied to the royal family and association wise i think that's what people are going to be expecting because like again i didn't know both shows or both franchises were greenlit again for season two
but i now that i know i i would i i would want her to be a part of that in some capacity because otherwise it's not as familiar for me me as well but what's interesting is real houses of london cast is announced and the one name that we do know and is familiar is juliet angus remember juliet she had the King Charles Cavaliers.
Oh, yes, she was like, she's the American, like the chatty American.
And then her and Caroline wound up being unlikely friends.
I think that, yeah.
And she's an influencer now.
She does like, she's a full-time content creator, so she'll be great.
I'm interested to see what the ladies, the house-wise in London, are going to be.
I have a feeling they're going to be a little bit grittier than you would expect.
When you hear London, you think, you know, high society, rich tea ladies, like, you know, ties to the royal family being blah, blah, blah.
I think it's going to be a little bit more Soho, Piccadilly.
Is that Piccadilly?
Is that London?
Piccadilly?
Yeah, that sounds right.
Or something like that.
I think it's going to be a little bit more like, you know, like rock and roll-ish or like, you know, like a little bit more like a grungy fashion designer.
Interesting.
Like maybe someone who worked for Vivian Westwood or like something like that as opposed to very proper cheap pauper.
That was like Annabelle on Ladies of London.
Remember her?
She was McQueen's muse, but she passed away.
Right.
Rest in peace.
So I think I have a feeling they're going to be a little younger.
It's going to skew a little bit more like Rony, but like the London version.
I think that's what they've been trying to do and it flopped, I think, for me.
Roni.
And Roni flopped.
Yeah.
I mean Jenna Jenna can do no wrong in my eyes, but like the rest of the gals, I think it just wasn't the right thing.
I think it's fair to say.
It's fair to say.
We can call that one.
But I'm excited to see what that's happening.
And I know this is not on the topic board, but I'm excited to see what's going on with Rhode Island.
Right.
Whispers are the same.
Rhode Island's having, it's their moment, I feel.
I feel like it's going to be the new,
like, remember when New Jersey was like the hottest ticket in town, everything was, you know, the sopranos and the households of New Jersey and then Jersey Shore.
It was like, there was a whole.
What else is happening in Rhode Island?
Or you think this is going to be the beginning of something new?
I feel it's going to be the beginning of something new.
Oh, I like that.
I feel like that's a pocket of the country that we haven't seen on television.
Right.
I think there's a lot to be seen there because everyone thinks Rhode Island is like, there's a huge Italian-American community there.
I think that's what they're focusing on.
I've seen pictures and a little bit of bios of some of the presumed ladies who have been in the world.
Poly D's from there.
So you think it will be like Paul E.
D's?
I don't think it'll be that.
I think it'll be, I think it'll be, as opposed to like what you would think about, like, it'd be like, you think Rhode Island, you think gingham and coastal gingham and like lobster bakes and clam and clams and new house and
hydrangeas and white picket fences.
I think it's going to be more holiday house.
I think it's going to be more that
focusing on that kind of like Italian-American culture that's over there.
Interesting.
Well, I'm excited.
I always love the new house-wise franchise, like kumza fresh, as we say.
Like new is good.
I'm learning so many Yiddish words today.
You are.
I usually don't speak this much Yiddish, especially like nothing.
You know that I'm all over the world.
That's why, probably.
Yeah.
And as you said, like you're a little bit Italian, you're a little bit Irish.
Now you're a little yid.
Yeah, there we go.
Little yiddle Joey Camasta.
Okay, the other people, in case anyone listening knows who these people are, I personally don't.
Panthea Parker, Karen Lauderick Peace, Amanda Cronin, Nessie Welshinger, and Juliet Mayhew, which is the only name that I'm like,
Do we know that person?
Do you know Nessie Helinger?
I don't know Nessie.
Do you know Nessie?
No, I don't know any of them.
Here, I'm looking at one of them on Instagram, Juliet.
Let's see if she's like what we're looking for.
She seems to be what we're looking for.
Oh, you know, she's got the housewife Instagram.
Yeah, just a topless man.
A topless man.
She's got, you know, like florals.
I see, I see tapered candles.
A chandelier that has everything we need.
I need to get an iPad.
I think my phone, I'm getting so old that my phone is getting too small for me to see.
Interesting.
Do you have the biggest phone that they make?
I have the biggest phone they make, but I do want to get the biggest iPad they make
soon.
Yeah, just watch out for like Carpal Tunnel, though.
When you're holding the iPad, I only use my iPad for this show, really.
And it's just professional.
It is.
I don't want to be on my phone.
I don't like being on my phone.
That's like very boomer of me.
I do everything on my computer, not even on my iPad.
There we go.
Like, I can't answer your email until I'm at my computer.
Sorry.
Oh, there you go.
Apologies.
You like to type.
This email finds me at my computer.
You went to Catherine Gibbs.
What's that?
It's like a school, like a trade school for secretaries.
I went to meet this beacon.
Teaches.
Is that the school?
no it's a computer program it's 90s kid but your 80s 70s
79.
it was um like 90s kids learned computer typing skills with mavis beacon teaches typing did you play oregon trail i don't think is that i know what that is you probably know what it is it's a it's a the green and black game yeah it's a computer game that showed us how um travelers were on the Oregon Trail, I think.
You know who actually created that game?
Whom?
Mr.
Wonderful, Kevin O'Leary.
Oh, get out of here.
Yeah.
I was supposed to have a podcast with him one day.
Like, do an episode with him?
Yeah, he was supposed to come on, but then it got canceled last minute.
You guys would be so great together.
Can you circle back?
Maybe we'll circle back.
Make it happen.
The world needs that.
What are your thoughts on Bethany Frankel?
Oh, I think she's.
I'm enjoying
her newfound voice.
Yeah, or just her, like, her influencing.
Yeah, I think it's funny.
I trust her opinion.
I've always liked her.
Anytime she was a housewife, like, not even just dogmatically, like, I always just agreed with her.
Yeah.
I think she's like a very sensible, logical person, also like funny and smart.
And a lot of her newfound
speaking stuff was like going down on TikTok a lot.
And I don't have TikTok.
So I missed a lot of it.
That's right.
But then recently I followed her on Instagram.
I forget like what was the impetus and it's enjoyable.
She has got a lot going on.
She does.
She always has great recommendations, good restaurant things, and she gives it, she shoots it to you straight.
Yeah, she does.
And she's like, she, you know, no one owns her.
So her opinions are really her own.
Yeah.
Is what I find.
And like, it's not like she, like, when she promotes a product that she loves, it's like, she doesn't need the money.
She just actually likes the product.
At least, at least it seems that way.
Then I just want to talk about Summerhouse because Reunion Part 1 aired last night.
And I know you're friends with a lot of the Summerhouse people, but you don't watch.
I haven't watched a full episode, partly because I'm jealous and I'm not on it.
You'd be great.
A lot of times I don't watch shows because of that.
It's like the Traders, like if the Traders had podcasters instead of like all these reality stars, I would fucking crush the Traders.
You would.
You need to get on a reality show just to get on, like to be eligible for those alum shows.
That's what I got to do.
I got to start doing like, maybe I'll go on RuPaul's Drag Race.
Or is there anything like with Jersey Shore that you could get a
Jew moonlight on the Jersey Shore?
I'm there all the time.
Because you're big with MTV.
Yeah.
So there's a few, you know, the next few seasons.
They film so many seasons.
Next few seasons, I'll be popping up here and there, but I don't think it's enough to get me a credited spot on the Traders.
Understood.
You need to clock more hours.
But yeah, Summer House, you know, I love Paige Sorbo, and, you know, I've met Craig.
You said you're friends with West?
West?
I've met, you know, I've not quite tight friends with him.
I met him a couple of times and we're friendly online.
Friendly stuff.
So, yeah.
Classic.
I've never met him, but I actually, so reading part one was enjoyable.
Nothing like major happened, just like some cumber, nothing moved the needle in terms of like what the drama on the show, but just people were sharing.
Are they in the same house every year?
They're in the same house every year.
And I actually had a thought last night, which is that like Summer House could really take place anywhere on Earth.
Like it doesn't have to be in the Hamptons.
They don't leave the house.
It's just like you come to like they sometimes go to a club or something, but they can't really bring the cameras.
The town of the Hamptons doesn't really like them filming in the Hamptons, so they really are relegated to this house.
So it's like, why don't you just get a house somewhere else?
You could have an even bigger house with like more things going on in
it.
Like Jersey Shore showed us the shore.
Like you would go to Jersey Shore as a tourist, like to have the Jersey Shore experience.
We're going to Karma, we're going to t-shirt shop.
Like there were the spots, the boardwalk.
Like it showed
Summerhouse has no
neighborhood.
Like there's nothing.
Which I'm surprised about.
So I would think that that's what would get the draw.
I mean, I know the cast of characters is fabulous and the drama is great, but I would think that everyone that, you know, Hampton is such a niche thing in New York that like a lot of people like only hear about the Hamptons.
They don't really know what it's like.
I think if they, I, they showed like, you know, what the restaurants are, what it's like to like go to the beach or like going to getting, trying to get in circles.
They don't show us going to the beach, them bringing, lugging their chairs doesn't look glam.
They don't show us like walking down Main Street getting a coffee.
People just like sneak out in the morning.
Going to, you know, going to St.
Ambrose.
And it's like they rent in south which is the most expensive
hampton it's like okay i understand you want to go to the hampton's because that's what people in new york do so like what they're not going to go upstate every weekend but like get a house in quog like get a something closer to the city
i don't know why you have to be in southampton we're not seeing anything about southampton even though it doesn't matter at this point it was just something i noted where it's like there's nothing hamptons about this show and is there Is there a relationship drama?
Is anyone sleeping with anyone in the cast?
So yeah.
So this season, Lexi, who was on the toast yesterday.
Stunning girl.
Stunning.
Oh, my God.
Beautiful girl.
Inside and out.
It was her first season on the show.
And she like made a very quick connection with Jesse Solomon, who's Wes' best friend, who it's his second season.
Like immediately, sparks flew.
It reminded me a lot of Jersey Shore, like Sam.
It's a bad example, but like Sam and Ron.
That's what made the show so good.
Was like a bunch of people and like there were a couple of people who like really connected.
And like, that's what's great reality television when you're in a share house.
And so the whole season is about like their relationship.
They're like really hot and heavy, really fast.
But like he's not ready for a relationship and isn't acting right all the time.
And by the end end of the summer they do break up um but that is the core drama of the summer and what does paige get into she just gives gives the one-liners and and and and just gives the sass pretty much so last season like she was still with craig he came to the house one time for a weekend which we're used to at this point he's from southern charm not southern house some summer house he's from southern charm correct charleston that's right so but her relationship they're still together over the summer so it's a lot about like how she's feeling in the relationship does he come on the show he does And every year that they've been together.
No, because the show is lover boy.
They would block it out.
Everything on the show is lover boy.
And we have drama.
I know, I know the drama.
It's funny to like watch the show.
And I'm like, oh, that's like, I have beef here.
But that's kind of good that you don't watch the show because if you have like friends with the cast, it's like weird if you're watching your show.
But the thing is, also, I'm very good friends with Hannah Berner.
And I had no idea.
I knew she was on the show, but I didn't know there was a scandal about her like getting, getting, I don't know if she got kicked off or fired or something happened.
She got pushed out
allegedly because like i had no idea a brand deal with drule and then loverboy is like they run the music
problematic it sounds like yeah they're just like there's enough space for everyone yeah and like it's not like lover so loverboy is on every single episode cans in hand all the time all they drink is loverboy is that is that now is it a summer house as a whole owns that or one one so one cast member does I don't know if Bravo owns any of it because I remember after Bethany, like now Bravo owns like a piece of any brand that launches on the show so I don't know what Bravo's involvement is but like they don't let really he doesn't really let anyone bring anything else into the house like the whole every party is stocked by it like cases on cases like and why would you even need something else I ask is um icy lemonade promoted on on uh southern charm um
of spritz it's in like craig if he's having the backyard barbecue like it's there but it's not like the whole Show.
Yeah, but Bravo's not taking a cut of your sales.
No, good.
Yeah.
So I think sometimes they blur it out.
I don't know what that's about.
We've signed releases.
Like, go ahead.
Who knew the canned cocktail world was so intertwined?
There's so much drama in this world.
This all went down like a year ago.
Oh, my God.
But yeah, it's just sort of like Cold War, colder cocktails.
True dad.
I'm going to go to Target after this.
I'm doing a lot of things after this.
If I show the picture of me and you to the lady at Target, will I get a free case?
Oh my God, I got to get you a free case.
I'll get you some spritz too.
Send me some lemonade iced tea or the pink one.
I'll take any flavor.
I had pickle before.
I don't eat that anymore.
I still have some left.
I'm cracking up.
Lemon iced tea and pink lemonade are on their way to you today.
